    Diy Lights

Try Ikea's light fitting? http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/products/10081557/ You can get fabric wires from Sim Lim.
  2. Go to beds.sg They have pretty decent ones. Not too bad looking as well.
  3. At $80 pfr, I'll go for granite instead.
  4. No worries. Apologise if I did not make myself clear. The LED downlights are on when I'm drinking/chilling at the dining.
  5. Is there a separate quote just for the top in $XX pfr?
  6. Look at my signature. He did a good job for my toilet & bath.
  7. May_dream1, here is the review for the fan: Sofa's placed under the fan and having monitor it for 3 nights, missus couldn't last more than 1/2 hour w/o blankets on her legs (once she had blanket neck down). Fan's got 3 speed, I usually turn it up to 3. In less than an hour, I'll reduce it to 2. It's not only windy, it's cold. This is with all doors and windows closed and w/o air con. Once I had a friend over for drinks and we were sitting at the dining area and wife was watching TV. I could feel occasional breeze at my legs. Even my friend was commenting about it. This is with windows closed and main door slightly ajar and w/o air con. Verdict: Super silent. Don't expect tornado kind of wind. Initially, I was skeptical as well but proven wrong. Then again, my area is small so it's good enough but a friend installed 1 in his patio. Higher ceiling and outdoor but still can feel the wind on a humid night. I kinda regretted installing air con. Should have had the Sycamore installed in the master and common room as well. Money well spent? Definitely yes! (considering the fact that I had a 20% discount)
  8. Hi Kunzzy, I don't on them concurrently. My cove light gives me more than enough light for the living room and even the dining area. LEDs are for drinking &/ chilling at the dining area. Cove's for eating. Other than that, all lights are off if we're only watching TV. I'm a "darkness", vampire kinda guy and fortunately for me, my wife's pretty liberal with me on that. Bear in mind I've cove light above my dining area as well so it's a "L" shaped thingy. Mine's a small 3NG so it's more than enough. Will take a snap shot of my living room at night when I get time.
  9. I bought my Kartell Dune tray from Lifestorey 2 weeks ago as they were having a huge sale. Initially wanted this WMF tray in red. But succumbed to Kartell instead. The one from John Erdos is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, it doesn't match my theme.
  10. Hi LLChing, Thanks for your reply. Anyway, that might be a strategy from StarH**. Hahahahahha Looks like I'll have to wait for my box to come. Hadn't had the time to go subscribe. Thanks again.
  11. Hi all, When I plugged in the AV cable into my TV, all channels are pretty sharp except for Channel 5. When I watch C5, there seemed to be the "vibrating horizontal lines" on the screen. This has never happened before. The only difference between then and now is I had the AV cable plugged into the SCV box previously and now, I plug it in straight into the TV. Any electrical guru can advice? Could it be the cheapskate wire I'm using?
  12. The black tinted mirror beside the dining table and crystal white glass table top fixed: How it looks like after sunset:
  13. Hi seabass, The washer sits nicely beside the chute therefore it does not affect the opening & closing of the chute. My contractor measured enough space before he brought up the wall where my sink stands. There are no tiles on the wall on the fridge's side. Speaking on tiles on the wall, care to share what are the advantages / disadvantages? Hope this helps.
  14. Sure. That's what sharing photos' for.
  15. Stay tune for: - Quartz kitchen top - Clear white glass dining table top - Full length black mirror beside dining table wall - Black mirror in between cabinets - Toilet & Bathroom + more.... .....coming in the weekends.
  16. Last but not least my half done master bedroom: & my lovely WIW:

  20. I did, and I believe any carpenters can do it. It's just the risk they aren't willing to take. I've looked at the skeleton and with the right tools and lots of time on hand, it can be DIY'ed. Unfortunately, I don't have the right tools and time. Moreover, even if the sofa frame can be shortened, the cushion "can't" be altered. The cushion cover can be easily tailored but the huge amount of time, effort & cost involved just doesn't justify. Eventually, I settled for a 3 seater + chaise instead of the corner sofa and I saved SGD200+? This definitely sounds more feasible...
  21. Unfortunately, I'll have to settle for a smaller sofa set. Still can't come to terms with "small spaces" of a 3NG. Anyway, contractor called to say carpentry's up... Will try to get pictures when I'm free to go down. Projected shift in date: 10th April.
  22. Hi guys, I need some advice. I bought a sofa recently and realised the width is slightly too long. There were some measurement error. It's not assembled yet and everything in my place is in "pieces". Are there anyone out there who are able to shorten the width of the sofa? It seems possible but would need alot of time the the right tools. Anyone?
