Now i know mace is a rich man........u live near there.........that place mostly private property plus the house all very big type.................now i more envy of u..........now i remember last time army always say, dont compare i also dont know that shop got sell screen, outside they mostly sell chairs and tables and altar. But i walk deep inside the shop, then i saw this rosewood screen which arrested my attention..........keep shouting at me to bring it home. I ask the boss to show my other design, he says no more liao. Cos they stop producing already and want to focus on chairs, tables and etc. Go take a look, the things not expensive plus the boss so sincere.
  2. Hi applefreak, its somewhere opposite just anthony. A ulu shop and not as famous as Justanthony. But the uncle very nice type and the price can slash here slash there but must stop before u annoyed him the shop also do touch up for your old rosewood furniture. I am not a spendthrift person but this screen really melt my heart....sad lah, there goes my plan to buy a nokia N95 hp.
  3. Hi Mace, Seems like u also like rosewood furniture. My love with rosewood furniture begin with my primary school bestfriend house. During my school days, when I go his house, i always got this grand feeling........anyway that shop i patronise is somewhere opposite justanthony. I go there 3 times then i buy. The boss very sincere and unscheming type. Actually, these 2 days i off, so I intend to follow forumers direction and go justanthony but my wife notice another ulu shop nearer to the bus stop that we drop off. So we intend to take a look inside the shop cos lazy to cross the road..... After i saw the rosewood screen in the shop, it already conditioned my mind. Whatever screen i saw at justanthony cannot move me. Even the lady at Justanthony tell me new stocks coming at the end of the month cannot move me. I tell my wife i will give up buying new nokia N95 hp just to buy this rosewood screen. i will take a picture and post it when it touches my clementi new house around december. Cheers...
  4. Hi good people, I got my new standard flat at clementi. It comes with toilet tiles. But the looks of the toilet tiles not so encouraging. Initially i intend to hack or overlaying it. But i saw many forumers mention the negative sides of it and the price abit steep. Then i saw a good forumers(i think is raincole) mention about Epoxy Painting and apply it on toilet tiles. I get excited about this idea. I got a few questions and hope u experienced good people can answer me..... 1.) how much it cost to spray expoxy painting on one toilet floor(mine is the standard hdb toilet)? 2.) It is durable, whats the good and bad of it? will it wear off very fast? 3.) Can epoxy painting be applied on toilet wall as well? Thank you so much
  5. Initially i want to buy camphone screen, but when i go to feel the wood, it gives me a light and cheapskate feeling. Lucky i never buy. Then these 2 days i off, go jalan jalan, i saw this shop selling rosewood screen at paya lebar. One look i fall in love with it. The wood is heavy, it can stretch to 213 cm long and the finishing so beautiful. One side mother of pearl, one side with flowers( dont know what 4 seasons flowers)........ Its not at samtat, samtat abit expensive............I also check out oriental and justanthony. then i realise many shops now never sell screens anymore. I saw a similar one at yahoo auction selling at $8000 now. I faint.....anyway i bought already last nite already. Cos the boss quote me last price at $2000 and it is really the last piece.....i go home a happy man...........mayb there r cheaper one elsewhere........but i really like this rosewood screen...........i am flying, heehee.

  7. Yesterday i went to upper paya lebar look look see see. I saw this chinese rosewood screen 4 panels, one side is crafted with some flowers and one side is filled with mother of pearls. Wah i abit stunned and like it very much. But abit exp, the boss quote me $2100...........i wonder is this a good price? Is there any rosewood expert out there can help me? The boss told me rosewood very good wood, two man also cannot carry that 4 panels of rosewood screen..........wah i very impressed..........pls advised........
  8. U mean the hacking of kitchen entrance $400 is expensive? How much is the charges normally? My kitchen cabinet is approximately 5000mm long. Thank you..........
  9. I agree to yr view. I also feel the flooring very expensive. My kitchen is only one side with cabinet cos i intend to hack away one side of the kitchen wall, to make my small kitchen looks big. Thanks for the reply. Btw, u got any good contractor to intro for home renovation?

  13. let me be clear again, u downgrade from EA, there is no levy if u buy a resale flat but u cannot borrow from hdb, cos u downgrade. Before u can buy a resale, u must submit HLE to hdb to tell them theres a bank willing to lent u money. lets say u buy a new flat from hdb, u must pay 50k levy. U might need to apply bridging loan if u dont have the money. Once again u must apply for bank loan cos u downgrade. Again HLE is needed. Tu
  14. You can downgrade but u must pay levy once u buy a new flat. u also not eligible for any hdb loan cos u can take hdb loan only if u upgrade.................

  19. i just got a standard flat at clementi.........since its standard i got problem with the flooring? Nowadays it is advisable for the flooring to be homogeneous or marble? For toilet and kitchen what kind of flooring is it advisable for me to use? Thank you so much........

Me just back from reservist.........me still waiitng keys to my clementi flat from hdb..........about that ghost house matters............i will rest it aside.................has anyone got their keys already? can tell me for a clementi new standard flat what does it has? Does it at least has a toilet bowl, basin? does everyroom comes with doors? for flooring, do u guys prefer homogenous tiles or marble? Me now headache over my renovation...............

I had just sold away my 1st hdb flat.........selling flat no joke, tiring also....... now then ready to start moving into this clementi unit........initally i tok paying $45k levy for this 360k unit abit unfair and steep..........but i look around at resale nowadays..........wah the price is even more higher.............i think i better stick to my this clementi unit.........

Everyone also want to buy high floor, good view, near mrt, near facilities, cheap price, good neighbours, normal shape, near town.......................but sometimes in life u cant have the best of everything.........everything fated, i believe............if u got 80% of wat u desire, good enuff and u should take it.................think seriously, where got so good deal in life........let me share alittle story wif u...............i saw a house recently with high floor, designer renovated, marble flooring, good view, near mrt, near facilities, super cheap price, normal shape and near town recently.....................too good to be true huh............very happy...........but i visit the house a few times and talk with the neighbours and ppl around it..........u know wat .............the house is haunted.........in life u can never get 100%............

Hi, Haha, u r new neighbour..........I get a low floor unit (5rm) at Blk 459 at 360k....u think 360k++ for that place really worth it?................the location not bad but the maintenance of the block abit bad, like not much ppl live there, also abit dusty..............how come eyeing that place for a long time.............how come this place never open for previous walk-in selection..........cos i check many units for blk 458, blk 459 and 460 have been vacant since 2002.............
