Can you elaborate?? Agents are also earning a living and it seemed that your transaction still went thru in the end. I find it hard to convince myself to help you not to pay commission due to 'unpleasantness'.

Building A Lap Pool
zirhk3355 replied to Itchy Fingers's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
The chemicals and water circulation in the pool will prevent the breeding of mosquitoes, algae, etc. You want to swim amongst the fishes?? Then you will have a fish spa akin kenko's...hehe... -

Building A Lap Pool
zirhk3355 replied to Itchy Fingers's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
How big, long and deep the pool will be, really depends on how big, long and deep is the piece of available land you have, isn't it?? And husky is right; to have a clean, circulated/filtered, ph-balanced and levelled water, you need to spend at least $400 per month. This is not including the increase of utilities bills for the running filter. Once you let down on such maintenance, eg algae starts to grow or the filter starts to choke, then it will cost even more to rectify all these. -
Media is indeed a double-edged sword; sorry to say this but I suspect the couple will get more traumatized if this is reported in media. Why do you think everyone seemed to be so hostile to reallove and her hubby? From the guards to the condo manager to the policeman? So everyone is wrong lor, everyone is rude and idi*tic lor, only they are right, huh?? The worst thing to happen is after the matter is brought up in media, the comments coming are those AGAINST the couple, like how they behave in the condo, how the residents actually do not like them at all, etc. That will be really traumatizing!! Remember the classic saying, "When you point your finger at others, four fingers are pointing at yourself!"

First thing is to check the amount you need to top-up for your hubby's CPF after he withdraws from your PIL's flat - I believe this has to be done by cash, since your PIL's CPF already dried up. So do you have this amount, or will your PIL have enough cash to pay him back? If you cannot even settle this then no need to go further already. As for grants and levies, it really depends on your hubby and your own status. There are alot of criteria; check them out on HDB website. If you managed to get a flat via ballot, and both your CPF accounts (including what your hubby will get back after he withdraws from your PIL's flat) got enough for downpayment, then no need to pay alot of cash. But if you buy resale, then there is the cash over valuation (COV) to pay. Lastly, I would suggest that you keep it small first and get a 3-rm flat that you can afford, instead of getting 4/5-rm flat then rent out two rooms. Living with tenants is just as bad as living with in-laws, you won't feel like you have your own lovenest.

I wana learn also leh! Hmmz ok ask u ah, the ballast is screwed onto the light holder, which in turn is screwed on the ceiling. So should I take out the entire holder and change the ballast? Total got 3 ballast to change leh, after that I will have a stiff neck man! -
There is a right way to do everything; no need to get into dispute with the guards or property management. I also do not agree to demanding for the staff to sacked or transferred. If you buy SPH's shares and one day you read an article that you do not like, can you call SPH to have the reporters sacked?? Being an owner of a strata-title property does give you power over the way the property is being managed/maintained, but not in the way you are demanding for. Like yoongf said about inter-floor leaks, I think you are barking up the wrong tree on the guards' issue as well. Do read up more about your rights and do things in a smart way. Go on like that and one day your car kana scratched and even you if KNOW the guards did it, you also can't do anything. And yes, this is a minor dispute, police won't do anything. They will just want both parties to keep peace.

Erm to qualify abit, changing of bulbs I know how to change lah, but its the ballast that's spoilt and that got me daunted. I had been living with a dark kitchen for the past two weeks liao...no time leh... -

No need to activate anything - the switch outside your door is just two wires that you need to connect to the doorbell. If you are renovating your house and engaging an electrician, just buy a doorbell and give it to him to install lor. -

Don't understand - the first deck is already called Deck 2, so you want to put Level 1, then 1A, then 2, then 2A...when will it synchronize with Blk 89?? Remember currently its MSCP Deck 2 = Blk 89 Level 3. You try searching for it in the search box on the right hand top corner. Erm, currently the town council is in-charge of the block; if its really low costs I can try asking the RC to do it, but the point is a really workable idea must be evaluated. Now if we put like 'Deck 2' besides '3' in the lift of Blk 89, won't it be even more confusing? I duno... another idea is putting up signages in the lift, akin those hotel ones? The next thing is also to wonder how long will the labels stay there - our estate has alot of people with itchy fingers you know... -
You have to judge for yourself in its quality; I had a set of drawers where the bottom gave way when its only half-filled with folded t-shirts, but I am still using a DIY L-shaped table since 2000. Both from Ikea. Ikea tend to use alot of lousy chipboard for its cheaper furniture (obviously for low cost), so avoid those. They tend to bend/warp easily after awhile...
