HIHI, I know this thread is an old one but i really very vexed about my current situation! my hse has dry termites from a bedroom door. can i check if your problem has been solved? is removing the door suffice already or do i have to engage pest contro?! very frsutrated!!! and my hse is already past 1 month 21 days from 1 year...so hdb dont gaurantee!!!!

DO NOT GO TO SUKI i have seen Malvin's reply from renotalk and called her directly (thinking i can get a cheaper deal) she did not tell me she is NO LONGER WITH WELLMAX and i met up with her for a quote. After meeting up, She claims her husband and herself has set up a new company to compete in same business line.. i raved about Malvin's comments on her cheap quote and shown great trust in her. The following day, i received a quote thru email from her summing up to $21xx I am quite certain the amt shouldnt be that much..hence, i decided to do a google search on other window grilles vendors and called for a quick quote through the phone, quoting (double hollow grilles, xx number of total ft length, xx of rooms in my unit, xx panels of windows in svc balcony). I quoted all based on the items Suki listed me, and guess wat? even thru phone, i can get a quote cheaper than hers.. the fellow quoted me $17xx and said, this is open for further neg after they have come up to my house in person to give a more accurate quote. I send this back to her and said, she quoted me WAY TOO HIGH..and sounding abit annoyed by her DISHONESTY. the fellow from phone which i dun even know at all, quoted me a price of few dollars cheaper than hers PER FOOT. hence total sum would mean a substaintial amt She only let me know she is no longer with wellmax when i met up with her. My mom has advised me that it's not safe to deal with her, coz 1) she is dishonest even though i quoted her that someone in forum recommended her for her cheap and reliable quote 2)she seems to be luring me to meet up with her before she disclose she is not with her ex company , wellmax. I contacted her based a reputable company and what if my windows are not fixed properly? where can i locate her? malaysia? (she is a malaysian/ i duno if she is a PR) She immediately called me to revised the quote to $17xx, which is ONLY $50 cheaper. im not happy...not that i feel the price is steep, but simple becoz it shows that her quote is only neg to be $50 cheaper than what the phone vendor quoted me...is this enough for me to forgive her dishonesty for a quote $50 cheaper than her compatitor? Anyway, i rejected her politely and said i need time to access my final decision. She seems hard up and kept emailing and called me. I met up with Eric finally last week and decided to share this. He revealed that she was fired for some reasons and he prefer not to go into insight of the details for ethical reasons. But he asked me to judge based on how i encountered her 'honesty' in quote. End of session, he spent 2 hours in my house, explaining to me on specs of windows, possible designs in window, patterns of windows and quoting /pointing neighbour's house window designs. he is patient and realli amazed me by his conversation with my very naggy mom who kept asking him repeated qn.. his final quote to me is $14xx for a 4room we are very happy with his qoute and scv (after comparing it with Suki, which im very disappointed) I am sharing this as a advice and guide to all others who just read Malvin's great description of her. I hope, when she read this post...she will do some SOUL SEARCHING and will quote a reasonable price to future home makers like how she quoted Malvin's. She has to be morally ethical in quoting price and not suck our blood dry on top of all other house purchase of home makers! to Malvin: i think she has changed her mindset when quoting price coz she is now the boss of her own company and i also found out, her company is only a reg company without any shop or watever.

hihi fleshy, where u heard about the room within room thingy that doesnt work without a door? im so happy and glad i saw your post! was feeling rather vexed that i had this partitioned square area for my walk in wardrobe within the MBR. wonder if puting up string curtains is fine? luckily mine doesnt come with a sliding door or wat.. it's true on wat u mentioned in your personal point of view..but if we found out such theories, cant help feeling anxious about it.. :S

hi z3rion, all your replies seems to be my queries. i jsut came to realise that fang zhong fang theory is in 1 of the magazine in u weekly's fengshui section. but all has been done..and surely there must be a remedy duno if we should cover the clothes of the walk in wardrobe with a curtain or a string curtain for entrance of walk in wardrobe??!?!?!?!

hi, my hubby and i had signed up with Home success, met them at EXPO hall on last week's exhibition. The id so far, has managed to gain our trust. Even before negotiation, I compared his quote with 2 other quotes from Unimax and Baroque, his is relatively cheaper. Prior to signing, i had requested the Id to even quote me the cheaper item from Baroque and he did so. Mayb he understand that this is gona be our first home and we cant afford much. Aft signing the quote, my bro said home sucess is well known for its slightly marked up price as compared to other IDs Hence we felt very uneasy. My bro suggested that we pass our quote to his ID fren from another firm and if the fren can quote us few k cheaper, y not switch it and forgo the 500 deposit. To our amaze, the ID fren replied telling us that this ID from homesucess is merely quoting a marginal profit and he cannot take up the job. I had quite lot of capentry work in my unit..and hacked aways 2 walls in bedroom nearest to living room and bedroom 3 to create walk in wardrobe. So far so good. HOpe to update more when my house starts reno in Dec. *pray that i can cont to rave about them* im sure there are some who also signed up. hope to learn more about homesucess as all post are back dated in 08 and 07!

hi, i read your raves about kelvin and went to him as my first ID to consult. he did give a very good and convincing presentation. BUT his quoote is way too high.. being a newbie in renovation as this is our first home, i guess he knew we are very green in this area. his quotation shocked us as a four room flat costs us 27k even with floorings done..to be fair, we had some capenrty as well. but as we compared the quote, most of his items quoted us are 100-150 more ex than others quote us. it's realli dissappointing as we wanted to engaged him stil coz we reali have confident in unimax. he promised to requote and revert to us by last sun, sadly he did not follow up. i even dropped him an email to ask him revised his quote on other areas, but he did not reply since a week ago! i duno how to further engaged him as the ID..coz i have lose faith in him..yet i like the design. sigh!! as for baroque, i feel their design are abit old sch and abit 'uncle' do you all think so?

Dear all, after reading the 2 full pages, i have collected these detailed findings from your posts. is this correct? i have read that sprinkling the salt on them is painful, so have to pray first, place fruits first then sprinkle? OR i should sprinkle first, then pray??? below compiled for the convience of others: * Find a auspicious date and time according to your baizi. * Only immediate families allow to go in. No outsiders. * After that, cannot enter for 3 days. eg) monday open door, wait until thur can open door??) Things to bring 1) 1 Pineapple (wan li) (to row into your house) say something good word like huat ah!! 2) 5 Red Apples or kum (ji xiang ru yi) 3) Grapes 4) Bananas 5) Fa Gao 6) Charcoal (wrap in red paper) All put in the middle of the living room. 7) Salt and Rice (to sprinkle all over the house incl toilet, storeroom, all rooms) 8) Burn Joss Stick (incl. 2 wax candles) and burn incense paper (middle of the house beside the offerings): for Buddhist Procedure 1) Prepare & bring all 8 items above & 大悲咒水 2) Open the door (by house owners only) and say nice things (huat, ping an etc). 3) Before step in, say I am the new owner and will be living here from now onward, whoever that is staying inside please move out now, I will burn some offerings for you, thanks. 4) When open the door, immediately row the pineapple to the living room. 5) Now enter the door 6) Then go in, pick the pineapple up and place it with the rest of the fruits in middle of living room 7) Open windows and Wait for a while before burn the incenses paper. Remember do not let any strangers come in. 8) Burn incense paper in a container in the middle of living room beside the fruits 9) Pray in middle of house + all 4 corners = just say EXCUSE me need to do renovation, say our name,bought this house and will be moving in. Than say a lot of good words like pin an lah, etc 10) Sprinkle rice, salt and 大悲咒水 at all corners of the house. ( once you enter the hosue & spinkle 大悲咒水, it will be very painful for them.) While sprinkling the water, chant the following: 觀世音菩薩心咒（六字大明咒） 嗡。 嘛 呢 叭 咪 吽 Oh ma ni pei me ohm 11) leave house intact for 3 days 12) Outside the maindoor: After completed, burn incense paper on the outside of the house. 13) Return only after 3 days. After 3 days, bring a big plastic. We open the door again and discard the fruits beside a tree, left 1 pineapple at main door
