  1. Yup cheaper by a lot. Not near checkpoint leh see your floorplan as posted below for suggested possible places for shelves / racks highlighted in pink squares. Good night!
  2. *grins* near the bathroom ma. hm then your layout a bit hard cos got to see your place in person to give better ideas. Both sides of causeway already tightening security now. lol If you still want the contact for the JB furn shop I went to, just pm me. hehe
  3. Skywolf, Paiseh I didn't make myself clearer. What I was referring to the main kitchen entrance. You could put shelves or racks where I suggested earlier on? If you want to get some decent furniture, you can consider getting from JB also.
  4. Skywolf, you bought your furniture yet? Furnishings add up to your renovation costs too ma. Looking at your floorplan, there's no where to put any shelving unless you want to put the shelving on the left wall beside the main entrance?
  5. Yup 4k for both top and bottom cabinets plus box up that is. And also the kitchen lobang by my parents in law, say that if having more drawers, it is a bit more ex cos takes time to fabricate the no of drawers required + extra material to do them. So having cabinet doors is easier and cheaper. That's why I have a total of 5 drawers + 8 doors for the bottom cabinet. Flooring wise, patrick's quote for kitchen is 800, balcony for 450 together with waterproofing for 3 years at 250. An another contractor who gave us a quotation for homogenous tiles for whole house totalling 7500 as the price of sand had gone up! Sand cost was at 1.2k This quotation was given last year in august so not sure if the price range is around there now. That is why I opt for laminated flooring instead You got to see which one is within your budget, if not enough to allocate, you can hold some items and do them slowly. Flooring wise, I think patrick's quote is reasonable compared to the other contractor for kitchen floor
  6. Cheekybee, then we got the same medifresh autumn colour for our place. At first I thought that the colour will turn out to be a deep purple colour 'cos I got them from the warehouse sale. It turned out to be a nice light pastel shade of purple. A bit like lavender. Hehehe.
  7. Your house looks better la with all those sexy designer furniture, not to mention your matchbox bedframe. Also gives loft theme an chic upmarket feel.
  8. Mine was 2.2k for a bottom only 13ft cabinet with solid surface. If include box up for the pipes and top cabinets of a total of 24ft. it will be around 4k.
  9. LOL since the dog belongs to my hubby, its natural my hubby got a soft spot for it. That why my hubby's not that fierce as me when it comes to scolding and spankings. I reckon I'm the alpha when it comes to the dog but when it comes to household stuff and other matters, we both take turns to be alpha to make the decisions. Kekeke
  10. Bobo_girl, no prob. I don't have any contact for good tiler or marble tiler 'cos my whole place except kitchen & balcony, are laminated. If you're engaging Ho Bee to do the tiling works, you will be in good hands with little worries.
  11. 38k is alot since you're not doing much to your home except for the wet areas. You can decide which type of work to engage the contractor for and get another contractor to do other works that can be done cheaper. Only thing is do you have the time to co-ordinate the works? This is an alternative. Or else have to go through a few more see how much you're going to spend on renovations as per budget
  12. Greycat, your hubby don't mind being in beta category? !!
  13. Hmm so L shape is facing the windows?
  14. Hey hey Greycat. Yes the only occupied unit on the floor now. Hard lah cos hubby knocks off earlier than me and I reach home like around 8plus max. So only have to exercise precaution likewise
  15. But my hubby's dog is not a yorkie but a silky terrier. I think they're distant cousins in terms of the breed. LOL
  16. Hope so. I met my next door unit neighbours, 'A' last weekend. A friendly couple. And met another friendly neighbour, 'C' with his mother from the other side on the same floor. My hubby met another couple whose unit is opp the unit of the neighbour, 'C' also. Best thing is my floor will be all chinese occupants, so less issues 'cos if have malay neighbours, they will mind dogs due to religion and etc. Only thing is they won't be moving in so soon 'cos they only receive keys recently & start renovation now.
  17. Apple: JiaYou le, you can do it. Just don't stress yourself out on this cos the more you stress, it makes it worse. Try to see it positively and you do fine.
  18. Hey cheekybee, your living room's purple colour is exactly the same shade as my study room's. Is it Autumn under the medifresh range btw?
  19. yup, he called the police this morning after seeing the syringe and bloodstains & they came over to check also. I saw those things after coming back from work. Think the block should be fully occupied then less chance of such incidences happening due to having occupants on every floor that is. Those teenage boys are even worse. Young punks and still want to try illegal thing also. I suppose for every pros there's always the cons.
  20. Hm I'm not sure about this part but probably likely is got to change whole thing if spoilt Hmm, if doing L-Shape, where is the L-Shape line going to face which corner of the kitchen? Psst... see link here.. http://www.homeportfolio.com/catalog/Produ...p;prodId=174890 This is a picture of an integrated sink.
  21. I also drooling too. Literally salivating. I like the ambience of your place as shown in the pic. The colour of the walls & tv console looks simple and understated not to mention it got the feel. Thats a classic mix!
  22. hey greycat! Not bad Yuki's starting to learn who's boss now. You can watch it only on Wednesdays so its still flexible for you and Yuki play time for the week. kekeke. Some dogs are actually good company and therapy for old people. Just slowly intro your parents and the others ma. My parents weren't terribly fond of keeping dogs as pets last time but now, they're still keeping. (My dog) I'm sure it'd work out hehe and besides dogs are like children so its akin to scolding a naughty or errant kid in tow if they're naughty. And cannot feed dogs human food. Why? Basically it is very bad for their health. Too much MSG will affect their health directly. Dogs cannot take salty foods also. Just ask any petshop or dog owner and they'd will tell you the same thing. That's why its better to feed them only dog foods.
  23. Hehehe, can. See whether they'd make a good duo of being partners in crime somemore.
  24. I think integrated sink is something like moulded sink. You know HDB toilet vanity top for the MBR? that's something like an integrated sink 'cos it's moulded together to form a neat top without any joint lines showing compared to an undermounted or top mounted sink. I don't know if im correct on this part. Your kitchen size looks big leh are you having an U shape for the kitchen layout?
  25. Ixiul : To add on to your post about the kitchen cabinets part, here's my belated reply 'cos I didn't see that part while reading your post. hehe I better myself for being blur also. Anyway the kitchen cabinet was not done by Ho Bee as my parents in law recommend a kitchen contractor to us instead. So we engaged him after working out the quotes. Ho Bee did the tiling works for the kitchen & balcony only. The kitchen size, when i say counting by the kitchen length, not the cabinet length... It's about 18 ft long and kitchen cabinet length is about 13ft long. I also have recess area at the other side of the wall where washing machine is by. I had also checked with a few contractors on the kitchen quotation including Ho Bee, quite ex to do a long kitchen length like ours and not much difference in the pricing. Which is why we engaged the contractor by my parents in law since his quotation is cheaper in comparison. You can do a comparison with other contractors besides Ho Bee's quotation to see how they'd do a rough calculation of your kitchen costs
