  1. I still haven't gotten the door bell buzzer yet. I also don't know how to configure the door bell thing if buy buzzer le. Got wires meant for the buzzer still sticking out in the kitchen tile at the moment.
  2. Nice 3D drawings! Seems like you be having alot of carpentry done for your place
  3. if you want to hang pots and pans, the best bet for you is to get a bar to put on the wall below the top cabinet instead of a rack cos can use the hooks to place on the bar and hang the pots, pans and even anything as long has a hole for the hook to latch on. Otherwise another alternative is to get wall hooks to hang whatever so that you can save more storage space in your cabinets. Or else get a trolley like the Ikea Udden trolley? You're using the current kitchen cabinets shown in your blog? See what can be done.
  4. lxiul: I think it depends on your kitchen layout ie; one long straight line against one wall or L-Shaped, or even a U-Shape. The type of kitchen layout will vary with the measurement ma. So you'd go and measure your kitchen size then figure out what is the actual measurement stated in your quotation. You could ask Patrick about it. When you compare the prices, it may be ex for certain items but if you look at it another way, what you pay for is final and the works done is worth it compared to hidden costs and slipshod work by other people who may not do it so well. Furthermore, HDB walls are not evenly plastered or smooth enough which is why paint works will be a bit tricky. 'Cos have to paint even more to cover up patchy parts that will appear after 1st layer of paint when distributed with a roller brush. I had this problem myself and spent more time than the normal time frame just for touching up here & there(me and hubby doing DIY paintworks ourselves).. Patrick also commented that the walls are not smooth, ie; plastering problem. Bobogirl : regarding patrick's tiler, they did the flooring for the kitchen & balcony for me. Can see the pic of the flooring in my T-blog. They did the works in less than 2 days and required minimal supervision without patrick or us around. Very efficient.
  5. Sidetrack here a bit. the promised pic of the sofa bed by Nova ***Picts Taken Down***
  6. Skywolf: Think you only have eyes for other people's doggies lol. I never put up a pic of d dog at Greycat's thread. It's in my thread but the dog in question is not really mine. It's my hubby's. Chinchillas aren't in rabbit-cat category leh, greycat. They're a different type of rodents actually. And they're more delicate as in their bone structure so have to be really careful with them.
  7. Hi all, just got back from work and dinner. Skywolf : they charged for only the drilling & assembly ma. But assembly charges is not high compared to the drilling part. It's stated clearly in the invoice. If you want to install, maybe you can try sim siang choon since it carries both stainless steel products & does installation for a fee. I had my dishrack & spice rack installed on the wall by them. Other shops carrying stainless steel products for kitchen should also have. You can try checking out those first before deciding Greycat : Yep it is very ex. I feel the pinch. They go by the drilling charges per hole. You try counting the no of holes involved for your bookshelf then work out the maths. Cantona : Been away? lolx Yes living in JW and LLhome is my next block neighbour too! Hee. Gathering have to be at Greycat's place since she mention she having hsewarming plans coming up
  8. A good heater will be around 100-200 but do check with the salesperson on the flow of hot water coming out. I bought this mistral heater partly cos of its compact size and partly cos the salesperson said it is a good brand. But when its installed, I find that the water flow if turned on high pressure, the water is only lukewarm. After much adjustment to the flow, then I find that if turn on low pressure, its hot.
  9. Hmm i think both male & female doggies are affectionate ba. Only difference is the female ones tend to be gentle and more tuned in to the feelings better. I don't know why but it is like that for my own dog.
  10. LOL Hmm.. consolidated order seems more clear cut but how many of us will want to get the drill? need to see who else want to share? And of cos, the cost?
  11. Hmm Toilet accessories don't have to be around 1k unless you want the more expensive ranges I spent less than that for both sets of accessories. 1 Towel rack is about 20-30plus for eg. so usually most accessories are around that range. Instant water heaters range for 100-200 unless buying a big storage heater. Mirrors range from 28 to 40 plus for small sizes usually found in common toilets. For bigger sizes meant for MBR, its about 100 plus and above depending on how big you want the mirror. Gives you a rough idea. Perhaps you might want to re-allocate some left over expenses from your toilet budget for soft furnishings too.
  12. That's a good idea! Only thing is the transport (for those who don't drive) + location, ie; some of us stay west, northeast and so on. Then who is gg to keep the drill? Of cos the drill bits we keep ourselves. Who's gg to be the Keeper? lol
  13. 12 holes leh. I remember Ikea charges $3 for the first 3 holes or was it 2 holes? Followed by $4 per hole subsequently. Next time I want to drill, I go buy the drill bits and electric drill. Ask hubby to do it better. Men are good at this kind of stuff.
  14. Looks good.Very tempting to go and sleep in a bedroom like this for one, the space where the bed and console looks very cosy. Mainly 'cos spaces like the one in the MBR where bed is in, it gives the homely feel. Your ID did a good job of conceptualising the place and maximising the space to the fullest! Definitely looks worth it
  15. JW. But nice place you have there. I almost wanted to sign up with EI back then and was hoping to get benedict or one of the known IDs at EI recommended in here. We'd got Zann who got in touch with us. She said she'd would get back to us after a short while of correspondence then. In the end she never did and we'd decided to get Ho Bee instead. 'Cos we'd decided not to do any major renovations and that Zann didn't appear keen on having our business from my perception.
  16. Wah, your wardrobe is sooooo sleek and nice! A girl's dream wardrobe! Your MBR looks like a condo bedroom with the new entrance, the wardrobe & the frosted toilet door. The effect looks like a real condo for an HDB flat cos look luxurious to rest at home like this!
  17. Good luck! Don't worry so much about it as like the others mention, just save up as much as you can as an alternative. Then you'd might have some spare funds to use in the end after spending on renovations.
  18. I can say that the shelving is very secure due to the firm drilling. Should not be a problem as for the max weight, I'm not sure as I've only placed pots, pans and whatever misc stuff only. Those are light items if going by the weight.
  19. Skywolf: Ah, the yr of the rat is not good for the horse but if you want to move in and etc. Then why don't you do simple renovations first since major renovations is considered bad for the horse. Simple renovations can involve basic paintworks and flooring for new flats and anything for resale flats as long don't involve hacking & etc if i remember right since major renovations involve hacking. I haven't read up much on FS cos I just anyhow read. Flip flip then read.. then flip flip lorh. For moving in, just check with your fsm if there are certain dates which will considered safe to move in if you'd want to rely on FS
  20. Kekeke, got to wait till I go back to my parent's home first to take a pic. Don't have a pic of my dog now as I changed phone already. Didn't save it to a thumbdrive.
  21. Sounds like you're going to have your hands full since Yuki is more 'play' motivated. I think both of you will be burnt out very fast by then. As for bathing, hold her down on the floor and coax her gently. Say all kinda mushy nonsensical stuff to it to calm it down cos some dogs don't like to be bathed & always put up a struggle. Believe when Yuki matures into an adult, she'd be more settled down already then it will be less of a problem
  22. That's good. Purple is a colour of calm besides wealth, power which is generally favoured by the royalty. Now latest paint trend is that purple and blue are the hot colours other than grey, green and red.
  23. I better not post pic of my own dog sia. later you both also want to dognap my dog too as well.
