Happy... u got a flat in Commonwealth View hor? I am among the earliest batch who got my key. So can u imagine how badly swarmed I am when I first visited my new flat. All of them offering to use my unit as show flat which I am not really keen at all. I ended up not engaging any of them. One of them actually always pop by my flat when I started renovation. Keep asking me who is doing reno. Now... that is really scary man. But I always act blur and keep cool. Say my brother is the one who coordinate then try to be friendly lor. Ask them about business etc and whenever see these guys just smile at them and don't think too much. I'm sure these ppl have connection. They always sit together so become fren fren already. You don't have to worry... lots of ppl move in already so they have better things to do right now and they can't remember who they quoted for.

your window grills really small gap that your cat can't go thru hor About ur popping tiles, I thot usually before moving house, sure got something "funny" happen to old house one. Before I move, my old furnitures and appliances seems to be falling apart. Some of my tiles also came off but I just put it back with simple glue. So not noticable. But lucky for me, my old house en bloc so nobody moving into it. Hows your babies settling in the new place? I'm lucky leh... I got a neighbor who is also an animal lover. Last time when I source for quotes from them, they are also the cheapest. I mean really cheap cheap. So fishy until I realize, many things not included. Didn't use them bcos dun have much confidence. I prefer a reno contractor who is more open and detail about their pricing. Have to be more realistic with the budget and not fish ppl with initial cheap quote and later when everything finalise... the quote makes you faintz!

Went to MSCP Garden last weekend. Seen some ppl started to vandalize all the fire hose box. Glass shattered everywhere So sad Lots of young punks start hanging around there too doing hanky panky in school uniforms. I think its oklah to give to karang guni man. Especially to those old people who sometimes collect cardboxes and cans. Rather than throw away... helping the under priviledge also good mah. At my old place, I put in the kitchen. A bit unsightly. Now I stash it in the shoe cabinet. When it is a bit full, just bring it downstairs near any dustbin. Sure got ppl collect one to sell. Used to have one old lady collect from me... but now we moved, she dunno our new place lor.

I agree that there are some who deserve commendation for services too. I can name a few here... Picket & Rail: Usually punctual. Deliver wrong color item... took back immediately and representative promptly call to arrange another delivery. Never make a fuss when I told them to hold back some furnitures because my house is not ready yet. Very patient sales person and keep to timing for delivery. Fisher & Paykel: Prompt in servicing my washing machine. Discovered that its our fault that the machine stalled... due to a safety pin that is stuck Technician never make any fuss... good service. Fanco: Before this, heard from the lighting shop that I bought the fan from that their customer service sucks. But when I called because of remote control frequency problem, the guy answering the call is very polite. Technician came on the same day call is made. Called me before coming and call me again (cos I'm at work) to inform me that servicing is done. So yeah... besides naming to shame those bad ones, we should also name those who provide excellent services

That's why lor... be very careful of revealing too much info in this forum. You never know some ppl with ill intention Some more they know new flat... sure got a lot of new furnitures and some ppl have not moved in yet. We dun even recognize our neighbor and if we see ppl carrrying a tv (for example lah) or what... how to know whether it belongs to them or not...

Can walk lah... I always do that. Buy Chinese rojak at that red brick house very nice one. I like to hang around at HV and shop at Cold Storage Exercise a bit lah. But then hor... I am a serious walker lah ehehehe. I can even walk all the way to Tiong Bahru Plaza. Next time come walk with me lah. I buy you drink ehehehe.

You can tip those foreign worker or cleaner to clear the debris for you.

I share the same sentiment as you. But still... convenience is very close to home Can always take a 15min walk to Cold Storage at Holland Village and NTUC at Holland Village or Margaret Drive.
