huh? how come the sound travels around? no one is staying at the unit above me how come there's sound... so spooky.. this place may not be so safe at nite. the other day i heard teenagers (sound like) making noise nto the night at 12+, just now i heard quarreling sounds in the distance...hmm

i donm't think they collected from us. but i did receive a giro application from IRAS to pay my property tax and tv license viz GIRO.. hope the property tax s pro-rated.. it betta be!! by the way can u hear your upstairs (or maybe downstairs since no one is living above me currently!!) when they turn on the tap.. its very irritating..

yeah it is really coldat night... though today seems ok. don't need fan, don't need air con (even though we hurriedly got these two item..) somemore we are <5th floor loh!! Brrrrr..my windows are only slightly open.. but today it's not so cold. most of my windows are facing northeast.. quite unblocked, although 25B is just opposite and 26C is almost touching distance from my MBR.. haha..

i'm back!! I'v moved in as of last sat!! it was a last minute decision as i was surfing the net on fri nite and found hat 25 and 26 jan are auspicious days for me and my hubby.. if we don't take these 2 days, it will have to be 6 feb and that's chinese new year's eve! it's nice here, reasonably quiet, though my mum's place s quieter and more exclusive. and oh yeah the hardwaokring banglas work till quite late, so you can se and sometimes hear a bit people carrying sand and stuff... so far 3 lights at my lift lobby are borken down and my (inconsiderate) neighbour's cardboard boxes have been at my floor rubbish chute since sunday nite and no one's cleared! wonder what we pay S&C for lor.. well but oevrall it's a very convenient, albeit a little further from my office in jurong now..but i just ca back from eating at the coffeshop and NTUC shopping... oh yeah and blk 27B still don't have starhub interne.. they told us to go contact HDB to request... now using huby's work laptop and wireless connection..

kitchen tiles could be damaged by chemical washing. mine for the kitchen tiles cement/glue came off, ask contractor to patch up, of course he's not happy.. but since he created the problem, he should take care of it! for me, i stay at 27B very easy to report defects.. hahah.. they know me by now, and also my husband's face..the sub con is unwilling to change my kitchen switch because my reno is completed. i told him, hey when i reported the defect my house was empty, now the house is filling up.. and they dare say this... i'll make a big noise to HDB if they continue pushing responsibility

With the delivery of furniture, i can say for now that dealing with the furniture shops/suppliers is more pleasant than my contracotr...i absolutley refuse to give him the last 10% last week... c'mon it was not the OFFICIAL handover lo... how can it be official when he asked me not to change locks.. joker.

i experienced the magnet thing with one of the bedrooms too. Asked the china con guy to come he just used his hand to screw it back tight.. seems ok..

AMK ave 10, u start from AMK central, go along MRT tracks going towars YCK, turn right at Nanyang Poly, near the entrance of the poly, turn right in, that should be going to AMK ave 10... by the way i took bus there. this is what i rmbr from the route. they do sell furniture and mattresses.. an e.g. of a good price, shoe cabinet i saw can't rmbr if it's 200+ or 300+, but i saw the same exact thing sold at a mall roadshow - $488.

haha, there are only 4 units at our place per level, 2 neighbours are not chinese (confirmed) and one last one, whose unit is facing me.. dunno whether is chinese or not, anyway our doors dun face each other.. shouldn't matter right?

Our studyroom is now ready! As mentioned earlier, 2 L shaped tables with pedestals and drawers and one bookshelf and 2 highback PC chairs from Lizo. if it werent for the dumbass column by the window, the clearance between the 2 L shaped desks can be about 10-15 cm more loh! Mattress also in! We got ours from this HDB shop called Dekia at AMK Ave 10. Uncle was really nice, i din have to put any deposit at all.. and they accepted cheque on delivery.. I think the best place to buy mattress is those HDB shops (actually many things are good to buy there as service is usually good and better than those big shops, quality could be the same or better, and prices are better!). I got mine at 10% less than places like Home2be. Of course you can't use credit card, but hey, being 10% cheaper more than compensates! Now only left with stuff from Scanteak!! !! Sofa and coffee table we will just wait till a good deal comes along (maybe great singapore sale) this month's credit card bill is just scary.. i'm dreading it..

Anyone having problems regarding payment with your contractor? I'm left with 10% for him. Already paid him last week some money and last week i'd say it should be counted as officially handover, as even though the week before last, things more or less finalised, he had not completed the touching up yet. However he counted the week before last week as handover as the things were all in!! Contract says balance 10% is 2 weeks upon handover. Hence, the balance payment should be next week (since only last week he let us change key, the week before he put lame excuse for not letting us change key, i bet his purpose is so that he can still bring people over to view our place!!).. What do you guys think?
