  1. same doors is nicer if ur sink is same side as all ur cabinets. what kind of solid top would you have? Hood is useful if you are a heavy cook. I remember when my mum fry her chili and spices, so overpowering the smell. but think you need to calculate though if the hood is suitable for the space. and in HDB, the hood just extract the air to push it towards ur kitchen ceiling.
  2. yes smartbox is his baby! he was quite insistent..ha! he never ask u? i shall let him know tt u r keen lol!
  3. i would ask MDL to install because if anything wrong can go back to them
  4. when my tilers were doing the work, they weren't wearing any safety equipment either. so scary...sometimes they would re-emerge covered in fine dust, red eyes what kind of gates are you looking for? http://www.steeldios.com/products/ http://www.mydigitallock.com.sg/door-gate.html
  5. i didn't do any market research, thought 770 is not really sale price ? love how compact it is though...can't wait to play YES i also didn't think about buying the boxes on TB but buy early yah, they took about 3 weeks to deliver.
  6. laminate from Lamitak now waiting for the countertop from kompacplus!
  7. Dust has settled a bit..electricians putting up lights, carpenters still working on the kitchen I actually chose a lovely green laminate as a backing for the bookshelf but we made a rather unfortunate mistake of painting the walls a similar green the silvery parts will be covered with glass because it's a whiteboard (for very tall people, hmm). inside is the shoerack and DB board and SMARTBOX thingy. the carpenter made a makeshift doorstop on the door to prevent the doorknob from hitting the cabinet door. We are contemplating having the main door open on the other side so that it won't bang on the cabinet. does anyone know if we have to change the door frame if we want to do this? yesss counter space. i was wondering where to put a dishrack, was thinking of doing a wall mount. but now got that little sliver of place next to the sink... the study and our window storage bench. we don't have a sofa outside (it's in the TV room, our lovely IKEA leather sofa) so may be a little limited in terms of seating. My cousin made one at her house and I thought it was the nicest thing ever. will be getting a cushion to put on top. there will be two eubiq strips hiding underneath, one corner will be dedicated to charging our devices.
  8. we took FOREVER to decide on toilet doors. everything he showed me i said was ugly, we almost gave up! common toilet has standard bi-fold though. caveat about this door...maybe it's because of where the light is (right now it's hanging off the pipe on the right side) but urm, can actually see the person inside ah. here you can see my tiler inside, he's wearing yellow and red. But our toilet is along the walkway to the MBR so in a way, no 'free show' for people
  9. I am beside myself over the kitchen cabinets LOL yes he did the carpentry (by he did, i mean we got him to do the carpentry), he insisted to add the black trim and I'd have to say, they do lend quite a nice touch
  10. wow thanks so much! that looks like a great idea
  11. Reached my unit today to find it in a real frenzy! My electrician was installing downlights The tilers were finishing up the kitchen and toilets There were like 5-6 people doing the carpentry We also decided to postpone the move-in date to give everyone more time to get their things done... GPGT- came out of the lift to see this! MY BLUM SPACE TOWERRR (upside down) either part of my bookcase or window storage bench study area feature bookcase kitchen cabinets and bar counter To anyone reading: The thing about L-shaped cabinets is that you always end up with that unusable corner. initially we talked about putting the corner doors like this: but that didn't happen What are the potential problems with this layout? Anything I should look out for?
  12. your sale completed already or still waiting the second appointment? think she's trying to ketok you..i know my agent told me that anything affixed to the walls or ceilings must be left to the buyer. best to go through your agents, after all they earn commission from you leh..
  13. you are not doing full reno isit? were u planning to keep all these in the first place?
  14. yes actually anything attached to the ceilings and walls should come with the house. do you have an agent? tell your agent to tell her agent. for my place, we assumed that the seller wanted our ceiling fans (sob) but they told us they were doing a 100% reno and that we could take everything so that's what i will be doing *muahaha* but i'm not sure if the fixtures to be left behind should have been written down on the OTP or ?
  15. T-8 days yesterday was painting and the tilers are back at work to finish up the tiling since the windows are installed master toilet door - bifold with wire glass. mmm. i think wire glass reminds me of chickens and i like chickens. they were painting the downstairs, and somehow we inadvertently ended up looking a kindergarten. green, blue, yellow and orange. I don't know what's going on. hopefully when the furniture comes in things will look a bit better lol
  16. hoorrrrr plumbing is next Tuesday, iirc. Don't think there would be an issue with the rainshower height, ceiling is about 2.6m but guess will find out next week ho ho
  17. T-9 days Painting done in the bedrooms dark green feature wall with rose white in the MBR kids got to choose their own colour Toilet windows put in today (i love wire glass i don't know why) master toilet top hung with the exhaust fan. lovely view of the sewage pipes just outside. we opted not to cover up the hole where the window AC unit was, and instead put in a glass panel instead. perhaps not the wisest decision but figured can let in more light and maybe see some birds fly into it (because last weekend I learnt birds can't see glass lol) ok jk animal lovers don't flame me toilet fittings are also here....felt like we bought a lot but doesn't look like a lot?
  18. IKRRRR i was also thinking that..then I realised that October is urm 2 days away??
  19. our ID is overseas atm so i told his second IC to not touch the wall till he returns. deep in my heart i want to believe...
  20. our handover of my current place is mid October. Was worried that we wouldn't be able to finish moving everything in that last weekend so I split it into two we asked for the bedrooms to be ready first, and there's no carpentry involved upstairs so should be able to finish quickly. but we also need to polish and varnish the flooring.
  21. hahahah! is it the next big item to hit Singapore homes? i will probably be keeping them in the store till people visit tho lol today was plumbing day...the new pipes so shinyy and they are putting up the L-boxes in the dining and study. this weekend will be spent sealing and labelling the packing boxes, we're 2 weekends away from our Phase 1 move!
  22. @sapphire89 waah very honoured! thanks thanks...but OMG! I really thought I was going crazy! It's not an easy job to redo and the tiles were ahem not welly cheap so it's not just a matter of tearing down and re-doing grrr
  23. @rae spam links here: 1) OPPLE ceiling lights 1 & 2 2) geometric ceiling light 3) longish wall light 4) 'cheesecake' ceiling light @kingandbin > you're right..the cheesecake light is made of "iron wood craft, the exquisite natural" and thanks for dropping by, love seeing the your progress as well.
