  1. You should try go to a few showroom to check it out instead. One thing for sure, those who try to sell to you with special packages. Example standard warranty for parts is 1 to 2 years and they offer your like 4 to 5 years. Better check thoroughly the terms and condition. One of the thing will be the labour charges. Though under warranty, labour charges is payable, give you 10 years warranty also no use cos a problem unit within warranty period will still cost you a bomb. Just my thought
  2. I had LG, Samsung and Sharp TV at home but not LED. So far LG is the best in terms of clarity but problem with Korean TV is they have speakers at the back and need to switch to higher volume in order to hear clearly but it became too loud for others who are in the room. My sharp TV had speaker's in front so sound clarity is better. If I changed my TV, will probably check out LG, sharp and toshiba. Will probably give Samsung a miss. Just my thought
  3. You can try this "Kimura" inverter air con. They are having a new launch promo and I got mine changed a month plus ago at S$ 2299 for system 3. Not sure if the promo still on. It comes with build in air cleaner function and is a very good thing since my son and I do have aspiratory problems and i can feels the different every morning I wake up. No more heavy chest and my son no more block nose. The place I lived in is very hazy every morning and sometime can smell burnt smell in the air. So far it works great and my previous also a Daikin. Not as good as what I thought.
  4. I guess nowadays, durability is not in the manufacturer's mine...... I changed my home aircon just after 8 years..... Guess what the contractor told me?? " 8 years is consider good nowadays. Don't expect like those old solid aircon that last 15 years and beyond. With competition and cost cutting plus high cost in doing business, they will die if everybody don't change air con after first installation." I was like being enlighten... "very true"
  5. What was the brand? I believed your existing aircon is an old system which is having R22 refrigerant. If I am you and have the budget, I will probably change it because R22 is phasing out and all the new air con comes with R410A refrigerant. If change later, all your renovation is going to be "affected" due to new air con size and piping change. My nerg ziam.
  6. You should go to your neighbour house and measure at the point of their complaint. You should take the noise level when the aircon is off then follow by air con is on. Compare the difference. You can use the 50dBA as per NEA guideline as gauge. Alternatively you can measure in the open but about 2 meter away from your condenser for the noise level and follow the NEA gauge. It will be difficult to comment as evey household have different layout. If your sound meter can measured individual frequency and if the noise level is high at the lower frequency, about 63Hz, 125Hz, & 250Hz, than your condenser is vibrating which could be due to your condenser very old already. Just my 2 cents nia..
  7. Hi, My Daikin air-con also got problem in less than 2 years. Installed system 3 with master bed room having 12000BTU and 2 common rooms with 9000btu. After 3 months, thr raddling noise always woke us up in the middle of the night. After 1 year, when 1 of common room aircon is switched on, my masterbed room unit start blowing hot air. Repaired and now flipper broken and now all 3 bedrooms aircon raddling when operation and seems like cannot solve the problem. Now wanted to change new aircon completely and hunting.
