  1. Hi I thinking of getting this company to do simple renovation for my 2 toilet and kitchen, the uncle seem to be quite nice and not so pushy.. anyone work with them before? want to know if their workmanship and price reasonable?
  2. they may hav invite you as they are expecting some ppl might be dropping off later so you still get to "select" whatever it left at the nearer date, but of course if all the unit taken up before you den i dun think you will be call for, anyway Jan/Feb still at least 2month away which i believe you should keep you finger cross, get the resales instead which i am aiming now.
  3. i just heard from my fren who was marriage and bought a hse in sengkang 5 yrs ago, he also got a qn number of 8xxx for this balloting make me wonder how the system really works? 1st timer? 2nd timer only 1000 applicant difference only. and i also know 1 couple who only looking at 2 of the Executive M for this balloting even through their chance of getting any of the flat available quite high at qn 150, likely they will give up if they are not able to get this flat.. mamy ppl will wish to be in his shoes
  4. see MP also no use la, actually when i saw the total no. of applicant i already sian 1/2, i can't imagine my luck will be that goods to be within the 600. i angry not because i dun get the chance to select but i angry why my no so high... 7000+++ if my no are 3500 or below i still can accept it. this is so called first timer piority and i can't believe that soo many of them before my no are all first timer.. i know one of them who bought flat with mother before got less than 150 qn this time.. and shouldn't all applicant receive email to inform them about the result released as well? i didn't receive..
  5. stupid policy.. my suck up qn 7xxx. am i first timer? yes am i pure singaporean? yes did i do national service?yes
  6. i think most ppl aiming for newer town at punggol or sk,
  7. there are few lighting company at Jln Besar or Balestier which can give good product and reasonable price, service wise still acceptable. Chan Huat (balestier 2nd floor), 168 Trading are 2 company which carry lot of light in their showroom, they re one of the main dealer who get the light directly from overseas and lot of smaller showroom are getting the lighting from them as well, that's why you can see most of them carry the same design.
  8. For item 1, the PLC lamp need a separate ballast to work but ELC (item 2) come with built in ballast, which one better? so far both are equally good in lifespan (15000hrs buring hour)if i can remember correctly, except the price for the ELC are slightly higher than PLC, but do take note that ELC downlight are not as common in market, you have to make sure that the lamp itself (minus the ballast part) are long enough to cover the whole downlight glass if not you will have dark shadow due to the ballast.(ELC ballast take up almost half the length of the lamp)
  9. ya lor, now see this Sept balloting i also give up, price soo ex and chance so low.. 8000+ fighting for 900+ unit??? since when getting house in Singapore are soo difficult for normal worker like us
  10. LED lamp does not come with warmwhite colour, their closest to warm are yellow or amber. there are led lamp with different degee (narrow beam) in the market but the intensity are not better than using halogen light.
  11. due to the size and shape for the PLC downlight (or layman term are energy saving lamp), 4.5 inches are quite a comfortable depth for your ceiling. ans your few qns first Spot light - they are those adjustable light which use to shine on particular object eg: picture or some wall, most spot light can only use halogen lamp due to the design of the light fitting. CF light - circular fluorescent lamp (those commonly use type of lamp in HDB which come with 22W/32W or 40W downlight fluorescent - similar as PLC downlight but just another term layman use to call them halogen light - these are lamp itself There are few type of lamp available for household PLC lamp (energy saving lamp 10W/13W/18W or 26W) commonly use for downlight or wall light PLL lamp (energy saving lamp 7W/9W/11W/18W/24W/36W/55W)mostly for ceiling or wall light CFL lamp (those 22W/32W or 40W) which normally install in those "hamburger" light Halogen lamp (market sell those 12v 20W/35W or 50W)mostly ppl install for spot light fitting or dining room light Incandescent lamp (dun recommend to you as life span are only about 1000hrs) LED (long life span but expensive and not many light fitting come with these lamp. of course there are other lamp available but not for household. There are lot of lighting pic provided by the bro and sis here at other section of this forum under The light storey. My recommendation are with the increase of PUB bill, try to go for PLC or LED if possible, avoid halogen lamp if possible.
  12. i am cursing now as i had rejected a chance last april to select the flat at JW cause my mum was complaining to far for her to go next time.... now looking at the situation look like i am going to get married and stay in family hse until situation are better which look long long long ...
  13. if you ready carefully, i think a lot ppl complaint about this company before. what is the brand for your ballast and lamp?
  14. yes you re rite, TLD are the T8 fluorescent lamp, All T5 lamp need HF electronic ballast which you can save on starter and capacitor, they are also more energy effiency. EBE ballast are the lowest/cheapest for HF ballast, from my understanding from some expert before, they re not very wide use in local project (unless low budget project)because they are limited to few switch on per day,
  15. Atco / philip or Osram are some better ballast, the taiwan model nvr heard before, better check if got PSB approved sticker if they supply with that
  16. thanks yangguo i second also to nominate you as moderater cause you are willing to help others

  18. Does the new HDB rules really helps to reduce the unwanted applicant? doesn't really think so look at the new woodland BTO the first week applicant are quite slow but toward the end we got more than 1 flat x 3 applicant,
  19. that 's one of the reason i decided not to pick any of this flat cos before my selection i had visit the location floor by floor for most of the block and discover many ppl like to put their belonging outside the house i also saw the savannah park as well, i think i will not want to stay with these type of neighbour especially where the coridor are already so small and narrow compare to other area.
