  1. Today's the handover day! Hope you get it all done and ready for your move-in!
  2. Yup! We bought two, one for the living room, one for my mom's room
  3. Your place has a very nice base to work with! all the best with renovation!
  4. Local! He was dumped beside the rubbish chute when he was still tiny Thanks for the info! Will keep it in mind. Need to decide if his scratching might damage the pipe in the long run But definitely creative!
  5. ZOMG, my cat would love your rope covered pipe! Maybe that's what I should do to my exposed pipe on my balcony
  6. I totally understand what you mean. We took a while struggling with which tone to pick. We finally decided warm
  7. Finally having a small window of time to enjoy the house
  8. Although it does matter if the paint lasts and marks easily come off with some wiping. So brands still do matter in some way, heh
  9. I think you can't install the steel rings if you're not concealing the pipes behind a false wall. We wanted to do that for our hansgrohe shower head, but had to scrap hansgrohe eventually because we didn't want a false wall to conceal the pipes. My mixers' joints look like yours
  10. All the best for your renovation! Your renovation pictures are going to be promising (considering your profession)
  11. Hey Z3phy, the best is to build a pen! If you don't mind allocating more space for your rabbits, get a puppy pen from any pet shop, and construct an area where they can be kept. The pen gives them more space to hop around freely, and when you're home, you can let them out for even more exercise. Rabbits can be toilet trained to go in the same spot, so you can do that and not have to worry about a mess
  12. You're asking bb_1314 right?
  13. We don't cook much, so we haven't encountered any problems with fumes or oil. What an experienced ID actually told us was that he found a hood useless (he got an industrial standard one too!) if you really cook a lot and do quite a bit of frying. There will still be fumes anyway, was what he said. So we decided to just go without a hood. That said, I see no problem with a stand-alone hood! It can be gorgeous in its own right, just make sure you pick a nice hood There are many examples of stand-alone hoods, like here. Or you could even play around with shapes, like here.
  14. We have the exact pipe at that location too. But I guess everyone does We picked a color we liked, painted it and left it exposed. But I guess not everyone likes that. Just a suggestion! Good luck with your reno!
  15. Huh! What is that brown section? Skirting?
  16. I think the range matters too. Like how lower end quartz could be cheaper than higher end granite. But quartz is generally pricier, true.
  17. He keeps getting into the shots that I didn't mean for him to be in, hahaha. He's quite the attention seeker. My dog can't quite fit into luggages and open bags, so I guess he makes do with armchairs and sofas
  18. Hahaha, the cat is seriously... classic poses.
  19. Got an afternoon off work to finally enjoy the home a little (though it's hard to fully enjoy when there's still quite a bit of stuff to do ). Some of the shots close up.
  20. You would know the speed of your contractor best, but for the ID I engaged, they worked seriously fast, so they could finish a lot in 2 weeks if they wanted to. So maybe yours can also do that! But of course, finishing fast is one thing, we don't want them to finish fast with tonnes of things to rectify later it's neat, for now. we'll just have to make the effort to keep things back where we took them and not buy things unnecessarily unless we need them. that's why storage is important. wait till you see the insides of our storage areas
  21. Cool! Been wanting to make a photobook for ourselves but never knew who to approach and if there are any specific programs to use to collate. Shall check your sources out. Expensive? Thank you for your kind words! I super like the way you present your photos too I got the typewriter from By My Old School ($280, but prices vary with models, so some can be cheaper/more expensive). Give her blog a visit and check under the typewriter tag to see if she still has any left. We were pleasantly surprised when we visited the store and found the shop owner familiar. If you visit, see if you recognize her I'm not in design, but I love looking at beautifully designed things. Like your pictures and photobooks!
  22. Eh... I think they are the standard size. We didn't change the doors and used the original ones, only painted over the original glossy brown wood. Anyway, your doors should definitely not have staples showing, regardless of quality or price! Good that you got your contractor to address it Handover soon! More pictures
  23. We close the doors to the room when we let them run around freely, so no real interaction between the big ones and little ones We're hoping to be able to stay at home more! Haven't had a proper weekend at home since we moved in it's been endless trips to furniture and home accessories places to get stuff. We're hoping to get most of the essentials settled so we can start enjoying the home!
  24. Thanks adidaem! The dog and cat get along, but I wouldn't say the guineas, hamsters and gerbils get along since they're all in separate cages The dog and cat get curious about them, but nothing of the eating sort not that they can reach them helps that they grew up together, so they're used to seeing small creatures.
  25. As much as we'd like our homes to be perfect upon handover, I've found that it's close to impossible. I agree with you that there's only so much you can spot. The house has so many nooks and crannies that it's difficult to spot every hiccup at first glance. We've moved in since mid March, and along the way, we still find small things here and there that we want rectified. It's definitely frustrating, but we've accepted it as inevitable given the nature of renovation works (so many people working on one place, some rushing, some careless). Totally agree with you, no one will put in more effort for our homes than ourselves. So there's bound to be things we find unacceptable that the workers think are fine. The most important is that they are willing to rectify it for you! Hope it moves smoother for you from here on
