  1. TIP is now in Balestier. Anymore recommendations/review about them now?
  2. I am also considering a freelance designer. Have my own carpenter, and would like to have some help on the 3D. My unit is just a small studio, any help will be great.
  3. Hi all, After meeting up with 3 IDs recommended in this forum, I was astounded that none of them actually offer to check the house for further design ideas and details before quotation. The SOP is to give them the floor plan, tell them what you are looking for, and then they come out with the quote. The problem with this SOP is that without looking at the house, how can the ID value add in terms of ideas or to validate what the owner wants can be implemented? If this is the SOP, wouldn't it be better for the owner to get a contractor directly? The contractor will definitely go to site, listen to what the owner wants and can validate or even offer advice on the spot what can be done or improved. Quoting without looking at the house will certainly bring out potential dispute down the road. I thought the value of ID is to improve upon the owner's ideas and bring out maximum value and design beauty within the owners budget. So the question is this.....anybody knows of any ID who at least take the trouble of visiting the house to give design inputs before quotation? if you have, please ecommend them to me. Thanks
  4. Hi, thanks for this wonderful blog. Your blog is a lifesaver for small apartment owners because there are not many blogs on studios! I have a studio apartment (45sqm) coming up and would really want an ID who is experience in doing smaller apartments. I feel that storage solutions and space planning is extremely critical in such a small apartment (mine will be more challenging cos that 45sqm even includes balcony and 2nd bedroom!!, so can imagine how small is the living and master). Any ID you can recommend? Also, for the platform bed, it is the similar idea that i have, but I would want storage below the bed. Any supplier reccomendation for that? Thanks for any help.
  5. Just want to highlight that when the thread starter started this topic, it was in 2009. Now 7 years later, has anyone tried this recommended ID and still see the same quality level?
  6. somehow could not find the website of this company. Anyone knows the URL?
  7. Hi guys, I am looking for a ID who specialises or who have at least done up some small shoebox apartments (<500 sqft) before. The key requirement for shoeboxes apartment is often on storage solutions and space optimising so that it still look livable and cosy. I feel that interior designing a shoebox would probably need a lot of creativity since space is quite limited yet it still has to look nice with sufficient storage. If you know of any ID who has done a great job in small shoebox apartments, kindly let me know or PM me. I need recommendation because most ID websites only show bigger houses portfolio. Any ID who is keen to take this up as a challenge can let me know as well. Thanks
