hi ckoonyin ~ ya the kitchen part i got to talk to him to find out more also. ya lor and also the permit. got to ask him cos just gotten the quote from him yesterday night. so maybe later give him a call and find out more. not sure if the quote for the cabinet includes the bar counter cabinet cos i got ask him to do a bar counter with cabinet for me ma. got to check. Ya cresto is the cheapest. in between got a few brand. one of it is LG. But no matter what brand u get still got scratches. so if id standard package quote u with free 10ft solid top or what got to check what brand they using. cresto is quite bad. like squareroom they using cresto lor. lolx.

hi blur blur ~ i pm u le. by the way, .maybe u guys can consider granite top since no matter what kind of solid top u be using...it is prone to scratches. even white colour solid top too. alot of id said white colour then u wont see the scratches so clearly but i doubt so cos my gf got her kitchen solid top in white and imagine she haven really move in just treat it as weekend house nia...and so far only do light cooking less than 5 times in the house. the kitchen top already got alot of scratches le. quite bad lor. think the id give her the cheapest solid top which is cresto brand. (suppose will turn yellowish after sometime. although can polish but less than mths later u see scratches again.) i have check even by getting higher end solid top like corraine brand also same. corraine top pricing i check so far is like $130 per ft which is almost the price for granite le. so in my view i feel that no very worth when i m paying something then in the end see so many scratches lor. but still up to individual lor. i just share share my info nia. hope is useful. cheers.

yoz everyone... just rcvd a quote from one of the contractor who actually help HDB to do the mock up for the HDB Habital 3/4/5 showflats. He was recommend by my boss who had his house done up by this contractor. Gone thru his quote and find it attractive. So just like to share with all of u. I had actually construct a very large platform for the whole of my living room except dining. At the same time had my kitchen top to be granite black galaxy. tot if the top load washing machine save electricity anot depends on how long it takes for a full load wash? i suppose for front load it will save more water compare to top load right? correct me if i m wrong cos i also wanna know the pros and cons so as to decide front or top load.

ckoonyin ~ if just house consultation plus auspicious date for an chuan, dong tu, initital dr opening I spent like $480 after $120 discount. The master quite good lor..at least he think of some logical and pratical way in avoiding the sha qi blah blah blah. u know hor one of my bedroom when i look out from the window i saw the shelter of the pathway. Hi, this is the guide from my FS master on how we should go abt doing for the initial door opening. So post here to share with all of u. Hope is useful. Open House Ritual 开屋仪式 Things to bring on Opening House Day: A Pineapple with leaves on top of the tip A small packet of Rice (uncooked) A bit of salt (half of those small packets) A packet of normal Chinese tea leaves A new plastic bowl (Red colour) Rice bowl size and easy to use to mix above items. A Huat Kueh 发糕 5 Red apples 5 Oranges 1 bunch of Bananas (best to select even numbers) A packet of sweets Instructions: Open your door at the auspicious hour of the day. Mix the small packet of rice with the Chinese tea leaves and salt at home and place it in a plastic bag. When you reached your new house, put all the mixed salt, rice and tea leaves in a new Red plastic bowl. As you open the door at the auspicious timing, take a handful of the mixed rice, salt, tea leaves and throw it into your house three times before you step in. As you throw the rice, you shout out "Huat ah, Huat ah, Huat ah" Remember, as you or your spouse steps in for the first time after throwing the rice 3 times from outside the main door (for female right leg enter first, for male left leg enter first) Then your partner can place the pineapple on the floor starting from the main door and start to roll the pineapple into the house and say "Ong Ong Lai Lai" “旺旺来来”Roll it all over the place and place it at a corner of the living room. Keep it there for a few days, until the pineapple has juice coming out, then you dispose it. As your partner roll the pineapple, you will continue to throw the remaining rice and tea leaves at all corners of your house. Open all the windows and leave the house (Don't forget to lock the door). Come back after an hour or two. (Purpose is to clear the stale air). If you don’t have the time, at least you open all the windows before you continue to throw the remaining rice in the house. Place the Huat Kueh, 5 Red apples, oranges, bananas and packet of sweets at the kitchen. Remember to bring home to eat when you leave. The Huat Kueh symbolizes “Huat”, the apples symbolize Peace and the sweets symbolize Sweet Future. You can leave the rice, salt, leaves on the floor; the renovation contractors will clear it when they start renovation.
