Same lar. We let them use our common toilets because to find a toilet at our estate a pain in e *** but sometimes the way they used it is mad gross. Sometimes I wonder if they do that at home. Duh! Oh yeah! They at most fun now but naughty as well coz they are at a stage whereby they seem to know yet dun fully understand us. Always be thankful for a active child!

Butting in here. Maybe u wanna ask friends if they have any part time aunties cleaning and don't mind doing 1 off cleaning.( think they charge 3/4hrs for $50 for market rate) Of coz cannot expect professional standard but at least a huge layer of dust is cleared then we'll do another round of cleaning again.

Yup exactly! Some workers are really #{*%%|>€. We are appreciative to what has been put together thus far and we're mega pleased with the outcome despite the hiccups. There are def stuff that I wish to highlight but its too early for me to do a review and pass a judgment now, ill do the review when everything is complete. To be fair to everyone and by then ill be calm enough to give an unbiased review. My gal is 22mths the most active and naughty stage. Hah!

Yes, I think renovation is one if the most expensive item we'll pay at one time but many times the service level is been disregarded. They've been stuff that we close one eye ( sometimes both eyes) but there are stuff that we wanna be firm since we're nearing the end if the renovation now. Honestly with less than a week of work to do, there really so little they can screw up.
-
I think so too. We've started our Reno in late jan and till date, we've been thru the Chinese New Year and Qing Ming. Both dates workers will take time off and stop work. But there are really so much we can spot. We just spot a batch of laminates in the wrong color on our carpentry the other day and have them sent back and now again...

From what we understand, this is the only legal way of doing it, even the grohe guys confirmed this w us because we wanted to buy the conceal system which is not common for Hdb homes
-
Like what bleucheese and rtechlow shared, I agree that with any contractor or id, we need to make an effort to check on the works and schedule. Which is what we have been doing. It's our home and no one will put in more effort than ourselves, Truth to be told, we are on site daily..but we have our own lives to lead as well. We cannot be there 24/7. Sometimes it's really no fault of Alan but his sub cons but these moments are just exasperating. Having the need to do rectifications just spoils the entire mood that you have. Even when the guys were installing the shower screen doors, we were there! We checked w them on the direction of our mbr glass door to make sure that they install it correctly but alas Murphy's law! what that can go wrong will go wrong. we didn't expect that a sliding door can turn into a swing door!
-
I've called the contractor and told him to get it changed and to replace the tiles they drilled on. *fullstop* I guess we've been nice for too long. This will be something that I do not wanna live with because this is a potential hazard for my toddler. I shudder at the thought that she might accidentally slam the door too hard and the door end up shattering on her. This lauout is not by choice. the layout is too small for us to so anything plus the auntie inside me* keeps thinking aboith when someone showers, they will wet the toilet bowl and toilet paper. Lololol
-
Even classic doors shouldn't see any staples right? The door should be assembled before the install at you house right? Coz for our doors they brought it in complete 1 piece and only lacquer there. That's all.
-
Sometimes I really wonder if ppl put any effort into things they do. They installed the shower screen today and guess wat! They actually install a swing door that will slam into the mixer at the common bathroom when it was supposed to be a sliding door. And they can stick a silicon sticker onto my mixer to minimize the impact! What's in their mind really? It's been a series of screw ups but this one really takes the cake.
-
Same as summer. All the doors in the house are the same for my case. We choose solid doors for the whole house. So no it's not different neither do we see staples.
-
As posted above it's fr eubiq
-
We sourced for the entire thing ourself and got the electrician to install it for us.
-
Our entire house is HERF except for wet areas so those areas are separated by a kerb. We do not have other types of laminate flooring in the house. HTHs
-
Yup, it's eubiq and those cost us around $700. And not we didn't cover our windows. Behind the space is actually our balcony/foyer entrance so we hacked an opening to allow light to flow through.

Finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel! the power track and quartz top makes the place looks more complete and def made my day despite the multiple hiccups lately.

Here you go jaykr, you can see the 45degree tiling as above the edges are sharp and thus it looks more neat and sleek. But it's prone to chips. I've uploaded another pic. As for the chips, uncle says he cannot do anything except putty over coz to fix that he has to dig out he entire piece of mosaic... Guess we just have to live with that. Boo!
-
Thank you for your kind words! We love how bright the place is too and not to mention window but that also means we've spent a bomb on the grills and curtains! *thank goodness you only do those stuff once* Ha! I'm counting down too unfortunately our renovation has been at a standstill because the carpentry is delayed and with that, the rest of the stuff has to be pushed back. Le sigh!
-
We actually came to know about the 45degree tiling from the t-blogs here! I forgot which one was it but it was a t-blog for an EM. I saw that he did a 45degree tiling and it looks v neat and sleek thus the decision to do that for our house but DO NOTE the pros is that it looks fantastic but it's also v prone to chips. If u do the regular tiling and if u stay in a HDB now , walk into your kitchen and you will prob see that the corner joint is a plastic PVC Strip that is on the edge. It looks ugly but that actually prevents the tile from chipping if u knock into it with somthing hard. Unfortunate for us, some of the *gong gong* sub-cons have already chipped some of our edges and even 2 of our honeycomb mosaic I'll upload some shots tmr for you to see how it looks like.

We had the curtain guy over a couple days ago and initially wanted to install e frosted film too but our room has evening sun and was told that it's not recommended. The film will Shrink in about a yr if there is direct sunlight

Preview 2! Part of the room carpentry

Haha that's because since we spent so much on the mixer and mosaica, It'll be silly to have the pippings still exposed...
