Got it from egg3's outlet at Ann Siang. They carry different things at different outlets, so just call Ann Siang and ask about their "green changing room light". Can't remember if I got it for 69 or 89 though!

Good luck! Just be firm, it'll surely work. Doesn't make sense to pay hundreds of dollars to do something that's perfectly sound. Stress to them that the wall isn't even marked out as structural in the floorplan. We kept doing that, and the officer was like, "erm I'll check." Can sense they're just following (rigid) protocol -_- Anyway, regarding the gate we're installing at the bottom of the stairs (to prevent our dog from running and falling when we're not home), our carpenter finally found something! Think we gave our IDs and carpenter headache for that gate. The carpenter found it in JB, so they're trying to modify it for the staircase now. *fingers crossed* I'll take pictures of it once it's up!

I replied you in my t-blog! If you can afford a week or two of waiting (and some frustration), I say call HDB and just keep going! It worked for us (I called and also mentioned that many EMs hack the bedroom wall and replace it with glass, and most mentioned they didn't need PE endorsement).
-
This is the wall that gave us a huge headache! HDB put that wall on pending and approved everything else, so the ID had to leave that wall untouched for a few days after hacking started. After a week of taking-their-time, HDB replied our ID and told them that PE endorsement was needed. We called HDB ourselves and spoke to the officer, and he said he'd let us know again. The officer got back to us the next day, "must have PE endorsement". When we asked the officer why (inserting windows into a wall is just like how HDB installs windows in every flat. don't tell me HDB has PE endorsement for every window they install into a wall ), he just kept saying "because my supervisor says need". So we asked to speak to the supervisor The supervisor seemed to know what he was doing better, and he spoke to the technical department for us (apparently it's the technical department that decides when PE endorsement is needed). Finally, after another week, the officer called our IDs and approved the window for that wall

You build your own chinchilla cage! Wow Post more pictures of your place and renovation progress once you get started! -
I guess you could just leave the stickers there if you wanted and not peel them off but they may fall off eventually. Windows are usually powder coated to preserve the colors, so I'm not sure if window makers will powder coat it this way for you. You could spray paint it yourself, but it won't be scratch-resistant. It's a different feel though, black strips vs. just one uniform color I stared at the windows for a while, deciding if I liked it with black strips better. I have to say, the black strips give the windows character, but full white windows help to enhance the space better (gives a lighter feel to the whole place).

Haha but puppies will still grow. But introducing a younger animal into existing households with animals is always a better idea then at least they grow up together. Adopt if you can and save a life! -
haha if you're referring to the black strips, they're just stickers that will be removed later on! I did think they were interesting though, with the black strips, hahaha we hired an ID and didn't source for our own window maker, so it was all quoted to us by them (in the original quotation, not variation order). We're only installing grills for the windows facing the corridor on the first floor. The grills aren't installed yet though.

Your chinchilla looks like he has a lot of character indeed! It's probably possible to interact your future dog and chinchilla using proper introduction steps! Adopted my cat first, then adopted my dog after, and introduced them well, so they're friends now -
Thank you very much for the compliment! We got this lamp from Stevie General Store (also known as World Savage) at Bussorah Street. They're a vintage store and I think they usually only have 1 of everything, so I don't think they'll have this lamp anymore. But they have other very interesting lights, you can check them out here.

Thanks! We got it from i-Lite at Jalan Besar. the bulbs are $75 or $85 each (can't really remember which ).

Another fruitful (the same can't be said for the wallet ) day of shopping with the ID. After looking up, down and all over the place for bed frames that catch our eye, we settled for Picket & Rail. Mom's queen-sized bed. Currently on sale. Our king-sized bed. Currently on sale (much better than the original price when it first caught my eye in IMM!). Also ordered our curtains. Uncle managed to arrange a day for the installation before CNY. He says it's the last day before the workers go on their CNY break. Fingers crossed that all goes well! Our cafe curtain taking shape (the lace in front), and the curtain for the bedrooms (cream cloth). Our venetian blinds (the white woodgrain right on top) for the first floor.

We have a brand new Nespresso U machine that's still in the box that we have no use for. Hoping to sell it instead of letting it go to waste. Please PM me if you would like to take it off our hands!

Update on how it goes! Maybe we can do so too if we find somewhere cheaper that's not listed under the big 5 competitors
-
They refund your deposit?
-
The boy checked with GAB. For the models we wanted, Everj_ _nt was cheaper. And Courts was even cheaper than Everj_ _nt because of the CNY sales for limited sets going on now Courts states that it has to be prices from the big 5 competitors though. Goh Ah Bee isn't listed in there. Have you paid for your booking with Courts?
-
Samsung. For its price tag, it sounds rather good and has good features too. Value for money! It's a fraction of Bose's sound bar's price, so Samsung is enough!
-
Walked into Courts today to just take a random look around, and ended up purchasing our TVs and washing machine. The boy's the one in charge of researching the electrical products, and he was going to go to Everj_ _nt to purchase our electrical stuff because they seemed to offer the best prices among all the shops he contacted. But because of the current CNY sales going on in Courts, the prices there were even better! The Courts person also ensured us that Courts matches the prices (always heard of that marketing tactic but never knew how it worked until today) of the big 5 players in the industry - Gain City, Harvey Norman, Challenger, Audio House, Best Denki. For those interested, this is how it works - e.g. if you buy a TV from Courts for $800 and find that same model selling at $700 in any of the big 5 listed above, just go back to Courts and tell them so, and after they verify it, they'll give you $200 worth of vouchers (no, they don't give it to you in cash ). So they "refund" twice the price difference. Our washing machine. TV for the living room. TV for Mom's room (this one fits into the back of the wardrobe). Also checked out the vacuum cleaner that we need (one that's powerful and suitable for cleaning pet fur!). We're considering this, or maybe the Dyson 29. Need to find out which one is suitable for parquet flooring. I got distracted while the men went on about the specs of the vacuum cleaner and chanced upon a sound bar. The Courts uncle was very helpful and gave us an introduction to both this sound bar and Samsung's speaker bar. He tested both for us to decide which we liked better. The price difference is considerable, but I like this one more because 1. I prefer the sound, 2. It comes with an in-built player. Considering the price tags of both Samsung sound/speaker bars, and comparing it to the price tag of the sound bar we fell in love with at Bose (Millenia Walk), I'm super that we managed to find something we like enough to forget about the Bose and its hefty price tag! Shall return to Courts soon to complete the payment, and add on the vacuum cleaner and sound bar (after we sleep on it). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Oh really? Thanks for sharing! We'll keep that in mind and pop by Spotlight when we can to check it out. Is it customisation? Haha, don't think so! If anything, looks like the IDs might hand the keys over to us just before CNY. Otherwise, it'll probably be after. But either way, don't think we'll even try moving in before CNY. Too rushed! Will post pictures once we get down to visiting the place! Haven't gone there since the last update
