Things bought so far $1688 for king size at cellini $1500 Seats for HT room $199 Mini dining table for kitchen $2100 Most comfortable sofa we tried (from BHG), its so huge at 3.3mX2.7m. This is why i had to KIV my pool table, n see if i wanna lego the sofa to accomodate it. We liked the item, but the sales ppl there are abit......... LG gr-m562 fridge $840 LG 42" lcd $1548 from IT show Among other things, HT system n projector from KEC, Hobz hob n hood set. Still looking for rain shower set n water heater tank, pole system from ikea, nice n cheap curtains , coffee table (cant find one we like yet, so dun wanna buy for sake of buying), chip chip white toilet bowls, n kitchen sink, lights. Wishing for ps3, BD player, lots of blueray disks, a nice tube amp for stereo(china ones for a start also can), simple home automation (quoted 1k), and the list goes on n on n ooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

original floorplan proposed Our kitchen counter is pretty short as my wife to be needs some space for her stuff (Designer Florist), we also will have a mini cosy corner to have dinner in the kitchen just for the both of us. The big wall in the living room will be wallpapered, and 1 of the bedroom will be a dedicated HT room. The other bedroom will be a simple guest room which we may just leave it barely touch up first. Will have a walk in waldrobe for our MBR using ikea pole system. Rainshower for MBR Pretty simple n straightforward, we didnt have any theme initially. We also clueless abt how we want it to look like. But marc was very helpful n patient to help us thru this mental block. We just told him that we want a place that screams RELAC and comfortable, cuz i want a place that i can really just go home n wind down and forget abt work. N also when our frens come over for football matches or just hang out, we want a place where everyone can be at ease n enjoy n chill. Dun really want a designer home where its very nice, but i feel v tensed in it, or ppl feel like they have to behave well LOL

I just got my place last week at jurong west st25. Went to check on defects last week and found that there isnt much, except dirty toilet doors and 1 beroom door cant close properly. However, today i brought my future mom in'law down to take a look, and we spotted pretty bad cracks at common toilet tiles and kitchen. Went to report to HDB, and the officer in charge called me up to say they will hack all the tiles n replace them as the design is obsolete alr. He told me that i will be able to choose from his contractor the designs, however, i hope that its not the typical ugly HDB tiles man... In fact, i will try asking HDB wats the cost they will cover, and if its ok i go get my own tiles and they compensate my accordinlgy, if got any futher cost then i will top up. Really hope it can be done, what u guys think? Will update these few days with the items i bought n design. My ID is marc from linear space, whom im v happy to work with.

Ok, after looking at quotes from Allbest, gc n best tech, i think i shld go ahead with allbest. Quoted me for toshiba invertor system 4 $3488nett, 9k for 3 bedroom n 22k for living, compressor is 34k. 5yr warranty for compressor n INSTALLATION, 1 yr for parts. The salesman also show me the material they using n compared with k-flex and others. To my surprise, the other 2 class 0 tubes can be torn easily if u actually try to tear it, so it can be easily damaged during installation, and if the tear exposes the piping inside, then thats when u will get alot of sweating. However, the one they use it v durable n cant be torn easily at all, it also looks more pro and is class 0. They will also use a bigger drainage pipe to prevent choking. also they will provide 2 trips installation. GC is just expensive and they try v hard to ask u upgrade their materials used and warranty. Best tech is not bad, but i find the deal cant match all best. Not sure abt installation service tho

Thats why i leaning towards best tech who give standard 5yr for compressor n 1yr for parts, BUT 3yr for installation. Recently, i went to buy a LCD n the sales guy wanted to ask me to extend warrranty to 5yrs just in case any damage. I was thinking maybe get lah for peace of mind, but then my gf said something power man, "why must extend warranty? U mean the LCD u sell so fast n easy to spoil meh?" Not that she dun wanna extend, but the guy was like keep pyschoing me to extend, to the pt he keep saying when the thing spoil n all then jialat. So thats when she step in n said, u mean to tell me u sell things that spoil v easily? THANK GOD FOR HER, if not i kana con $300... Likewise for aircon, most ppl at gc will push us for the extended warranty, n they will calculate the charges of servicing if not under warranty, n it can be scary. But when i asked abt extending the parts warranty at Best tech, the salesman told me not necessary lah. More impt is the workmanship during installation, n for the amount of my usage, i wont really stress the aircon to give up. As long as i do the simple cleaning n all, should not be a problem. But then again, i still may pay for it... singaporean syndrome LOL OH YEAH, the very impt point is the ppl at best tech do 2 trips for installation, which is gd. Cuz they can do the piping n all first, then after u paint the hse then they come in to install the aircon. others do 1 trip onli, n say they will cover the aircon to prevent paint stains. Now, i do sound a best tech salesman

That one is standard, thats why gc will ask u to pay $$$ to extend the parts warranty to 5yr also. Did u ask abt the installation/workmanship warranty?

So far i went GC n best tech, n i also called hong tar. Best tech had the best pricing, and gave 3yr warranty on the workmanship, the other 2 was 5 for compressor and 1yr for parts n workmanship. I am planning to get the MHI invertor system 4. 9k 9k 9k 22k

Oh, bad experience ah... For me was different. I onli wanted a HD ready, since i wont be playing any HD content at all in the near future on this panel, n i got a HT room for that. Budget was onli 1500+ for a 37", since i onli use it to watch TV and football. So only LG and toshiba was within my range. I using LG at my parent home, and it has done very well for me the last few yrs, n my finacee hse one is toshiba which i find the pq to be lacking. So stick with LG. Fingers crossed

So which one u buy? Not very gd deals on the sammy, and sharp also considering the specs r lacking the others. I bought LG 5ms response time and 8000 contrast 2x hdmi 50hz, cuz it seems the best deal and lazy to walk more.

The prices of the sharp are not very attractive at the gain city booth, if u compare with wat the others are offering. I was gg to buy a sharp 37", but ended up with a 42" LG. Reason being better specs and cheaper price. Samsung prices were abit steeper than the others and Toshiba was ok but i prefer the LG. Sharp 37" was 1339, but no free gift and specs was at 6000 contrast. the 42" was at 1700+ LG 42" 1548, 8000 contrast, n other specs were better. panel wise both looked v ok I hope they will sell the display ps3 also... hehe

Im also open to bulk purchase. But not sure if have to be same model or not? Im looking to get the Misubishi HI invertor, as the features look very gd. Been to gain city and best tech alr, but i find best tech quote n pricing is better.

Hi all, i went to gain city just now n almost buy a fridge n washer n tv, n thats when i was told by the sales guy that they will be having a anniversary sale next mth. I went to recce at HN n Best n Courts n GC, n find that gain city prices is cheaper by pretty much. Most free gifts r same since its given by the agents n not the dept stores themselves. The price may not be as low as some small shops on a normal day, but u get 0% instalment without any admin fees, whereas smaller shop will have to charge u. Im looking forward to the sale n hope to get them cheaper. Also LCD will be cheaper too during the IT fair, n they also will adjust prices accordingly, or so they claim...

My experience was both gd n bad... Bad because they never get back to me at all since last december, but gd because at least i know that they are so irresponsible, if not engage alr also jialat

Most ppl who have bought close to the IT show have told me its worth waiting for. Cuz either they bought cheaper then, or they bought slightly before and then the price went down with additional freebies. True or not i also dunno, but 1 thing for sure is panel prices will onli drop further. Im glad i didnt rush in to buy end of last yr out of impulse... BTW, the freebies also need to beware hor. They can tell u free 21" or washing machine or HTIB for u to choose. But when u wanna redeem, it can be out of stock, n u end up either take someting else u dun want OR wait until forever. N in a bad case, they will say sorry its no longer in production alr or we wont be bringing in alr. Thats the thing abt freebies, so always check with the salesman. CUZ I ALMOST FELL PREY UNTIL I ASK ABT AVAILABILITY OF THE FREEBIES, then he admit

I will be confirming with Linear Space really soon, and they are pretty small company but i feel most comfortable with Marc's design and his style of work and character/personality. I find it very impt cuz if discussion stage i cant click with u, then wat more when confirm n work starts??? So as much as they r not radac registered, but i willing to take that risk n go along with the flow n feel. Since radac or bigger companies r not immune to problems araising, n there is no guarantee they will handle it better... Some of bad reports i've heard alr So for me, im still taking that risk, n i hope is more rewarding hehe

Radac or not is not an issue when things are ok. But it does serve its purpose in the event of dispute, however, they r not fool proof in a sense they will play god n settle everything for u. Find an ID that u can trust and u are comfortable with, then make sure u look at his workmanship also, then from there u decide. The rest is always a risk involved
