  1. mrs like tall tall cars, she likes the feeling of seeing far far ahead me the opposite, i like to go low and stealth in fact about 2 weeks ago, we went to see the Honda CRV at Ubi. she drove the older CRV before and likes it. personally, i find the interior refinement of the new CRV quite nice compared to the earlier model that mrs drove years back. black nice, but then to maintain the dark rx8 already so hard, imagine have to use ladders to wax/polish the whole CRV but apple jie did say before CRV is not very good, power-wise. But never mind lah, singapore roads nia, can move briskly can liao for such a big car..hehe couple of months back, drove a Rush (not mine) to Chinese cemetary to baibai grandparents because din want to subject the rx8 to the muddy road there cos it was raining overall impression quite alright. only thing i din really like is that the engine sounded like a lorry when moving off the traffic lights. I made fun of Mrs, by telling her that now I am the younger version of the uncle who was in his van next to us at the traffic lights, i can go delivery goods liao, irritated her of cos...haha higher gears on the TPE/SLE/KJE seems good and quiet (much better than the lower gears), but there was this *floating* feeling that made me insecure travelling at 100km/hr even on the straights. It's an unfamiliar feeling of not *feeling* the tyres giving me feedback on how much traction there really is. But for the price, the RUSH/TERIOS is a good consideration for those venturing into cheap miniSUVs. Those who like bigger but dun want to pay for the continental SUVs from BMW/Audi/Porsche can consider the RAV4 and CRV, or even applie jie's Xtrail, or Mitsubishi Outlander? Of cos there's the SantaFes and Tucsons as well for those who support Korean rides not gang fight, it is NO FIGHT. wait till u see EVOs lining up the same way
  2. eh, like that Fifi genna outnumbered, maybe won't bring Fifi along also then. But Greycat, you and BrownMse are welcomed to come play with Fifi since you 2 are already in sengkang. Can let Fifi smell Yuki first through your hands before meeting her female playmate
  3. no need one lah, we all just sit on the floor. housewarming mah, help u warm the floor also
  4. right timing bro, i sell to you cheap by then !!
  5. nice Nivlek! ahnah, Nivlek's should be a Fit/Jazz with bodykit. Nivlek: yeap, the new facelift is out soon on the roads in a couple of months, nothing majoy changes to the car, just some facia changes, engine still the same with slight changes to the oil injection to the apex seals, transmission tweak abit of ratio, interior changes to the steering wheel and tachometer... we same taste, bronze CE28s
  6. thanks bro, give me a frenly honk and wave if u see me at sengkang traffic lights
  7. went to a club gathering today (low cars and shorties only...hahaha) followed by dinner
  8. fifteen may- 1 pair enough - white or silver will go ok with most gowns. Coz after the wedding, you seldom wear them.
  9. u both TALL people mah, just like apple jie. if inside low cars, the moment the car goes over the bump, your heads will hit the roof and in no time the roof have 2 little humps , just nice the curvature of your heads different people different tastes, give 300K to apple, she will buy one of the models of the porsche cayenne. give 300K to me, i will get the GTR give 300K to mrs, she will get the beemer 6 hardtop
  10. actually hor, it's not the low cars that is the problem making you puke. it's the hardness of the suspension, the harder suspension makes cornering firmer and sharper, but also due to this hardness, every bump and hole on the roads become very pronounced. whereas a soft suspension makes going over bumps and holes very pliant, but high speed cornering u will encounter alot of body roll and the car will feel like a boat. that's why got gadgets like these on the market to *control* the damping force. Can make the suspension/coillovers very soft and comfortable for everyday right, but at the touch of a few buttons, make the ride rockhard for track-style cornering. http://www.tein.com/products/edfc.html more advanced is the kind of suspension system found in the premium model of Audi TT, "Audi's Magnetic Ride Suspension (MRS), which employs a damper to control wheel and body motion with special magnetized fluid in shocks. By governing the current to an electromagnetic coil positioned inside the piston of a damper, the shock fluid's consistency can be changed for continuously variable real time shock damping. The device isolates the movement of each wheel for less bounce, vibration and noise. Ultimately, it produces a flatter ride quality with more precise handling traits." but generally, low cars are *meant* to be more sporty, thus comes stock with harder suspension for cornering stability. whereas higher cars are *meant* for more comfort generally, thus come stock with suspension emphasizing a pliant ride
  11. ya val - pot luck easy - just have food list then we split up on who to buy what - eat alr then throw everything away - no need wash. !!
  12. ohhhh good one - next time if got chance to swim with her - can try.... we always use warm water to bathe her - never cold. When I first took care of my other JRT (also Yuki), we bathed her using cold water and she caught a flu.. so after that we learnt our lesson. !! So I am still trying to find out why Fifi shivers when bathing..
  13. Baby girl escapes horrific car crash which killed parents, brother and grandma By Melissa Sim A TWO-MONTH-OLD baby girl miraculously escaped death in a horrific car crash on Thursday morning that killed her parents, grandmother and brother on the North-South Expressway. She was flung out of the seven-seater vehicle the family was in when it skidded and slammed into two trees along the the 150 km stretch of the expressway near Muar. The crash happened at about 7.30 am. The road condition was said to be dry then. Jolene Bong, who was flung more than 10m from the wreckage, was unscathed but her grandmother Pang Chee Seng, 68, mother Kor Yee Lin, 36, and brother Justin Bong, two, died on the spot. Her father Bong Kwang Hong, 37, a travel agent, died shortly later at the Tangkak Hospital. The seven-seater Mitsubishi vehicle was a total wreck. The baby and her father, who was seriously injured, were rushed to the Tangkak Hospital but Mr Bong died shortly after arrival. Mr Bong's youngest brother, Kwang Sheng, 27, a civil servant, said he was shocked when told of the tragic accident. When interviewed at his flat in Sterling Road on Thursday afternoon, he said he did not know of his eldest brother's trip to Malaysia with his family. 'We have been told our little niece is fine and being taken care of at a hospital in Muar. We have not decided how to deal with her,' said the younger Mr Bong, who left for Muar later on Thursday to bring back the bodies. As he spoke, his distraught mother, said to be in her 60s, was weeping inside the flat. Mr Bong described his dead brother as a 'good son who took care of our mother.' 'We are close to each other and all the family members will meet every month to have dinner together' he added. Muar police said they would investigate the crash and urged eyewitnesses to come forward.
  14. haha.. we never brought fifi swimming before - dont know if she will like it - she shivers when we bathe her so i reckon she's scared of water?
  15. X5? er lose the Porsche by a **** lot. 3.0i only 8.1s 4.8i is a more decent 6.5s but still far far away from this porsches 5.1s - must respect the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, think should be one of the most powerful SUVs around. that's why it says No Compromise. I figured they are trying to say *Anything else is a compromise* haha
  16. apple eyeing this...her fav brand can leave the roadhoggers in the dust
  17. that is very good, the option to choose drivetrain. cos 2WD is good enough for singapore/msia main roads for SUVs, u can engage 4WD when go to rough and tough terrains, jungle trail....but seriously, how often does our SUVs need to go thru such punishing terrains? mostly the switch will be left at 2WD, save petrol. (but the comfort of knowing 4WD is available too is good)
  18. "The Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire sedan has been unveiled in India, and comes with a choice of either a 1.3 liter SOHC petrol engine or a 1.3 liter Multijet DOHC common rail intercooled turbodiesel engine. The petrol engine produces 87 bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4,500rpm, while the oil burner makes 75 horses and 190Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. Both petrol and diesel variants are available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Dimension-wise the Swift Dzire sedan is longer than the Swift hatchback of course, but keeps the same wheelbase of 2390mm. The following table lists the differences between the two dimension-wise. Swift Swift Dzire Length 3695mm 4160mm Height 1510mm 1530mm Width 1690mm 1690mm Wheelbase 2390mm 2390mm Boot space varies between 440 liters and 464 liters depending on trim level. The larger boot space value is available on the Lxi, Ldi, Vxi and Vdi trims, probably because of the slimmer tyre profile (165/80R14 versus 185/70R14) which means the spare tyre does not take as much space in the boot. Safety features include ABS brakes, EBD, and dual front SRS airbags, which Maruti Suzuki claims are safety features that are not usually seen in this segment. Not all trim levels have them though. Spec level is relatively high, with some variants getting automatic climate control." looks weird if u ask me
