Hi David, The hob is a beauty isnt it? Electrolux has a shop in IMM and i got it there. There is no model name as far as I can remember, its just known as keyhole hob. there are 2 things to note: 1. If i heard and remember correctly this hob is suitable for LPG gas only not applicable for citygas. A similar model for citygas is not available here or something. But, please check again with the sale person! 2. Due to its unique shape, you have to get a carpenter that has very good worksmanship to cut it (kitchen top) well else it will not misfit and that is really not desirable. If there is anything else you wld like to know, feel free to ask me Happy renovating!

Thanks casa! I didnt notice that there wasnt skirting! hahah.. ultra blur I just asked hubby, he said there will be skirting and its to be up after doing the carpentry. (he was surprised that I mentioned this question to him. HAH!Thanks to u casa, he wont think im one big blurblock). In the pic there is no skirting on that wall cos we will be doing culture stones - brickwall.

Mine is ave 5 (an avenue from u!) just opposite the canal. There are 2 coffee shops there, from my house, past the 2 coffeeshops and across the junction is Hougang central. its about 10mins walk.

Whoooopeeee! The living room laminate has been completed! Tadah! Sorry for the bad quality images, I went after work so not enough lighting in the house and the camera flash makes it look worse. Lucky it was still bright outside. This is the overall view of the living room. This is the colour contrast so you get an idea of the flooring shade. Carpentry is expected to be up I think next week. The living room will look different when its done We have not gotten ANY FURNITURE YET! Hope hubby can have a bit of free time and give me a few hours to discuss about our furniture else when its done I will move in without a sofa or bed or dining table. Just us and my dog.

Thanks Casa! Laminate will be done by today. (I hope! else i'll be ) I realised that I have not post any inspiration pictures to share which direction I'm going with in terms of style. Well, my hubby and I have similar taste for the living room, his office will be his territory, the kitchen will me mine. As for our masterbed room, I think we have to give in (plus take fengshui master's advise) and compromise. For our living, we like the styles (shown below) so hubby took elements of both and add them to the designs of our home. I cant really explain how cos I dont have any drawing to show, but pics will be up soon!

I always wanted one burner to slow cook stew and soup and another induction for quick cooking, stir fry pasta and sorts so this unit is perfect! Panasonic microwave oven with convection Ovenwise, a combination oven is I think better than having one microwave and one oven for baking or steaming. It saves space! Philips kettle

So, the only area in my house I can call my territory - THE KITCHEN is inspired by clean, sleek lines, steel and black and a bit of grey. So my request to hubby is to make me a nice kitchen so I can cook for him nice meals! hahahahaha... Something like this picture. Many people will think its too dark but if you actually consider the whole place, Ive got quite a bit of natural light so that can illuminate the place significantly. We went back over the long weekend to clear up the place so that the guys can do the laminate tmr. Good bye to this raw look and hello to a whole new poshier flooring! Looks like the hammer, scrapper and nail are enjoying the nice cool breeze over this long weekend.

Hello Stinz! Thank you! This flat was a lucky find and we were grateful that we didnt settle of any other flats during the 6months of (very tiring) house hunting. Also, have to give credit to hubby who reconfigured the house and design it such that it suit our lifestyle. As long the whole family is happy, any house is a home. Painted completed.. The workers were efficient! Within a day they painted 95% of our house! the next day, they did touch up and by lunch our house painting was completed. We allow it to dry for the rest of the day. Good thing our area is always windy 2 of the 6 colours! Its unfortunate that the long weekend is approaching and so our laminate flooring can only be done on tues. I will snap some pics of it then ..whooopee! Today hubby will have to drop by our place to receive the fridge! Here it is, a samsung 570 Litre. The little compartment with a seperate temperature setting is going to be awesome for thawing food!

Its been almost a month since I updated this post.. I was too sick to visit the house until today and boy am I pleased. Hubby has been busy with other client's renovations and so our house's progress will be slowed down drastically.. Well, this gives me more time to hunt for the perfect sofa. Some photos.. Thanks mike n casa! I will in good time Once tiles in the kitchen is up, it will make it different! Having a bit of problem with getting a long sofa, abt 3m long. Any idea where I can get it? Hubs says he will have it custom-made to his design.. but i dont wish for him to take the trouble, especially in the midst of all his projects. Ive check commune, ikea, harvey norman, seahorse and a few others but none carry those designs that allows us have a choice to join up or place them seperately. bummer.

The electrical-related phase is almost done. The aircon uncle came, installed the aircon - 0.5 day Electrical team came and removed all the wires - 1 day (together with aircon installation) Electrical team to rewire the whole house - 1 day Electricians are very efficient.. 6 workers allocated to do our unit... they finished in 1 day what other solo electricans would have needed 3-4 days to do I. WANT. TO. MOVE. IN. SOOoooooN. Feeling fabulous! Next phase tiling by parents-in-law and false ceiling!

But the one I wanted is the raw, old school kind - To make my own furniture and display art piece I found some really old one in malaysia but it start to rot after a while... ewwww.. The ones u have in the pic are commercial ones and are normally treated before use. Anyway, have you found where to get yet?

Hello applepie *wave*.. yes, the homeowner kept the house in gd condition, plus they didnt inbuild any thing (except in kitchen) so when they move out, it was nice n clean. Think becos of the lack of inbuild items, the valuation was low! In my opinion, we got a gd deal considering that prices of house is crazy!
