  1. Hi lala. Discount was so insignificant we'd rather he don't give hahaha. But good la at least we know his quote is not luan luan lai 1. Ya he can be quite forgetful at times : Me: 你为甚麼不要写下来。 K : 不用啦
  2. Hi mrmerry. Sad to say full pics can only be up when the fridge and other misc things arrive. By the way are you glad you didn't get the sound bar? For me the urge of getting 1 fades over time as I realised I can live without it. The sound from your sony should be decent enough
  3. Hi all! Too lazy to learn multi quote, so will reply "manually"... @ art: Hi! I bought it from self-fix. Frankly speaking I've not tried the shark. Reason for getting this is its brand haha. On a side note, your reno is very well done! @ oldskool: HeLlo! I'm not too sure as there's no cement screed mode on the mop. But I personally won't take the risk as cement screed is porous. Even if yours is coated with a layer of waterproof lacquer or something, the hot steam may erode the protective layer in the long run. There's also a risk of leaving water marks. @ cookiegal and all : Wire can get in the way as you mop (just like a vacum cleaner if you get what I mean) I think all steam mops will have this wire issue unless there's a rechargeable 1 The 2 pins on the power plug are thicker than norm, and it'll be troublesome to plug in and out as you switch places for mopping. I would suggest getting an adapter for it. And yes it is standard Singapore voltage, but I can't figure out why they come with that irritating fat pins. For the amazon pros, yes its slightly cheaper over there. But you'll also need to shift the transformer frequently when you switch area. I personally think that it's not worth the money saved. As for the water tank, I believe there'll be moulds/algae disgusting deposits after awhile even if you air it after use. So need to get those bendable sponge to clean (you'll get what mean if you use steam iron) Hope my review helps !
  4. We waited for 1 full month.
  5. Hey no worries about being offensive ! This is the place to share opinions / information. My reply was also quite harsh, though I didn't mean it. Should've inserted a smiley
  6. Frankly speakinh I did a google after seeing Z3phy's post, and like what ucypmas said, their website stated the 18-8 grade stainless steel (though I dont know what that means, all I know is that it's SS). There are no rumours and any other things on the web on representing song cho products are not SS. Doesn't mean those who buy song cho are well to do, it's just that some have different priority. Like me and my wife think LEDs are unnecessary cost.
  7. Ya very direct. Haha. Stainless steel or not, the lifetime warranty gives us assurance.
  8. Hi ucypmas, Wow yours is real fast considering ours is also a major overhaul 5 rm resale. It shows how slow we are (not he slow, but fault lies with us). By the way we totally agree with you on cheap good fast doesn't coexist as we have learnt it the hard way. I missed a point. He's not generous with discount. This is good as it goes to show that his pricing is "real". We have encountered some giving ridiculous discounts, which shows that their quotations are heavily inflated. One of my favourite part was no limits on power points. We now have lots of power points and it really helps in vacuming and also saves us the trouble of buying extension plugs. Do invite us to your place when it's done. You're more than welcome to drop by ours too. Haha. Alternatively we'll ask K on pics of your home as we figured that you won't be interested in posting pics ;-)
  9. Hi Z3phy, Just curious, regarding song cho products not being stainless steel, where did you hear it from ? I've got friends who are using the same dish racks for more than a decade and it's still good to go. Thanks in advance !
  10. Hahaha I guess so. We decided to take it slow this time round as we rushed through during our first reno, resulting in shoddy works. Furthermore we added quite a number of last minute carpentry. So I presume you have engaged him too ?
  11. Final review on our contractor Mr. K: On hindsight, we were glad that we went to a contractor this time round as the home is truly a reflection of our lifestyle and personality. Though some IDs that we met were good (like Cadine from Prozfile), the designs, although nice, seemed to lack the personal touch. In a nutshell, it's not by us. Also, we were glad that we had engaged a contractor as it allows us to have a bigger budget on furnishings instead of paying exorbitant prices on mediocre standard fittings by most IDs. On Mr K., like what others said, he's good, good and really good. Our reno has been relatively fuss free thanks to his dedication. He was never late for appointments, and his workers are all top notch and yet humble and friendly. During our first reno, we used up almost a whole roll of masking tape to indicate faults/error subsequent to the handover. As for Mr.K, it was 2 tiny pieces, and they're all cosmetic rectifications. By the way, the sub-con bosses will do the rectification work themselves, which impressed us. It also helps that Mr K has an artistic streak, though we can sense that he has a preference for industrial raw rustic feel. In the beginning, he kept stressing that our home is 冭白, and also that its very far (though we actually stay quite near him). We had problems deciding on Smeg fridge colour and as my wife has utmost trust in his taste, she insisted that we seek his advice. As usual, he was right (though we do not have pics to show yet as ours is a left hand hinge which needs customisation). As for responsibility, we can say that he's number 1. It's hard to find such a responsible and committed contractor (our previous ID was only good at chasing us for payment though job was badly done, and likes to pull a fast one by throwing technical jargons). For Mr. K, he doesn't chase payment (which makes us think that he's rich hahah) and he works based on mutual trust. On the contrary, it is us who initiates payment. After the handover, we were expecting lots of cleaning to be done and were even prepared to pay for "Ah Ma on wheels". Luckily for us his workers did a very good job in cleaning, and the flat was almost spotless. My wife and I are actually very demanding and fussy customers (previous ID told us he regretted taking up our job), and he has actually surpassed our expectations. Working with him was a breeze and we treat him like a friend rather than another normal business dealing. Lastly, our reno process may seem very long. But the delay was due to our part as we didn't want to rush through the whole process.
  12. Curtains and a bit more... Quite a hectic day. Sofa, tv console, curtains, store racks arrived: With the ugly telly: I personally think that the TV (which my wife insisted on) looks bad on the sideboard. However ,being TV addicts, she stressed that we shouldn't change our habits/lifestyle just because it doesn't look good, and so heck it. Hopefully the arrival of the fridge and dining chairs will draw away the attention away from the ugly telly.
  13. After 4 months of wait... The purchases from bo have finally arrived after some screw ups. Nevertheless, we were very happy with the service provided by the installers and the quality of the items. Though we bought only 3 items, they took a solid 3 hrs to install. Very impressed in their professionalism and they were very neat with minimal mess. Dining table and sideboard: (to be frank we have not seen the real thing as they do not display all items. Luckily they looked better than online) We thought the table and sideboard could be easily shifted. Boy, were we wrong ! Dining chairs and fridge will only arrive in approx. 2 mths' time. Hopefully there'll be no delays. Chest of drawers: We'll be taking our own sweet time in furnishing our place, as we will only shift in after the lunar 7th month. We still don't know why Mr.K was rushing to finish our project, as we have stressed to him umpteen times 慢慢來. And no, it was not because he wanted us to pay him asap but rather we guess it's his typical working style. On a side note... I was pretty impressed with the Black&Decker steam mop. The microfiber cloth from the steam mop was black from mopping even after my wife and i hand wiped the floor 3 times. I chose the black & decker over shark as of course, it's from black & decker, and its not as expensive as the shark. Floor feels smooth after steam mopping, and I get a kick out from the whole process, knowing that the steam will break down stubborn stains. Would recommend this to clean freaks like me.
  14. Hi June. My wife and I think your house is absolutely beautiful. Like what they say "less is more" definitely applies to your home.
  15. Hi Mattresses are very subjective. What may seem comfy to you may not be so for others. You can try purchasing 1 from amazon though. They've got tons of reviews. Don't forget to share your delivery charges

  17. And I wouldn't wanna risk having an explosion just to save a few hundred bucks.
  18. Hi lala Can I just say that I think you're super nice in replying to queries where the answers can be easily found
  19. Hi, Very very tastefully done up, and location of the WIW is perfect ! Seems like you've hired the right ID
  20. Hi ProjectH, More info on the chair provided, and yes they can be found at Design Store.
  21. But standard has dropped over the years. It's funny that most stalls don't maintain standards after getting famous. There's another good laksa at kelantan lane, also known as the Sungei Rd laksa. The gravy is boiled using charcoal. It doesn't belong to the "lemak" category, and it's nice in an "old school" and "ordinary way" if you get what I mean
  22. Hi Vanessa ,Any idea where can I buy cast iron pan ? Was at ck tang & can't find them. Heard they're best for cooking steak.
  23. Hi greglhc, We'll only be shifting in after the lunar 7th month, as it'll be very rush to shift in and clean everything by next week, and furthermore fridge will only arrive in nov / dec. You can enquire from other forum members as there are some using rinnai.
