If you have a Bosch oven, mine has a tiny thermometer icon that pops up while pre-heating, and goes away once it hits the mark. Else, I imagine a light indicator comes on while preheating, and goes off when done?

Oh wow. I would love to hear your story and how the "little guys" won :DDD

Your living room — sweeeeeeee!

Hi @matchalatte
Just wanted to say, been following your renovation journey and boy, those moody colours look sexy! Love the vibe
You mentioned this is your second home. Wondering what was the style of your previous home? What veered you towards a bachelor pad's vibe this time? Just

I got mine from JB and installed by my electrician but it is very noisy with clicking sound.
Hey just chiming in to say — my contractor's electrician installed my Aeratron and it made the clicking sound because it wasn't installed properly. In the end, I got a fan installer who had experience with Aeratron, and the sound went away. Hope this helps!

I believe they should have the stock for the woodgrain color. I didn't call before heading down. Perhaps to make sure they have the stock, you may want to give them a call first before making the trip.
Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for posting about the aeratron fan & the korean restaurant *yumz*! Do you know if they stock the woodgrain one? Did you have to call to make sure they have supplies before going to JB? Thinking of making the trip as well.

Haha, sorry! I'm been only sourcing online -- haven't gotten round to asking Shanghai Tong Lee for their prices either! Shall update if I do. So far, your TB pull-out rack looks great! But I'm looking for those narrow wire ones too, so IKEA is out for me. Have no clue how to TB — so might be excel for me! @Catt got the excel pull-out larder, shall ask her if the quality's worth the price.

but it's ok, I looked up the excel link you provided and compared with Ikea's utrusta wire basket. i think their price is pretty ok considering the quality looks better
From the pictures, Excel has 2 versions, I think the quality of excel slider mechanism(even the cheaper one) is somewhat Ikea utrusta could not match, thus the huge price difference.
i should also mention your contractor definitely did the right thing to wait for your own purchase internal racks to arrive before they start as they need to measure physical item and build the cabinet carcass width to suit.
My situation is different, carcass already done, trying to find else something else to suit. Dimensions is critical. Most likely it will have to be Ikea, since mine was customed to Ikea door fronts.
@Changbp @kingandbin Kaypoh and chiming in since I'm looking for the same narrow pull-out condiments rack. Also found some at Shanghai Tong Lee if you are looking for more options!

Gate is very chio! You have that stencil cut-out for your unit numbers too? I like it! Are you painting your door lilac? heh heh
I'm getting a wire mesh gate too. Do you mind PM-ing the price from Steel Dios? I got a quote from Doctor Doors and it's more pricey than what they listed on their website! So zzzzzzz
-
Guess what you're totally right again! I think the trying-to-save money wherever will come back and bite me in the end and best to just suck it up and pay.
Your gate is coming today?! pictures!
-
So excited i forgot to answer your question! Yes, very tempted to get interior drawers + runners from IKEA (read: cheap), but get carpenter to do carcass and door only, BUT I don't know if the carpenter would feel very insulted?! Is this even a valid concern?
-
Just saw your Hettich link. OMG how did you read my mind!?!!? *creepy telepathy* I just dropped by Blum today and the lady was trying to convince me that the $6800 blum kitchen promo was a good deal. I was like on the inside, wanted to blurt out, I only wanted a cheap IKEA kitchen! Haha! But she was saying that the modular MDF doors and carcass could be better workmanship than carpenters, even tougher than some plywood that carpenters use. Is that true? Since I was already sold on the modularity of IKEA, I wanted to retort hey it's just like IKEA but branded and more expensive! Haha *cheap(skate) thrill*
Do you know if Hettich is more pricy than Blum? I only have experience with Blum cause my current rental is using it (the low end version), hahahah.
-
Good reminder! I'm trying to do my cabinets all in modular units ala ikea 20/40/60/80cm, so hopefully easier to find ones that fit!
-
Okay, got it! I think I prefer your way of sourcing, that way QC is better!
-
Missed your comment about changing your gate this Saturday, exciting! Can't wait to see it.
And thanks for X-ing it all for me, quote did come in, yay! Can I ask you something — why do you have to buy the excel pull-out spice rack on your own? Couldn't your contractor do it all? I'm asking cause sourcing for individual items now too, wondering how much of a nitty gritty should I get myself into.
-
Unfortunately nope, my partner is more modern minimalist. Totally not into retro, hee. I like the occasional splash of nostalgia, but not too much. Dr Doctors also has the scissors gate which is super common now and the clover-shaped one.
-
You probably have already seen this, and also I've a sneaky feeling they're expensive, but these retro gates are gorgeous.
I think it's a side project of interior designer Eugene Yip.

danke! my kidneys also crossing themselves in anticipation, ha
-
Yeah I got 1! Hahahah *sobs* Another one is coming tomorrow, supposedly. Don't know if I should be kiasu and approach more. Will see what the second quote gives tomorrow cross your fingers for me!

That fridge looks sex-ay! The rose-gold matches your slightly-lilac walls & poofs - not that bad what!

Mine also belongs to the entry level ones!
By light indicator — I meant this one: (see attached image). The orange LED indicator next to temperature display. Maybe it lights up while pre-heating, turns off when temperature is reached.
