  1. Actually the dark ceiling is nicer even if i dont on the cove light haha. Got the space age at night (my theme is minimalist / futuristic / modern). When next time i watching movie. The ambient cove light will react to the sound sensor and thus it wont be too bright. For me i placed the white controller just within the cove light at. So i can just replace the controller with a connector. I connect one end of the controller with a female connector and the other end with a male connector. Not hard to change the controller. Btw the controller is also the driver itself. Its just only plug and play in the future if i need to change or replace. I have try the cove light yesterday night and the effect is super nice. If i paint the ceiling white. It would be a little over cause it will be super bright. The brightness is strong because i got add an additional rgb amplifier to boast the power output.
  2. Below is the example of using the Philip Hue Controller and using the apps for sound sensor, the cove led light strip will be able to set instruction when a phone call (it will blink a set number of time, depending on what I set) so that even if the phone is inside the room, I will know when people call me, it can be programme for other instruction as well, example messages or another other thing The example I did was to play a music sound from the radio and it will create a ambient light music flow
  3. bro you just need to cut the cable and buy an AC to DC transformer for 20-30bucks and you can connect it. This way you can use any lighting point, the live, netural and earth cable and just connect to the transformer and use the transformer output of 12V DC and connect the power cable of the controller instead of the PLUG (its has a mini transformer built in to convert AC (220v - 230v) to DC (12v) which required a power socket. I DIY my own circuit just using their white piece of controller the power in is red and black cable and the output is the 4 cable (RGBW). The W also refer to the black wire for those RGB led light strip.
  4. Not necessary big means wasting electricity, example for fridge, if your house got 4 people living in it and all 4 person (smaller fridge but frequent opening) vs 1 person (bigger fridge but lesser opening) opening the fridge to take stuff and every time, the fridge open, it loses the cold air, and will need to work harder to keep the fridge at the set temperature.Another example is washing machine, washing machine also consume a lot of electricity, if you buy a small washing machine for a house of 4, and all 4 wash at different or many times, its actually consuming more electricity. For single who brought the same size or bigger size as compared to the house of 4, its actually more cost effective in the long run. Its apply to most other appliances and aircon. Ultimately it bottom down to how one uses those appliances, appliances like aircon and fridge when they reach their designated temp, its will just be in a lower power mode and thus it help to cut electricity wastage. Unless those people set their aircon 18 degree and yet keep open their bedroom or main living room door and let the cold air escape and thus the aircon will keep using maximum power to try to maintain 18 degree temperature. But i think any logical person wont do that lol, must save the earth and also save the pocket.
  5. The Herf flooring is done at all the rooms, thus no need skirting, from what i understand, it is not compulsory to do skirting for vinyl or tiles flooring, but for tiles flooring, if dont do skirting, it will ugly cause you will see the tiles horizontal end and edge.
  6. Tao Hong ( Wind in the head) haha for me If got fan wind too strong when I sleeping. I will Dium Hong ( Wind in the stomach)
  7. Just do it. the styles you like.. Just as what I did for my kitchen (glossy red and black) and ceiling grey color (turn out not bad, not dull and quite cool and cosy for me). YOLO.
  8. So far for me, The renovation is kinda draggy.. because every day I visit the house.. when a idea struck me.. I will consult my ID and ask him if it could be done in that manner, he will give me suggestion and most of the time, he will tell me that its actually a better way to do it based on my idea, but he will improvise it better for me. haha
  9. That is why its kinda important to stay there for the whole process to make sure that you can make any changes to it when you deem fit. Cause its our house and ideas will stuck anything while they are installing the trunking or piping. During the aircon trunking installation, the aircon guy run the trunking in my study room at the wrong height because I have a sliding glass door and needed space to run the glass door track. if they install the trunking too low, my glass door track wont be able to install. One more thing is that since I am boxing up most of the aircon trunking, I stayed around to make sure that all the height and position of their trunking was run according to my ID instructions given to them early in the morning.
  10. The aircon need to have a top allowance in order to open from the front panel and service, example to take out the filter and wash. For LG Artcool, the fancoil for 9k BTU and 12k BTU are of the same size (standard size), the fancoil for 18k BTU and 24k BTU are of the same size (bigger than standard size). The beam at the living room and study room was purposely drop by an addition 4 inch suggested by my ID Mr L to conceal the aircon trunking as it was run below the original beam. The living room need to have a opening because its a bigger size fancoil even though there has been a 4 inch drop , longer height and longer length size(24000 BTU - originally i asked for the 18000 BTU fancoil for the living room, however the aircon company say that they run out of 18000 BTU fancoil for the LG Artcool and thus they did a free upgrade for me to the 24000 BTU fancoil ), since the beam has already drop a additional 4 inch, and the fancoil for the study room is a 9000 BTU unit (smaller fancoil), thus there is no need to create an additional vacant space from the false ceiling as the dropped 4 inch is good enough to create the space to open the fancoil unit in the study room for servicing. For the master bedroom, although its using the same size fancoil as the study room ( but a different btu, its 12000 BTU), there is still false ceiling and thus need to create the opening so that the aircon position wont be too low then. Imagine if the master bedroom dont have the opening at the false ceiling, in order to create a gap or space for the fancoil to be able to open for servicing, i will need to lower the position of the aircon fancoil and it will end up be too low for it. Hope my explaination is good enough, not too confusing.. haha
  11. I deal with the shop, but from what i heard from the people who came to install the eubiq, the price went up again. for the same package i took, its cost 300 more now.

  15. Renovation Journal (Daily) - Day 43 Installation of Eubiq track at kitchen and study room. Installation of aircon fancoil and compressor Was surprise to get a good news. The Aircon which I previously ordered for the system 3 is 9000 btu for study room, 12000 btu for master bedroom and 18000 btu for living room. However, the aircon guys from all best came and told me that they dont have stock for the 18000 btu fancoil and thus they did a free upgrade for me to the 24000 btu fancoil for my living room. What a nice surprise Eubiq track at one side of the kitchen carpentry. Eubiq track on the other side Eubiq track at the Study room. The entire Eubiq accessories that came with the package. LIving room Aircon (LG Artcool 24000 BTU fancoil) Study / Common room Aircon ( LG Artcool 9000 BTU fancoil) Master bedroom aircon (LG Artcool 12000 BTU fancoil )

  21. As long as one dont meddle with the structural slab of the wc and walls or relocating the orginal piping of the wc, it will not be of any issue. Its just a matter of using different connector wc and extra pvc piping to connect to the exisiting piping build by HDB No waste pipe is conceal under the flooring. And concealing waste or water pipe within the structural slab/wall. This is not allowed in HDB rules. What my ID did was just to use additional PVC pipe and connect to the original waste pipe, and then build a low hollow block wall to hide the additional PVC pipe. Like I mentioned before, a lot of ID will tell their customer they cant do it because if they never do a proper waterproofing at your toilet, it might become an issue in the future. As long as the works are properly carried out, and waterproofing testing is done and passed. Extract from HDB rules on renovation Types of WorkSubject to the Following Guidelines/ Conditions *Concealed waste/ water pipes in floor finishes/ wallFloor slab and wall must not be tampered with*Such work is discouraged as it may cause water leakage to lower floor unit if the work is not properly carried out. Extract from HDB renovation website on erecting walls Below is the image to explain how its works The waste pipe was not conceal at all within the floor slab, floor tiles and original wall and wall tiles. hope the pictures explain everything. If one decided to relocate their wc using the above method, please ensure your id/contractor to make sure that the workmanship is good and the connector is secure properly, if not later s*** might come out...
  22. that why I am disappointed by their workmanship.. area that they cannot reach, they basically just ignore it or did not bother to make good the place...
