  1. looks good no wonder u were looking for a green-based clock ... how much did u pay for it and from where ah ?
  2. carpet ... i'm looking to order a carpet ... problem is trying to figure out which store to buy from based on the top 10 list of carpet manufacturers in china ... have to wade through the whole list siah .... but looks like those shaggy carpets (1.4 x 2m) cost about sgd100 from an established brand, b4 shipping...
  3. hmm, interesting percentage...wonder if it will be lower lower if there isn't a large item in there cos repacking those together theoretically should save $$ .... need to do some calculations
  4. eh, out of curiosity, did you manage to work out how much your daigou shipment cost added to your item cost, e.g. added x% to the TB item cost ?
  5. kim, hold your freight forwarder/daigou orders...this option could be a better deal as there's a bunch of these service providers on TB who focus only on shipping: taobao CN-SG shipper I like that they explain clearly how the shipping is calculated, and they support payment by UOB and DBS. (例:11KG是11*30=330元;11.5KG是12*30=360元) In english, Below 11kg, First 500g - rmb68 Subsequent 500g - rmb20 e.g. 1 kg = 68+20 = rmb88 Above 11kg, Every kg - rmb30 e.g. 11kg = 11*30 = rmb330 Volumetrically, Volume = length (cm) * width (cm) * height (cm)/6000 = volumetric weight in kg e.g. the box may weigh 1 kg but if it's dimensions are 20 x 30 x 40, then the volumetric weight is 20*30*40/6000 = 4 kg, then you will be charged for 4kg Not sure if this is more competitive than the amcon express one - anyone can verify ? Btw, out of curiosity, for those of you who paid by Visa, was there any additional admin charge imposed by Alipay ? If SGD is strong, it would be cheaper for me to pay that way than to use my china bank account ...
  6. oh, u like this style ? try this one ... his stuff is hand-made ... 青藤院落 原创设计 手工制作 时尚红木挂钟 编号024

  8. btw, anyone knows how much something like this costs in SG ? think it's being sold at those collectible shops down at China Square Central but must make a hike there to check out the prices so want to see if anyone knows b4 i go ...
  9. forgot to add, i've not done a study on which Chinese brands are good for 落地灯 (they're very specialised, brand for table lamps vs floor lamps vs bulbs etc can be very different) but just doing a search on TB for 落地灯 shows the following brands which are the most popular ones: 奥朵 欣兰雅舍 亮朵 伦灯灯饰 韵雅灯饰 光印 世源 灯饰集和 好视力 艾邦 品信 for fans, 艾美特 is a very old and established brand - i have one, very good, powerful and quiet...my mom said i should have shipped back another one ...
  10. eh...u ever think about ikea or not ah ? was using this at my mom's house - uses energy saving bulb...good and cheap LERSTA Reading/floor lamp, aluminium
  11. heh heh...my "forwarder" in this case is my friend's hubby coming home... depending on who's coming over, this changes the button coasters (looks like black) is next to the bubble wrapped items...the 2 boxes on the extreme right are the cheong J-me remote control caddy...
  12. waiting for my tb stuff to be delivered next week ... the button coasters are somewhere in the middle of the image ...

  16. ong, u were looking for clocks ? this shop on qoo10 seems to have very interesting ones, even got frog... azamall on 2nd look, gosh, i saw this same one at molecule and it was retailing for $300+... here it's only $40+...
  17. cos of the hansgrohe 30th anniversary sale last year and the peace of mind in buying it here if there are any issues ...
  18. i didn't buy any furniture (besides the acrylic chair mentioned in the blog, dunno how good yet, will update once it arrives) nor lights from taobao cos i prefer to be able to see them, even when i was living there ... i think frankman's blog has some links on lighting as well ... i was considering buying hansgrohe/grohe taps but decided not to ...
  19. ya...i have the same thoughts, except i've bought the ikea white basket instead of the samla boxes (those i will get from toyogo instead)...and i find the ikea basket i bought a little expensive so i may buy those transparent ones from the pasar malam downstairs ($5 or something for the same size)...howard's storage world also got some reasonably priced house-brand ones too, like $4+...
  20. i want to visit both ur galleries ! btw, i think howard's storage world is carrying almost everything we've ordered so far for Oxo, and also some of the madesmart stuff like this one below: Madesmart 17-1/4 by 11 by 18-1/4 to 32-Inch Expandable Under sink Shelf Organizer Ummm, after seeing it and the demo by the HSW person, I'm not so sure if this one is really practical to buy ... i'll think about it ...
