  1. Hi Shumin, Love your ideas...have ever thought of doing chalkboard but husband don't like it and long island kitchen table but due to space and budget constraint, won't be hacking down any wall and also try to do as minimum as possible. Most probably I will do the basic necessity first and diy some of the stuff. Btw, when will you start your reno? Your 5 rm flat very spacious!! So envy...haha Emobebe
  2. hi sgdstuff, Actually, I also have the same question how you partition your living room in order to have a dining area? I have seen this type of design before during my searching for resale flat last year but it is a bit unique. Will it be cramp?? I will do some wall partition too but i haven't finalised yet where to put the partition wall. LOL cheers:) Emobebe
  3. Hi Immunity, Can pm me your quote? I also will be doing my 4rm. Thanks:) Emobebe

  5. haha, immunity reno blog become the main focus now for alan's supporter. joey >> I just clear my mailbox but I guess very fast full again. Received a lot of messages. I have gotten alan's initial quote but I request him to verify on site measurement for the final quote. I not sure how would you want to carry out the 'buying power' plan cos it seems everyone here already approached him for the initial quote and everyone is doing different reno stuff. Nevertheless, you can share with us your plan and see whether it works. Thanks! cheers:) emobebe

  9. Hi Stinkers, In my opinion, the new living room design is nicer. Simple, neat yet stylish. However, both WIW not very nice. I think could be flowerish stuff. But this is my personal opinion only. No offence ya...haha Ultimately, you see which one suitable your lifestyle and taste... Cheers:) Emobebe

  16. Hi neubie, Not sure whether I should ask this about the hdb main door? Can we laminate it? I find that my new place's main door still in good condition. The only thing that the colour doesn't really match my new theme. So, thinking to do some make over on this door. Emobebe
  17. Hi neubie, Thanks for your reply and explanation. Cheers:) Emobebe
  18. Hi, I just bought a resale flat which undergone Home Improvement Program. The HDB contractor offered me that kind of toilet which is similar to your picture but I have no idea where they get it. Btw, I didn't opt for this one cos when I went to check it out, the contractor's admin girl told me not really hygienic. I am not sure what does that mean maybe the water passageway run into the same tank or whatever it is. I didn't choose it mainly because the design does not appeal to me. Cheers:) emobebe
  19. Hi Neubie, Thanks for your assurance. By the way, one more question about your doors. WOODEN DOORS To supply & install new 02 set of wooden door frame for 02 bedroom To supply & install 02 set of veneer wooden door for 02 bedroom c/w lock To supply & install 01 set of solid nyatoh main door c/w lock When Allan quoted the venner wooden door for you, it is comes with the wooden door frame or you personally ask for it. How much charges for each door frame ya? Just curious. I was quoted with the veneer wooden door but not with the frame. I got a friend who tell me that it should come with the door frame. So, not sure about this. Better ask you...LOL Thanks! Emobebe
  20. Frankly speaking, I don't know what to say. If follow drawings still will goes wrong means there is something wrong with your contractor. I will have my gas cylinder there too so I think I will take note of this. I hope you are okay...don't be too upset or angry...not good for your health. Look at optimistic side that your reno will end soon.... Cheers Up!!!! Emobebe
  21. Hi Idealistic, I can understand your situation. I have shortlisted one contractor to do up my place soon but the electrical quotes a bit higher. Thinking to nego but again if the price still no change, I have to outsource due to budget constraint. The only thing worry me most is when something happen, not sure whether they will point to each other....touch wood!!!.... If you have read may_dream's latest post, she has commented that the price quoted by her main con is higher by 1k!!!!! compared to latest electrician that she gonna use to do up her place. Sighs....lets cross our fingers!!! Emobebe
  22. Hi May, Your reno seems very fast. Glad that you managed to get a reasonable quote from an electrician to work on your new place. Btw, care to share the contact as I am looking for one too? I see your remark that you need to assess the electrician's performance first. So, I will wait till everything is settle down in your new place. Cheers:) Emobebe
  23. Hi neubie, Thanks for your reply. I am glad that you are still here. I have been reading your T-blog. Your place has been done up so nice and simple! By the way, you meant 1.9k for the following rite? ELECTRICAL WORKS Whole unit re-wiring including new MCB box and PG power supply testing. 32 lighting points + 3 scv + 2 tel pt + 12 x 2way 13A + 2 x 1way 13A + 1 x 15A + 1 x 20A + 6 x 3gang lightswitch + 1 x 1gang lightswitch + 4 x Cat5e I was quoted by Allan verbally about 2.6k for re-wiring (my 4rm flat) but he didn't mentioned clearly the other day when I met him up what are the things included. Did you tell Allan how many electrical points you need or based on his recommendation or the re-wiring package already have standard items? Sorry, I am a bit blur about this. Need your expert advise.. Thanks Emobebe
  24. Hi, You need to find those BLUM certified dealer but I don't know how much cheaper it is. I am looking to buy a few hinges from them but I haven't do so because waiting to confirm my Contractor ID's quotation after his on site measurement. Not sure if group buy will be slightly cheaper??? LOL I read some comments from other forumer that you need to know exact size of the hinges (confirm with your carpenter) before you buy else you can't change after you buy. Cheers:) Emobebe
  25. Hi neubie, Not sure whether you are still here. I would like to check what is the total cost of your rewiring? If you don't mind, just reply here will do. Thanks Emobebe
