  1. Mr merry here. Revised elevation plans just came in. Looking like everything is coming along well. Dint get my bathtub but I got a concrete bench to sit down while showering and can wash my feet easily ! Gonna get the fittings this sat ! More decisions to make ! can't wait for Monday to come faster so my official hacking can come !
  2. Updates by Mrs Merry: Someone enquires about the type of quartz we are using. I did a quick research and found this site : http://www.terrafirmasurfaces.com/kitchen-bathroom-countertops It explains the major brands of quartz tabletop. Ours is HanStone - Aspen. However, we might change to tranquillity (new!!); given that fact that it really looks brighter and almost lookalike like marble! As for Silestone, it basically has an additional anti-micro bacterial protection in each slab - that makes cleaning easier. But to what extent? I really don't know. Oh, I also added Andy's contacts in our signature; thus anyone who needs his contact, can call him up easily. So far, he has been very prompt in replies and assist us in renovation plans - Our reno works start only on coming Monday; will feedback more once things are moving!
  3. Hi Parasaint, It's vinyl flooring that has 4mm thickness with zip and lock system. Hope it helps! - mrs merry!
  4. Friend. Sorry to hear about what happened . But u just spent 100k. U have 1st , 2nd and 3rd floor furniture which no doubt add to the overall cost also and u are asking for professional advise on a internet forum while irritated with spending a few hundred dollars ? If it's a matter of principles, sue them. matter of compensation ? Sue them I would suggest for you to seek a lawyer 's help if u can afford it, I doubt there can be much help here. But u might be still angered over the whole incident n not calm yet. sue them
  5. Bro.... Water stain show up white more obvious on black ....
  6. Wow your living room really nailed it good. Normally I think the brick wall is a trend but when I see that beautiful led tv on that brick wall . The blend of rustic past and modern future is awesome ! The 3d was emotionless where your real living room has a good vibe and loooks just comfy !
  7. Anyway since I can't seem to sleep tonight, highly recommend for wip and ppl just starting out to also check out the post renovations forums here so we can stand on the shoulders of giants and harness their experience!
  8. RnJ > actually our carpentry was arranged by our Id we dint get any quotations from any others hence unable to know if it's expensive comparatively but personally I think it's blood expensive -_- Yup most likely will stick to quartz since marble n solid tops seem to be problematic from what I've read.... It's just a matter of getting that elusive right one that goes well with everything and for Mrs and Mr merry to like it. Lol. Just read some threads on ppl who had trouble with furniture delivered from this store fcc? Now I'm abit paranoid about my table chair sofa and bed frame which I paid in full for already. ...
  9. Because haven deliver yet as hacking will only start next week! Lol can't wait.
  10. My advice is bro, think bout what you really want... In terms of look n feel as Id sometimes lead u down a road that they like or cheaper to do, but it might not be what you want. Look Ard for more ids, or contractors if u know what u need. Before plunging down the rabbit hole, it's good to have a idea where u wanna go! Best of luck for your renovations!
  11. wa u said it best when u said " Feels like it's a waste to hack it all away but there's no way I'd keep the toilet looking like this!!" i think it applies to your place overall. Its of qood quality and probably the condition isnt too bad also but its just not what u want.. Planning n planning! got any mood pictures that you have an idea of how you want your place to look like?
  12. Updates from Mrs Merry: I decided to change the toilet doors from white louvre doors to sandblasted glass door. After much consideration, the high maintenance of louvre door - plus need to be extra careful when washing the toilet ( cannot have water seeping through our laminated flooring). I chose clear glass with sandblast film. We should be choosing metal coin turn lock vs the others. As for frames, Andy suggested using option 02 instead 06. Pending Mr Merry to make his decision. Oh! And I missed out of the internal laminates from the earlier post. Here it goes. Beige without grain lines.
  13. Updates from Mrs Merry: Dilemma on the material for countertop and back splash. We really love the white marble colour. I'm having doubts on our quartz selection. As our counter top and back splash will be the same quartz. How?? What do all of you think? Marble against our kitchen laminates. Laminate against our quartz tabletop in natural light Andy said our table will be like the picture next to it. Seriously - the material colour just doesn't look like the image. Maybe the image is photoshopped??
  14. Woo! Great minds think alike! - Mrs Merry
  15. Mr Merry, Andy showed us the other day. It's the trimming of the edges when laminates meet. Rem?
  16. Hi Juxstapose Hmm im not particularly sure about which laminates are those.. ive saw the usual suspects of lamitek n the chinesename one.. dint really find out bout that... Whats ABS by the way?
  17. Actually I kinda think the id 3d drawing is quite realistic as in all beige white does help to make the kitchen a uniform look and gives a "wider" area feel. Dark colors often gives a heavy feeling. regarding contrasting colours that's just a preference for most ppl. Wads important is the overall feel for the kitchen. and wether u as the owner like the color scheme as you are the one looking at it for the years to come
  18. Wa why your id let the aircon guy do the trunking untill likddat . Id have to ensure where it goes if not it will affect the whole look .
  19. Mr Merry here. Im so glad Mrs Merry has such similar taste to me and that i can trust her to make decisions if need be on her own. =) Such sweetness and smooth flow for both wedding n renovation preparations all thanks to her. Its really such a great feeling to have a partner in crime to work on projects like these in our life! Anyway i think most likely we will be going for option 2 for the internal laminates. Cant wait for more progress and actual renovations to start! @macuser77 Thanks! -_- i think ur hubby and me can be dream team. Ants killer.. idea..
