same same... if dun have to deal with ppl, abit sianz... but dealing with irritating ppl, will be more sianz i still havent settled the prob with the stupid project leader keep psycho-ing my boss to cancel the request away

i've been in desk bound job for more than 5 yrs wor.... travelling jobs got pros and cons lah... the offering job has opportunity to travel overseas for biz trip. tink the other job will not require travelling... i want challenges but not too challenging being in a mundane job for too long... my colleague told me yesterday to faster change job coz he's seeing lazy bugs poking their heads out of me already... yup... 5% is considered quite heng liaoz... my another colleague changed industry but she got pay increment leh... a fren who is in a headhunting company told me my pay is considered quite good among my peers but pay leh... the higher the better lah

i'd say i prefer the other company's job scope. at least dat was wat i've being trying to get into. but whether will keep my interest anot i dunno coz it is another specialised field... consideration being not easy to move on (meaning change job scope)... it will be quite versatile in switching industry but the job scope will still be the same i hope so man... being so down luck for soo long already... but still will kena pay cut...

dat fren's fren doesnt work in that company... hmm... i would say the offering company's benefits so-so loh... i thot will be super good wor... coz the interviewer says of all companies he tink this company is quite good. the other company's benefits i do not know yet. i guess more or less will be the same coz under stat board mah offering job scope is as engineering officer... gotta go to the field etc... the other job scope is desk bound, can dress professionally and nice nice etc haizz.... i've sent the other company an email. if they replied saying i'm not being considered, then my choice is very clear

most probably i will drop them an email. hope they wont find me too abrupt... hubby preferred the offering company... he said seems like more stable the other company has got bad reviews from a fren's fren. but in which area and why, my fren was not told.

i tink both jobs cannot RT leh.... the offer definitely cannot. not sure abt the other one. but dun tink will have time for RT i guess... transferrable skills? i guess the offer is more versatile as it doesnt focus on specific skills... as mentioned, the other is more specialized... will be able to have prospects in law firms later on... should i drop an email to the other company asking abt the results or call the HR? i asked her yesterday and she couldnt give me a definite answer when the results will be out. from wat i know, they advertised again for the same positions 2 saturdays ago.

ya.... thot of the above... travelling distance both are roughly the same...

the time i have is until friday... the other company is a bit slow in response i feel... not much idea wat i'm really interested in... the offer is a more generalized position. mainly project management the other is a more specialized area and i supposed dat is the main biz of the company -- intellectual property management. my thots now is dat as each company grows to be more self-sufficient, will it be possible that 1 day they dun need this 3rd party company to settle their IP issues anymore? but both are stat boards.

i dun tink the other company's response will be soo fast 1 is at depot road and the other is at buona vista... both are far if wanna consider process of going to work and coming back home... anyway, the offer i've got i have to suffer 5% paycut. the benefits are so-so... normal as now ya... tinking of calling the other company up and query... not sure of my chances there too...

sorry gals. hadnt been in the mood to post any replies for the past few days... anyway, just some updates i've finally received an offer... but yesterday went to another company for some written test. both different job scopes. expected to give reply to the offerring company by fri... wonder if i shd wait for the other company's results...

i miss the time with my dog more :X mayb coz for these 3 yrs plus, we went thru thick and thin together... she is always nearby me when i need her last time after quarrelling with hubby (then bf) and reach home, she will always sayang me when she sensed dat i'm feeling down and she is always waiting for me to go home at that particular time of the day if i'm not home by dat time, she will pace to and fro there until i reach home... sometimes she sleeps with me. she likes to lie next to me. sometimes on my tummy and she always stepped on my tummy as if i'm non-existence... i bring her out and have fun with the other doggies, walks nearby every sunday etc... seems like my life is revolved around her when i'm free

some ppl in my block in my new place are invited to collect the keys already i'm feeling happy yet sad at the same time.... once i moved over, no home-cooked meal worse is, no fifi to welcome me home and cuddle me :curse:

one hill still got one hill higher!! dun wan lah... doing the same thing loh wat else... i dun need to ask abt the job scope... coz if change over, will be changing company and working style only... why u say same things as my hubby... he oso asked me to ask abt the salary package! i tink even if i asked for 20% to 30% increment shd be no prob!

yup... i got mine 1 mth before AD better for them to give u slowly and no need anymore amendments!

ya i tink so too... xinyi, cool down... are u abit too gan jiong abt ur wedding? everything is going fine, dun worry! if by april they still never give u then scold them er... i always believe in keeping good r/s with the BS or hotel before ur actual event. in case both parties fall out then wont be very nice liaoz... my ex-colleague who is now the manager of a group just called me. he asked me wanna go back to the company anot wor.... so i asked my colleague whether he interested anot... then he mentioned abt the position i went for interview yesterday! said he saw it in the papers! hope he wont go and apply

ya... if have the chance to venture into this field i will take loh coz after working there for some yrs, can move over to law firms

i tink technically i'm on the upperhand... but my england not strong enuff! like the location more than the other one coz it's within walking distance to the mrt stn though further in terms of mrt stn stops... scope is actually wat i've been hunting for but will be quite stressful during the 1st 2 yrs...

dun tink is considered second round? several scenarios dat i could tink of: 1) they forgot to ask me take the test yesterday 2) they need some time to discuss if i'm suitable then decide if shd let me take the test the interviewer is already the VP of the department. dun tink need another round of interviews, unless is to talk abt salary etc... i guess lah

ya... i've also heard abt the clanging chain stories... my maternal grandmother passed away many years back and i have an uncle (youngest) that is not very sound in the mind but he's normal. just that sometimes the things he said, we do not know whether to believe him anot. he stayed with my grandmother all his life even after he got married. however, when my grandmother was quite seriously ill, my eldest uncle fetch her over to his place to stay. the night she passed away, the youngest uncle did not express any shock or disbelief when my mum they all told him abt the news. he said he saw niu tou ma mian and heard the clanging chain noise... so he had roughly guessed of my grandmother's demise... and my grandmother is definitely going back to see him before her departure coz he's the only one she is worried of... at the funeral which is at the void deck of my eldest uncle, my eldest auntie suddenly shivered and kept pointing to the lift. they believed she saw my grandmother there... also, normally when u leave the funeral site, u have to wash / rinse urself with leaves from a kind of plant. i didnt dat time. so while i went home, i keep feeling there is a presence of someone else in the house... i told my mum abt it and she quickly took the leaves (we have the plant in the house too) and i wash myself with it. after dat, i felt more at ease... another incident i think i might have related it here.... was when i was still very young and sleeping with my parents, i saw a dark figure dat wanted to zoom past my parents' room (their doors are open). however, the dark figure seemed to know dat i've discovered him so he quickly retreat... next morning i told my mum abt it but she said is my sis waking up middle of the nite going to the toilet. i knew she was trying to dispel the fear in me. coz the dark figure is the outline of a man and my sis had long hair that touches her waist at dat time...

kat go bang sai isit? as usual ask those questions loh... i was telling xinyi... luckily i never wear 1 of the black pleaded skirt there... coz 1 of the HR interviewer was wearing dat!! told hubby abt it but still ask me "so wat's wrong?" going back next tues to take a half hr writing test... wonder isit coz they forgot to ask me take yesterday or wat...
