  1. I didnt like the bifold doors... gives me the feeling that the lock gives way easily. So we opted for this kind of door after seeing the 'locking' mechanism... just a up/downwards pull.
  2. Went up and took pics... and was hit by the overpowering smell of... fresh varnishing !! It was so much that when we set eyes onto the platform from the main door, we started coughing and our eyes were stinging. *ouch ouch* So we took pics chop chops and ran off. Didnt get to see and feel the platform as the varnishing is not dry yet and the smell is .... Living balcony platform: MBR - phew, this has the worst smell. Windows closed, toilet door closed, room door also closed. Took pic from door and same thing, scrambled off. Onwards towards the kitchen, introducing my common toilet... door. It's something like a bifold door, but its not. If you guys know or have friends/relatives who are involved in the recent MUP or LUP @ AMK Ave 8/10, those 41x series, you would have seen them if the owners went ahead with the common toilet upgrade done by hdb. It does not have any tracks, and when the door is open, both the folded sides will be stuck together via a magnet point at the top and bottom on the door (dunno if the AMK ones have this magnet contacts or not). But anyway, the handle on the inside is the lever kind, to close, turn the handle down. To open, turn it back up. The inside of common toilet - very dusty and dirty still. And very cramp. Kitchen pics - with granite top up.
  3. I supposed if the prev owner is not so 'honest' enough to pass over at least 1 letterbox key, the new owners have the decision to change the whole lock entirely. At least mine passed me 1 key in case those reno permit, etc are mailed to the new adds. The receipts from Ideal Hse also were sent to the new hse. And anyway, for my case since they didnt bother to chg the address for 2 mths after handover date, and being served with legal documents by HDB for them (yeah, HDB screened for last known address in late may and add not updated), i had adopted the attitude of 'bo-chap-ness'. All their mails which i get hold of first will be striked off and returned to sender via postboxes.
  4. Not wooden ones... shd be metal ones... My hubby and his friend was there to help carry. I only point on top and say, i want that one, then they go and search and put in cart. So i didnt really feel the material. Because the metal ones were extendable, so i got them instead of the wood ones... Got them, in black. Not sure if want to let Steven absord or not lor... i love that tap. Even though knowing it can nv fit. It is a waste to keep, but still... :~ Storage. Paiseh, not online frequently liaoz. Wah... better ensure its cut properly. Pics tomolo.
  5. Come come, let me ka-chiao them...
  6. Earlier on Thu, we had met Steven to let him know where and which part which needed rectification... like the wrongfully painted walls (2 times still paint wrong, left out one wall for 2nd time). We also saw the granite sink is up for both island and kitchen top. The black color adds a contrasting feel to the top lighter and the bottom browns. But we asked Steven to re-do the sealent @ the sink area. His worker used the clear sealent which ends up looking like grey (to me). It looks funny with the black top and black sink then with grey/clear sealent in the middle? He will get his workers to chg it. Also pointed some stuff which require his chaps to rectify like the laminates (sharp ends at bottom when you swipe your hand over it), and my island has a slight misalignment at the top drawers. Although it can only be seen when you squat down and peer at it, Steven said nvm, let the ppl dilemma over it first. Coz to me, if cannot rectify, so be it. Not that great of a boo-boo since when does ppl squat at that area to see? There are some others, but they are the usual touch-ups required after a reno, so no need to post them out. Sat was the day for installing the curtain rods (we bought ikea ones since they look all right), mirrors, 1 of the grundel 80cm rod, towel ring, toilet paper holder, etc etc. Got a horror finding though. My canon tap cannot be used! After it is installed, there is no space to turn because the distance from the wall to the tap hole is very short! No choice, rushed out to buy one more tap from the neighbourhood shops (luckily there are a few around the area) and also luckily, found something that is similiar to the common bathrm tap (twist to the side for water supply). On the way, I was thinking thinking, was it Steven's guys who measured the sink wrongly when they were doing the support? Because the hole size had been done, so i have to get another tap... Msged Steven and he called back to explain that because the sink has an unfinished side (at the back), so it means the sink has to be mounted against the wall, and thus we cant get such a 'long' tap. Well, no one discovered it because that tap was not mounted as early as the common toilet's one, so no one knows till y'day. If we had known earlier, we whd have gone for an exchange... but too late... However, Steven msged again saying his guys shd have highlighted this earlier by knowing they have to take in consideration of the tap length... so he said he'll absorb the canon tap price... But i still like the cannon tap leh, and it's not long enough for common toilet sink... so, haiz... guess i'll keep it for in-law's place 2 yrs down. Yeah, they ganna sers, and we have another reno to take care 2 yrs down the road. In my sotong-ness, forgot to bring my digicam again. Will take on Tues after HH did the varnishing of the parquet.
  7. yeah yeah, we will... perhaps in 1-2 mths time. not in a hurry.
  8. Pm-ed you liao. Really ah... till next mth?
  9. I'm sure my hse got space to spare. :notti:
  10. Gong xi gong xi! Pics of hacking, etc...
  11. I spotted some pop-ups also when i went to mine this morning. The varnishing will be done next Tues. Hopefully they do a gd job for both of us. Went to Ikea and bought the gruntal rail, some misc stuff like towel ring, mirrors, and the curtain rods. Installation for these stuff (in addition which i had bought earlier) will be done this Sat. Had met w Steven this am and highlight those 'defects' to him... he will get them done up also. They also manage to find some marble pieces that looks like the existing ones we have. Because the board behind is gysum material, they have to use those glue to stick them instead of cement. Ended up they have 'spots' of round stuff seen visibly where they use the glue. Quite cute leh. Like paw prints.
  12. Not yet. they called up today to say my ID asked them to go next wk. lots? When had they varnish yours?
  13. I support what BunBun said. Paid comm on 1st appt for my case too. I think it's hw that company works. Kris, i had not msged the wife agt coz i wasnt sure abt the situation. No worries on tt. Perhaps your hubby can tell the husband agt tt you guys feel odd abt the whole situation, why delay and delay? And you guys feel uncomfy abt it.
  14. Saw your sms. =) Glad it's settled. Che, top up 1k niah. Thot more than tt. They can lah. With the resale mkt booming tt time. Sala... not me. It's Kris. =)
  15. I can still go like this still.
  16. Final inspection my hubby wasnt around. I was alone tt time, i think. I didnt really do much check coz we tore down most of the things. The agt told us (the wife) tt your seller's agt and they (e couple) are colleagues. And that the seller is asking a high price for COV, so the couple and the seller's agt paid some COV in order to top up the amt requested by the seller. I am not sure if you know or not wor. I was told of this after i msg the wife to waive the comm (or was it the gst of the comm amt). Where i'm coming from is this, if the couple and the seller's agt are colleagues, why can't they talk internally w/o getting the buyer involved on all these unnecessary stuff? Seller is that difficult mah? When you guys went down to view the unit, can you all sense this outta him? Got msg the couple (normally i dealt w the wife), how come like this mah? Why are you guys as buyers have to nego with the seller on time n suff like these? Scared to deal w seller? What kind of nonsense is this? Let me know when they reply... i'll talk to the wife if nec.
  17. Think can move in liao. Nvm even though no furniture lah. Got place and save on rental.
  18. We havent start to really look for sofa coz not in a hurry. Hee hee... but so far, yah. Only modular ones. Wonder how much she spent on hers. Can... i got lots of time to buy things. Customary @ end of next yr. Muah haha! We didnt want to over stretch budgets coz both sides of families lots of relatives. Yawnz.
  19. Can understand the lack of space for sofa... coz i'm feeling it now. If no choice, have to go for 2 seaters, and even then, cannot be too plush else it looks fat and takes up space.
  20. Sounds not bad. I just realised i have a prob w sofa too. Because the platform was longer, my area for sofa had shrunk. Sigh. Think max 2 seater only. And if need more couches, need to get a separate 2 seaters.
  21. Goodness, i nv saw the tv pt was there. They are really ....
  22. Huh? Hw come cannot hack leh? Babytan, Mine also like that. Use bo flush. I went there just now, saw flies lor. I msged ID, i didnt know i have to flush the toilet after them.
  23. Thanks. No lah. It's frosted. Think its e angle i took the pic... looks like cleasr glass. No time, no $. So what kind of job are u looking for?
