  1. Hi All, After going through dozens of packages and quotes, I got a bit fed up cos it is difficult comparing the quotes due to the different formats. Usually, they like to take their standard package, and then add on whatever you require additionally. I decided to combine all the quotes and do up a scope of work myself so that I can pluck their individual figures in for comparison, I think that its fairer. But I am stumped when it comes to electrical works. How to specify it? Basically I need to rewire the whole house with new switch board. But when it comes to the individual points, like double sockets, lighting, aircon point, tele points, I get confused. To summarise, I will be installing 2 instant heaters, 1 system-4 aircon, 4 ceiling fans, 1 cove lighting & maybe 4 down lights?, 10 ceiling lights including bathrooms & kitchen, 2 pendant lights. I will need wall sockets around the house. I dun intend to have house phone and my friend recommend me to run Cat5 cable to each room so that if wireless is weak, can install routers at each room (??). I will probably go for OpenNet but some quote me SCV points?
  2. Hi William, for such scope of work, it would be easy for you to manage yourself and get individual quotes (e.g. flooring from flooring companies, etc) Btw, I also keen to install wooden folding doors for my balcony. After googling for **** long (most offer aluminium with acrylic), I saw one company Yong Fang that does it. But I haven't gotten quote cos I still sourcing for quotes for the major portion of my reno. But I'm in no hurry cos my first appt is only in May, hee hee. If you get any good quotes please share..
  3. Cheers. I'm in the process of getting an ID myself. If I do land in such an unpleasant situation as yours, I'd do the same too. Even if it means spending 5K in legal fees to recover 2K, I'd do it for justice sake. Not to forget getting their name on every online media possible !
  4. Hi Dwi, I have a quote from D'trenzo Interior when I place my contacts on the site asking for quotes. Not sure if it's the same company..
  5. Btw, because of my budget, I'm realistic. I don't expect designer home, but I need everything that needs to be done to be done. Ceiling, walls, floors, windows, grilles, door, gate. I have a couple of requirements to hack wall and build partition. But end of the day, I willing to give up on fancy carpentry work.
  6. Just placed deposit for a 25 yrs old 5 room 1302 sq ft. This place is fully original, even door frames are slightly rotting and all doors, windows and grilles need to change. Electrical also. I have emailed several companies and all tried to shove me their packages. But because of the extent of work required, it become up to me to go and "catch" what is missing from their package. After a while, it became very tiring. Almost signed up with Ciseern at Expo yesterday cos their package was so comprehensive that it even included sofa, aircon (yes even aircon need replacement) and cooker/hob. But my wife told me to hold and when I came home, I realized that it was at least 11k off my budget. I shouldn't be stretching my budget as my new house installment 40% already have to be paid by cash every month. I'm looking for someone who will give me a detailed quotation and TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO DO rather than leave it to me to check their quotation. I'm a very easy going guy when I'm a customer. A lot of things can cham seong, but when it comes to hidden cost it sends me into a rage as I myself is very transparent dealings. Any recommendation ?
