  1. Today Elite mover came to deliver the empty boxes so that we can start our packing. They deliver a total of 60 boxes (10 new boxes for items like clothing), bubble pack, tapes and stickers. Impressed with their service level as today is a public holiday and they still deliver the boxes. Not only that, they explained the usage of each items and even show my wife (I'm not at home) the proper way of taping a box u can see the box taped by Elite mover
  2. wow...8 rolls will be 40m of LED strips will the LED strips be your only source of light in wherever u are placing them? u have to ensure that you expose them closer to the edge and double strips are good option to do if u have extra length.... I'm purchasing new LED strip which the vendor mentioned will be 50% brighter than the current one. The pull-out tall basket system that I bought contains 5 chrome steel baskets and is soft closing. I think at $500+ for 5 is a better deal than the one from Song Cho. You might want to check with Excel HW if there is any promotion going on now. As for the items that will be put in the baskets, that will be the decision of my wife
  3. Managed to find the Excel HW brochure. Should be chromed steel.
  4. Yo Matrox You know what, I'm not even sure what material is that I think from the price I'm paying it should be Chrome.... I purchased the rack directly from Excel HW during one of the Expo furniture event. They are offering 30% off their almost $800 price tag, with free delivery. As for the LED in the tall cabinet, your eyes sharp man ....it's an extension from the kitchen top LED strip. I have it integrated and toggled on/off using a gang switch. Feel that the current purchased LED in the cove is not bright enough for me so I have placed another order for a brighter LED strip which is on it's way to Singapore as we speak.....will comment on the brightness after I have it installed.
  5. Apart from the dinning lamp, the electrician also fixed the LED strip under the top kitchen cabinet and full height pull-out tall cabinet. The carpenter also corrected the door of the full height cabinet to pull out instead of swing door. Happy at last White Fujioh hood to go with the white top cabinet....LED light shinning down from the top cabinet LED strip providing light to the pull-out tall cabinet
  6. Today my electrician finally install our dinning lamp, the "Caboche" pendant lamp. We liked the design a lot as the lamp is made of multiple small acrylic balls.
  7. Today went home and shock to find out that my pull-out tall kitchen cabinet turns out to be a right flip open cabinet. Quickly gave a call to Ice (my ID) and she immediately calm us down and told us not to worry. She will communicate the change required to the carpenter. We have also learned something new today. Actually smooth laminate can be painted too. You have to apply a layer of "Quick Dry Undercoat" before painting. Very happy with the end finishes Before paintingAfter painting
  8. After receiving quotations from Elite, Midwest, Shalom, Santa Fe and Commando movers, we have decided to go with Elite. Choosing Elite partly due to the good reviews from Renotalk forumers, but mainly after talking to Bryan when he came to do a on-site survey and quotation. He is very confidence over their work and can feel that he has great experience in this line. Will comment more after Elite completes the move in Nov.
  9. my almost completed "Double C" TV console Kitchen cabinet
  10. It's quite interesting to see Builder Shops and Imperial folks brought with them strips of wood and start lining them along the whole surface of the top and staple them together. Been told by Builder Shops folk that I will have a joint for the kitchen top as the length is too long for it to get into the lift taking menasurement of the kitchen top common toilet vanity strips of completed layout
  11. Guys from Builder Shops and Imperial Products came to take measurement for the kitchen and vanity tops. While all the measurements are taking place, the carpenter continue with their works.... mbr vanity Living room TV console ID arranged timing and coordinating with the Builder Shops and Imperial folks although I engaged them on m own
  12. The day we have been waiting for, the first day of carpentry work. The carpenter came today to start work in the kitchen, living room, common and mbr toilets. The base of kitchen cabinet and both toilet vanity are up first so that Builder Shops and Imperial Products can come in tomorrow to measure the tops. Kitchen cabinet Formica laminate common vanity mbr vanity living room console waiting to be constructed
  13. Nice blue tiles u have there I'm actually targeting to move in end of Nov and have already started my reno a month ago. I think u should still be able to manage mid Nov if your ID manage all schedules well. Another thing will be you just have to make decisions fast e.g. carpentry design, tiles...... Good Luck
  14. You can still consider using LED light strips for both mbr cabinet and under cabinet light....and $3.5k...should be around there
  15. Aliexpress really opens up the door to buying things from PRC. I have since placed more than 50 orders from the site. All went thru smoothly except for once.....like ebay, u have to check the various supplier for the best deal
  16. My scratched mbr door was changed by my ID last week. I was told that the color is different (see the toilet door next to it) because the door has yet to be lacquered....hope the color turns out ok. Although sad that I have to change the original door (feel that it's more solid) but I'm also happy that my ID took up the responsibility to change the door almost immediately without pushing the blame around as to who damaged the door in the first place. Well done Ice!!!
  17. Not sure if you have already signed up for the flooring with your ID but I bought almost all my tiles (except for kitchen wall which I purchase from Hafary...and 45pcs of the tiles actually delivered cracked) from Builder Shops directly and my ID just billed me for the installation. Builder Shops is having a up to 80% sales then (I think it's still going on) and for those not in the sales list, the salesperson gave me direct discount (since I buy and pay directly to them) as ID/contractor price. They do have marble and granite too, but slightly on the high side. Another place you might want to explore is Imperial Stone at Sultan Plaza if you are looking for marble or granite. Their contractor price on marble and granite are pretty good....
  18. Welcome to renotalk Is that black marble u have there for your living room....and your mbr looks big man.
  19. Just came back from Casa Kidi, the children furniture store. Keen on their low loft bed for my daughter. Anyone purchase from them before? Would also like to know if there are anyone else in Singapore selling similar low loft bed? Thanks.
  20. wow...just a week to moving into the new place!! Challenging man. Make sure that the downlights are properly and rightfully installed. U don't want your false ceiling guy to come back to patch up the holes again. Also, u will still need time to paint the house. All the best my friend
  21. Not sure if you have already do so but have you thought of adding LED strips to your deco. I have bought from a on line vendor LED strip that you can DIY on your own as it comes with remote control and UK plug power adaptor. Price is by far cheaper than those I can find in Singapore. Already installed them in both living and mbr light coves. Will be installing them at TV console and kitchen cabinet once the carpentry is up next week. PM me if you need the contact. bought 15m of LED stripswith remote control to change color living room light cove
  22. I received the LED within 5 days of them sending out....very efficient Will you be installing it on your own or getting your electrician to do it?
  23. Enjoy your furniture hunting journey...could be tiring but enjoy the process For me, I have been to more than 20 outlets before deciding on my choice.....
