Oriental have 2 or 3 ballrooms i think. Yeah GCW carpet quite old. we actually think the place is quite nice.. did discuss with the coordinator abt how we could revamp the place for the wedding.. shangri-la.. we have too few tables.. we don't think it will be nice.. amara is out coz wife dont like. Yes I know. Unfortunately Mrs Phantom's daddy can't be with us on this special day as he has passed on. I didn't wanna tell Mrs Phantom why i chose this song but i thought that wherever he is, our special day will also be shared by him and that the least i could do in his memory is to dedicate this song for him. honestly i almost shed a tear or two when i was thinking abt this. Friend, the song you posted, quite a nice hippy tune to it... made me think of Hakuna Matata. That is also a very nice song too.. sometimes, these memories really bring you back to the days huh?

lol.. their prices on auspicious date is really pushing it. we actually was thinking of oriental.. very nice.. 1088++.. that one we don't mind but we can't get the min tables.. lol.. grand ballroom is 35 tables.. most likely we'll spend more on the BS/PG/VG/Honeymoon if we take Grand Copthorne. Only gripe is carpet very old, if not still ok..

yeah.. but honestly our top date is on feb. best date to get married and they don't want to give us the date no matter what.... and after talking to them.. seems like they could increase 09 after new year prices as much as additional 100-200 dollars or more a table.. so although the perks were very attractive.. we decided not to. we are only prepared to spend up to 1100 a table. to get our preferred date, we'll most likely pay 1400 a table when the time comes. so its really not economically smart.. unless u got plenty of money to throw...

because i'm the groom? lol just kidding...

tio lah actually was thinking of intercon to hold on 10jan also 2009.. but they charge us 1048++ .. so one table will be around 1250.. so we unlikely will hold there liao..

hmm.. i dunno.. but alot of friends in my sector don't like headhunters.. only a select few think otherwise. of the ones that don't like headhunters, their feeling is that these headhunting firms aren't really interested in your well-being but they just want to match you to another place to get commission only, and aren't likely to represent your interest as they are representing the "other side" I get calls now and then and i just keep the relationship cordial.. because for me I feel that sometimes, the higher you go.. if you can't get a referral by a friend in, it might be difficult to get into a big name firm. Thats where headhunters might come in handy.
