  1. I'm staying in Teck Whye, near Bukit Panjang.. Why i choose there? 1. Walking distance to my sister-in-law place 2. Near to my wife's work place 3. Near to Johor Bahru (my home town) Alot of my friends stay in Jurong West. 1. Price is relatively cheaper 2. If you work in town and if you drive, good. Morning go work no jam. Evening go back home also no jam. After all, very much depends on yourself..

  4. i just purchased LED downlights from Avalon JB at RM160. Comes with osram driver and 3 years warranty for the light fixture and driver. You may refer to my T-blog for photos. There also selling RM48.00 kind of LED downlights. For normal light fixtures, i done my shopping at Best Lighting Johor Jaya. I'm planning to get KDK fans from there as well. For more quality, designer lightings, you may wish to go for Avalon.
  5. I'm going through an ID , naturally the price will be higher.. Plastering is labour intensive, thus price is higher. For you, i guess it'd be in the region of S$1k++ Wanna do or not, up to u lo. For me i like smooth smooth surfaces, somemore i have cove lights.. if no plastering, the ceiling will be **** awful when the light brings out the uneveness of the ceiling.
  6. lol i most likely will only sign up late December or Jan 2013.. haha now need to get OpenNet to fix the connector, which was damaged by my reno contractor :S
  7. for your info, my plastering cost about $2,200.00, including 4 bedrooms , living, dining and kitchen area.. Mine is a 146 sqm
  8. Public Holiday = Money spending day... Today stay at home nothing to do. Went to Avalon lighting shops, initially just wanna look see, end up bought some light fixtures.. LED downlight 15W with OSRAM driver (3 years warranty) RM160 / S$65.00 <-- i know its expensive. You can opt for "zap mark" ballast at RM120.00. There is also not-so-good LED downlight selling at RM48... huge diff ! But when you compared both side by side, u'll go for the more quality one.. Well, anyway both are made in China...

Bro any research done on ceiling fan? will u be installing any?
  10. no offence to the owner of this thread and/or other forummers.. but i think for the benefit of other forummers, requests for contacts should be done in private rather than posting in the thread. In my opinion threads should contain something more informative/meaningful, such as homeowners' updates, comments and discussions rather than flooded with "requests for contacts"... Well, I subscribe to this topic and often got prompted with new replies, but it is rather disappointing to see the new replies are actually requests No offence to bro lancified and/or those who posted, just wanna share my sentiments ..muahaha
  11. Just finalized the electrical layout.. 24 double points 9 single points 27 lighting points 6 fan points and other misc...points..

  16. One of the main concern is, in the future, if the underlay tiles start popping up, it may damage your new floor tiles. Is all up to you whether wanna take this bet. The safetest way is of course hack the existing and re-lay, provided if you have the budget. For me, i only overlay the existing floor tiles with laminated flooring
  17. It's time for some updates.. Initially, was thinking of resort/cosy style. After consulting FSM, he proposed black/white/grey aka. modern design. Well, i'm not so resistant to that, hence heeded his advice.. Here's some perspective drawings:- View from main entrance - Living Room , well i'm not so like about the tv feature wall.. ID gonna come up with something else Dining area - Wet kitchen on the right.. Wet kitchen - Front view Wet Kitchen - Rear view Simple bathroom
  18. Dear forummers, My ceiling height is about 2.6m... is it very low? i feel that it's lower than others Anyway i'm not going to have false ceiling, only L-box. What is the height limitation ? which is safe? I'm looking at KDK 56" fan with the height of about 430. Will it be too low ?
  19. Well tv channels is the least important for me... I dun watch f1 or epl either. I'm more concern with the services, reliability and speed.
  20. Dear forummers, I'm looking at "bundle" plans for my coming new home. Mind sharing your experiences with Starhub/Singtel, particularly on the fiber broadband services? Thanks !
  21. I have been to houses with and without ceiling fans. ceiling fans will increase the ventilation, although you might not really feel the wind, but at least you wont feel stuffy. Without ceiling fan, you really need to on the aircon or get a standing fan. I saw bad remarks on Dyson fans. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52338&st=0&p=744628&hl=dyson&fromsearch=1entry744628 My flat which is currently under reno, will have 6 ceiling fans. 4 in bedrooms and 2 in study and living room respectively...
  22. Thanks for sharing the tips ! U going for top mount or under mount?
