Thanks for this! I just purchased the rug and it arrives in 6-10 days. Fingers crossed. Oh yeah about the TV console and desk - if you decide to buy - some advice Ask the freight forwarder to wrap with styrofoam in the following areas 1. TV console - must wrap styrofoam around the locks thingy. I think mine was mishandled and was bent inward. Had to bend it outwards in order to open the doors 2. Desk - the legs are thin and therefore any force can cause them to have slight dent inwards. This is the issue I faced and I need to rectify myself.

Thanks everyone for the votes. Think it's quite split according to gender lines heh. I'll keep my choice a secret for now. A small problem which I've thought about shipping this large rug 6' x 4'. It is going to be delivered via dhl. Do they call to let you know the delivery time? Because there won't be anyone home to collect delivery during office hours!

Hi PTopaz, Definitely try to level the floor as much as possible. I have a tiny regret of not doing that in order to save cost. After laying HERF, ended up with slightly uneven portions I can feel when walking on - particularly kitchen area. Actually it's very minor because most of people who walk in my place can't tell. Only when I point it out to them. So it's more of my own obsession. Heh

Still mulling over the carpets and trying to imagine each one in the space between TV console and sofa The thickness of the teal one is only about 0.5" though so not thick. Somewhat tending towards option 3. It's actually has some gold in it heh. Pic of the side console/desk It's well made but there was a minor defect - probably because the container fell or wasn't handled gently. Minor dent but not visible in the pic I also bought a poster of middle earth which I really like. Turns out I don't have any suitable wall space. Quite a shame!

About the grey/white rugs - I think I like them more because of the design. The idea of the first 2 choices was to disrupt the lines that run in the living room area to define the area, whilst keeping the grey/black/white colours. I do wonder if the teal is as bright in the picture. Or brighter. Some concern if it's too bright. I don't want the carpet to be the centrepiece of attention in that area. I wonder if people's preference will follow gender lines. Suspect that women will tend towards the teal. Hee.

With the arrival of the TV console, I really feel like my living room area needs a nice rug. In between the TV console and sofa. Been obsessed with finding a rug on taobao but not much success. I did manage to source another website which I'm quite excited about. Have narrowed down to three options. 1. 2. 3. One of them is very different from the other two. Lemme know what u guys think! Gotta make up my mind soon cos one of them only have 3 items left in stock....

Been thinking of ways to change the colour of the aluminium bar above the sliding door to the toilet I think alot have this aluminium bar to cover the tracks of the sliding glass door. I don't like the look of it so I changed it to a textured copper My taobao stuff has finally come in. Took a long while to unwrap because they were very heavy! Pic of the TV console. Fits my modern industrial theme very nicely. Very pleased!

Hope you haven't made the full payment. This co sounds like it's in financial trouble since it's trying it's darnest to cut costs... Unfortunately if they are truly going bust, I think no amount of complaining will get them to rectify... Really wish there were more consumer rights...

Stainless steel backsplash is very nice. My friends place used silestone Gray for countertop and ss backsplash with white cabinetry. Swee lor.

The TV console looks very swee! I like how she rounded all the corners. What finish did you choose? Looks like natural teak in the pic. I'm very pleased about my custom dining table from her. Will post some pics soon!

I feel that the branded ones are not worth it also. Managed to buy one from k-mart for 19 bucks though. Worth carrying it back from overseas!
