  2. buy buy buy! I have a small facination with chopping board Just heard a cook show host saying that "if servicing food on basket is very 80s/90s, serving food on chopping board is the trend now" One of my Swedish friend has a chopping board her father-in-law made from a tree he chopped down in the wood. Very beautifully done.
  3. Dust drop on the floor not too bad but headache when they drop on the shelf behind the book or display item. I use those no brand micro fiber cloth for my cleaning jobs. Think I will invest in a good duster and use cloth to do a more thorough cleaning once every 2-3 months Since we are on the topic of household chores... what dish washing liquid do you guys use? I am using Mama Lemon now and find its not as good as in the past in getting rid of the grease unless I soak them in hot water before cleaning.
  4. Err I think the noise level is acceptable, or it doesnt bother my neighbours lol. I dont have a fix schedule and I use the washer every 2-3 days to wash my yoga outfit and yoga towels with quick wash setting spinning at full speed. Sometimes I use the washer past 11pm.
  5. Haha if I am visually challenged and listening to Nigella cook show I will be full of images of how she looks and the food lol. Saw her cooking chinese soup noodles, looks really unappetising !
  6. Haha turquoise is the new black! I wanted some splash of turquoise in the flat initially by asking the painter to paint a rattan chair or the IKEA step ladder into turquoise, didnt execute due to time constraint (mad rusn trying to complete reno b4 cny)
  7. Hi Mrs Merry Oh I should get a duster! I clean using a wet cloth once every 3-4 weeks. So much work!
  8. I was about to ask why Nigella Lawson is on the list and does she deserves such a prominent space on the walll, and what about Donna Hay haha
  9. Oh my Electrolux dryer is EDV705 lol. The door is still intact haha. My old dryer is a 6kg electrolux . It served me well!
  10. Oh I have the exact same Samsung washing machine for slightly over two years now! Bought the extended warranty from best denki and so far so good ! I called Samsung to level the washing machine twice (when I first purchased and when I moved here this Jan). Service is very prompt and the uncle even changed the hose that was damaged during move free of charge. Wanted a F&P dryer for aesthetic reasons too but changed to a 7kg electrolux dryer with auto dry sensor after the salesman at Harvey Norman showed me the flimsy interiror. Hope yours is fine
  11. Mr Merry, How often do you have to clear the dust off the massive open bookshelves ?
  12. Best to ask chef Vanessa (she will probably recommend brands other than WMF) ! Personally for cutleries I prefer to see and feel them before purchase. I used to travel to Sweden 6-8 times a year for work. Bought a number of items from a shop selling Boda Nova stuf during sales, and from their factory outlet abt 30 minutes drive from the small town I frequent.
  13. Chopping board link: http://vanessafridahome.wordpress.com/2013/01/24/purchasing-from-taobao-2/ I will shop after my holiday!
  14. I chose the unframed canvas prints, its abt 9mm thick and nicely done up on the back for hanging on the wall: 20130930_223558 by Sarahbj3b, on Flickr
  15. Hi Greg, I just received my first taobao purchase from oldskool this evening, very happy with the quality of the products! Thanks for sharing the links and the write ups on how to 淘宝 you did a while ago ! Made a very conservative purchase of a set of 30cm x 30cm canvas of iconic landmarks in a few cities , and a jamie oliver chopping board from Vanessa's taobao link : IMG-20130930-WA0002 by Sarahbj3b, on Flickr http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.3.SHxvKB&id=17416438308
  16. haha not me, the acrobat did few days ago! I use the yoga swing to do some relaxing yoga poses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm1bO9nqMoA Not sure about this though! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upHU55NtRdo
  17. Yaman! Besides drilling assembling or moving things around can be quite a big challenge! I just spent more than 45 mins to reposition my hammock into a swing! Decided to ditch the chunky metal chains I used in the past and had to reposition 4 super tight figure-8 knotts on the mountain climbing ropes for it to use as a yoga swing. 20130929_102801 by Sarahbj3b, on Flickr
  18. Nice! Saw this from the website, suits your theme! Screenshot_2013-09-29-09-23-02 by Sarahbj3b, on Flickr
  19. Ya better to get a licensed gas service worker to check it out. You might want to install a gas leak detector for peace of mind?? google for " gas leak detector singapore "

  22. Hi Ness, Just took a quick look at your Facebook page CulinaryNess, how about including a small description in your About/CulinaryNess section or your blog to ask those who are interested to be kept informed of upcoming events to email you at vanessa@culinaryness.com? You keep the emails in a word/excel file and email them when you have a new event? You can ask your more tech-savvy friends how to merge the mailing list to the email if the list is long!!
