  1. My personal opinion is Hans Grohe raindance series.. I have been using for more than 5 years... still excellent.
  2. OIC, but seriously does the association really take action about such cases? I think even CASE cannot really take action except note it down. But I heard Singapore is coming up with something called the 'lemon' law. Not sure if we can use that for previous purchases though.
  3. Depend on government? For what? We are not asking Government for subsidy - just don't sell out our land.Singapore is not for sale. Personally, I owned 3 private properties (2 of them less than 900sqft) - no choice have to buy in advance for my son and daughter. Call me kiasu. Those who do not, in 20 years time, it won't be affordable anymore. Recently an indonesian friend of mine bought 11 units of a mass market condo. In 5-10 years time, he intends to sell back to us Singaporeans at a much higher price. Better still I know another Malaysian PR colleague who rented out his private property and bought a HDB resale ( I seriously don't know whose name he used in the purchase, maybe mother's). For those Singaporean who are paying their mortgage for the next 30 years, you jolly well know who contributed to it.
  4. If prices of housing escalates at this rate, in 20 years time our sons and daughters will have to stay in Johor Bahru or Nusajaya! Just like Minister Khaw Boon Wan is asking Singaporeans to go Johor for health care. Ironic isn't it? We have Foreigners staying in prime district and even public housing, while Singaporeans cannot afford to buy public housing. Even our roads, priority for COE should be given to Singaporeans. I mean you see all these foreigners owning a few cars and our Singaporeans got to squeeze into MRTs. They should have different category of COEs for foreigners.
  5. Hedges park going for 850psf median price? and its only 99years. What is the value of edelweiss now?
  6. I used to go to one of those shops that does picture framing. they have got lots of nice frames and even provide the mirrors. Price is also very reasonable. You can try in Geylang Serai..

Do they have an outlet at Suntec? I didn't know that and I used to work there. I was at their store in Loyang, sales people are friendly and helpful.. Its their warehouse store, maybe can get better price, I'm not sure though.
  8. 4.5K!!! I seriously think its a ripped off. No way Genuine leather looks like this. I think you should put this on Stomp. I bet they will replace your sofa immediately, otherwise they risk losing their reputation.
  9. So maybe these terrace house should create their own parking spaces just like condos. For condos they pay monthly maintenance and the parking spaces are included in the property prices. Some condos also charge extra for additonal cars. Hence, landed property owners should not complain, since they get 'free' parking spaces when parking on the roads. Maybe the developer of these cluster housing should build-in the prices of additional parking spaces for these terraces and create private carparks. I was driving past changi heights the other day and saw home owners using anything from rubbish bin to flower pots to reserve a parking lot. and the road is constructed using taxpayers money. So I wonder why these landed property owners are complaining about condo owners using the road space for funeral wakes.
  10. These terrace houses along Mariam area, all have private parking lots within their compound. But it puzzles me why they chose to park outside and hence, causing the usable road space to be narrowed. I notice it is 'troublesome' for these terrace home owners to open their gates and drive their car in, as it takes more than 3 minutes to complete the entire excercise. Having said that, people are just getting too impatient or lazy these days. In the end, they still can find lots of time complaining to MPs.
  11. By the way, may I know how much you spend on the sofa set? and how does the price differs from their in-house sets?
  12. Oh I'm bringing my 3 year old boy to start networking at the CC this weekend. Maybe in 15 years time, he can run for ministerial positions... can also save uni fees. Dun waste time sending him for tuition classes.
  13. Haha... u are right about the passion thing... I think quite alot of these guys actually forfeited their deposits. Sometimes, if you found a right person, u jus have to move fast. I'm lucky I had kids within 3 years of knowing my wife.. it really brings the family closer together. I think if I have to wait for like 5 years, the passion would definitely fizzle. So what if the govt keeps giving out baby bonus? without a house, how to start family?
  14. When I was working for one of the big four accounting firm, I used to have this foreign senior who was bragging about him being younger than us... Our first few months were like BMT... except kenna tekan by foreigner...But that was more than a decade back... Anyway, I believe it is reasonable for foreigners to buy HDB or mass market private properties here, afterall we are a free market. However, they should regulate foreigners who come here and buy like eg 10 units of surburban freehold condos for investments purpose. It creates a very unstable property market. Furthermore, it deprives most of our younger generation Singaporeans from working hard and owning a private property. For example, I got this newly recruited fresh grad in my department, who had to wait till 2015 to get the keys to his HDB... If he can settle down by buying a cheaper resale flat, he can start a family earlier and contribute to our declining birth rate, and we don't have to resort to importing foreigners..
  15. I did two and a half years in Tekong and absolutely enjoyed it.. But after finishing Uni, and going out to work in an MNC, I realised I am 2 or 3 years behind my foreign peers. I mean I was kicked around by this PR who was my age, and he was senior position because he skipped NS. He had a good headstart, and could afford a HDB much earlier than me... also, it didn't help that my recruit pay at that time was $175... 2 1/2 years of income loss is quite a big deal
  16. I don't mind foreigners or PRs buying houses, if they really wanna reside here. Just the other day, I was viewing condo unit at some mass market condo launches and was told a PRC guy paid hard cash for 10 units... I mean, if they invest in prime property, I got nothing to say lah... but now mass market properties also kenna taken up by foreigners, how we Singaporean citizens ever gonna upgrade?
  17. Hi, Recently I got a friend who purchased a brand new Japanese inverter system 3 aircon. Previously he uses a Mcquay Non inverter aircon. He claims that the inverter takes very long time to cool, even though he only turn on 2 out of 3 of the aircon units. Does this applies to all inverter aircon in general?
  18. Thanks, but I heard that Starmex is made in Thailand. is LG made in Korea? if that's the case, I would think LG is more worth it.
  19. Oh, I thought everything is from Italy... In their advertisments on straits times, they claimed everything is Italian. If its really from China, then this is gross misrepresentation. CASE should really do something about this.. recently, the Jonal Chong case, where he claimed he was personal stylist for Nicole Kidman, and it turned out to be a scam, I felt that those who took up his packages should have the right to refunds cos of the misrepresentation. It seems like CASE does not have alot of power here, otherwise, you should get your refund.
  20. I think Singaporeans would generally be quite unhappy as most young generation could not get a HDB, while a foreign Chinese National can buy a few prime district condos in Singapore. Wonder what is left for our future Singaporeans. And if it helps, they are snapping up all our COEs as well. Our kids have to take public bus to school.
  21. Bros, how does LG compare to Starmex? All I know is there is a huge price difference.
  22. Hi, recently I decided to change my aircon, as the power consumption is very high. However, I don't want to spend too much, as I might intend to move out next year. Someone recommended me a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Inverter System 3 aircon, Used for a few months at 1,890. The aircon company says they will clean everything before they install. Is this a good buy?
  23. Does Furniture Club have warranty on their sofas. I would expect more from a company that charges so much for their sofas. Have you tried going to CASE?
