Ya <3 Must also take everything into account, like even your flooring which is currently covered. A room is digested as a whole! By the way, I realised your corridor photo shows the difference in browns between your rooms haha -

Not weird la! Weird is like, painting a room bright purple and creamy green (no offence to Barney-themed homes). I took a closer (read: strain my grandmother eyes) look at your walls; now I see what you mean! Agree that creamy white would have set off your greige walls beautifully, but the light yellow is not a disaster! It's nice - just that creamy *might* have been nicer? But it's still v nice. Definitely not weird. -

Mmmm, this is our heater: I reckon that even though it was quite a lot of bother, it's better to be safe than sorry? The punggol pipe bursting **** story has made me a little leery of pipes all around heh. Yeah I know what you mean about choosing colours! I've concluded that bedrooms can take deeper/darker colours and feel really cosy. And photos take a very different picture from real life! Not to mention the day and night light makes such a difference in how a room looks. -

My brain just widened in surprise, exploded upon rereading, gently deflated, and softly died. -

Methinks your medallion will be a good addition to your theme. Your fireplace abit hard to say until it's installed. I think it could be a hit or miss thing? At the very worst, if you don't like it, could you uninstall it and place it in another room/space? That's what I've been doing with the stuff I don't like hahahah -

Hi guys, thanks so much for your encouragement it makes us feel warm and buzzy when people share in our joy! Hey currahee, it cost 3k, but I'm rather hesitant to share the contact because I feel that the extra hinges (meant to make the panel doors sturdier) are effective but also slightly tricky to manage! My youngest BIL and I came close to kiaping our fingers. But if you still want, let us know, and we'll ask our contractor cuz it's his contact! Hello there, you both have my contractor's contact in your inbox Hii babe, I wanted to put up a series of photos, but we've had a slight hiccup with our kitchen countertop, and we're going to have to wait for the lady to clarify with the factory that they sent the wrong item - which they did, and I'm really hoping they won't fudge out of it - we'll find out on monday. Meanwhile, lemme show you my toilet door HAHA. Love, Bookworm

Hey babe, doubleEM's advice about staying until/if a good price for your home comes along sounds good, if a bit mercenary! For my part, I've been living with my in-laws for awhile now; it's been quite a squeeze and I think some of us have lower tolerance for the squash than others. Having said that though, I've grown to really enjoy having my sibling-in-laws around and I know our place will feel quiet and empty when we move in (empty nest syndrome even before having my own babies hahahah). Overall, I reckon the decision will come to you, or perhaps even be made for you, in time. -

Nestled for sure. I'm so excited for you babe! -
We're graduating from Renotalk! What a bittersweet headline. 90% of our home is done! Think we'll move in sometime next week, God willing. Okies, referring to the hall photo above, here's a photo of the left side, whose wall was knocked down and replaced with a 6 paneled glass door in black framing: The entrance of our MBR: Another angle - a peep into our cosy nook! And finally, our kitchen The Bookworm and the Brilliance are happy.

Curry has tumeric, so you'll get your turmeric testing then! Also, if you're feeling extra brave, you can put hot pots and pans to test for warping - but I'm not gutsy enough haha. And, nestled tables! Your home is going to be splendid -
thanks! hahaha yeah, the fan is no longer 15cm away from my husband's eyeballs

You sound tired of the home process! :/ Hmmmmm. Would making pretty things for the home while waiting for it to come together help? Bunting, poofs, etc are so homey! But maybe not very classic haha. Misery loves company. We're all in this togetherrrr *insert various musical notes* -
Photo Post: Paints! As some of you may recall, when life was on page 2, I was stressing over paints. Well, the paints are out, and photos are in! I read somewhere online to expect lights colours in the catalog to be one shade lighter in real life, and dark colours, one shade darker. All our colours fell in the light range, and I have found the general principle to be true. So it's possible true of the darker shades as well. I should also say, though, my photos have come out one shade darker again! So for example, the first photo, while the brown looks close to the catalog colour, it's actually one shade lighter in real life. We also experimented a little with gray and blue, using the latter as an accent wall and both as a half-and-half in the respective photos. I suppose judgements are personal opinions, so if you've wondered how an accent wall or a half-and-half look like in our BTOs, here you go! Experiment done so you can now decide more informedly whether or not you want this look for your precious 90sqm (or however large your home is). All colours were nippon paints and their names dependent on my (unreliable) memory: ze brown was sequoia dusk, blue was crystal blue, gray was the lightest warm gray I can't remember the name anymore. It's under off-white. And it really is an off-white; I think if I didn't know our home was in gray, my eyes might just glaze over and assume it's some sort of white. The brown is quite light too! If I could choose again, I'd choose both the brown and gray to be one shade darker. But that's all up to personal preference la; if you're all about subtle (like the Brilliance), you'll be very happy with how it turns out. If you're someone who's a little more bold in personality and taste, feel free to try a richer colour. Speaking of which, as our home develops, I can really see how it's an amalgamation of both the Brillance and I; which is awe-inspiring And humbling at the same time! (I find that in life, most things which inspire awe, also evoke humility. Both the high and the low at the same time; a state of affairs beyond my comprehension - but okay enough musing). tl;dr - our homes are a vivid expression of our personalities (: I'll conclude this post with a final photo, of sequoia dusk in the background, forgotten gray in front, white ceilings in hopeful contrast, and the Brilliance playing virtual dragons atop the painter's ladder

I've PMed a couple of you Babe, you're hilarious. Mmmm, are you able to help me ask the lady how much the round rattan in the first photo bottom right corner is? or top right, depending on you're craning your neck hahahahah. The circular one! By the way, the next post is dedicated to you cuz it's photos! of our newly painted home haha yay
