    Mine's not Bartley Residences. I'm from another condo. I went to see Your condo's showflat when it was launched. So I recognized it when u show the floor plan 😀

    Wow... Quite a number of defect. Mines not so bad compared to yours. But I like the laminate that the developer use and also how the bathroom is done up.

    In my previous home (HDB) in a mature estate, I made sure I lock both metal gate and door.

    Personally I think it is quite safe for mature estate but of course don't put your guard down. But for new estate like pungol, fernvale, etc where not many people move in yet, it is not safe. My ID told me that the house which her colleague is in charge of renovating got broken into. So metal gate sometime is still necessary. Even if you don't lock , at least it's a deterence.

    Depends on why u want to have digital lock in the first place. For me, i installed it so that I no need to use key. If i have gate and use key for it, then it defeats the purpose of installing the digi lock on the door. So I decided not to have gate at all.

    I didn't install metal gate. The lock companies do sell gates so that u can also install digital lock on the gate.

    Haha. I'm fine with both colors. The silver one will match the handle and the rose gold will match the door. So let wifey choose. I understand they now have champagne gold but that's not my type of color 😆

    Since handing over, the carpenters came over to help me adjust some of the stuff, which I'm grateful for as its not their fault. I need to adjust some shelf and hanging rods higher. Painter also came over to touch up. All in all its ok. I don't expect smooth sailing in the reno based on past experience. Most importantly, ID is willing to rectify the issues.

    We also bought a digital lock... I find it useful because in the previous house, when I'm carrying a lot of stuff, it's difficult taking keys out of the pocket, not mentioning the unlocking process. So my criteria for the digital lock must have fingerprint, card, pin and manual key in case the electronics doesn't work... So the options are down to Yale and Samsung. I let wifey choose and she picked the Samsung one. This model has 2 colors - silver and rose gold Again, I let wifey choose, and she chose rose gold.     In my earlier post, I shared that I bought the mirror below from Ikea. But the color doesn't fit into our theme... ID helped me to paint it to grey... Initally, it's supposed to be stained to dark walnut brown, but after the lacquer is removed, the stain still can't eat into the wood, so the ID's painter suggested to paint it instead. And so I chose grey which is in line with the theme Likewise, the hat stand I bought also doesn't fit into the theme This is the effect after its being painted

    By asking this question, it seems that you have plan to change house in the future. But like what doubleEM bro said, you are going to stay in this one for at least 5 years. Since you are so young, 10 years would be a realistic timeframe. It's important to live in a house that you like and comfortable. By the time you change house next time, you would have earn and save enough to splurge again I stayed in mine for 14 years before moving...
