  1. I saw! But hor... yours is resale, would be really amazing if the entire reno is under 20k. Mine is BTO but I already found it quite difficult Hope you can do it!
  2. Hahaha. I'm also buying a lot of things from TB, won't say I have expensive taste lah. But because sanitary ware is something that comes into contact with water everyday and showers are supposed to be very enjoyable, I spent more on them. Reno starting next month is very soon! Saw your blog, resale projects are a lot more exciting all the best!
  3. Thanks! Reno budget excluding furniture is around 20k. Initial quotation signed was below 20k but we've made some changes since. Hopefully the VO isn't too scary!
  4. Really unique tblog because you're offering insights after years of real life usage and I love how your living area looks. The view from Hougang Capeview is also amazing! So jealous
  5. Home Furnishing and Appliances - Part 3 Ordered some of my sanitary fittings online a few days ago, from xtwostore. My ID needs them to arrive by 1 July, hopefully shipping will go smoothly. Even with shipping fees and taxes considered, buying these items online is much cheaper than buying them locally. 6 items cost me $700 SGD after shipping but before GST. No warranty here of course, but that's a risk to take for cheaper things I think people normally order Hansgrohe stuff from xtwostore, insani24 or amazon.de. I found xtwostore to be easier to navigate, have cheaper prices and a more comprehensive selection. MBR bathroom shower set - Hansgrohe Croma Select E Multi EcoSmart shower set 0.65m https://www.xtwostore.com/hansgrohe-croma-select-e-multi-ecosmart-shower-set-0-65-m-white-chrome.html Chose the EcoSmart version cos I love to take long showers and I'm hoping it helps me to save some water LOL. In the end I decided no rain shower for me cos our BTO toilet height is so low with the box up and I feel sad I won't be able to utilize a rain shower fully by having it at maximum height MBR bathroom shower mixer - Hansgrohe Logis single-lever shower mixer https://www.xtwostore.com/hansgrohe-logis-single-lever-shower-mixer.html MBR bathroom basin mixer - Hansgrohe Logis 190 single-lever basin mixer https://www.xtwostore.com/hansgrohe-logis-single-lever-basin-mixer-190-without-waste-with-chrome.html Needed a taller tap for a countertop basin, saw from Hansgrohe website that the 190 is recommended Common bathroom shower set - Hansgrohe Crometta 100 Vario EcoSmart shower set 0.65m https://www.xtwostore.com/hansgrohe-crometta-100-vario-ecosmart-shower-set-0-65-m-white-chrome.html Common bathroom shower mixer - Hansgrohe Focus single-lever shower mixer https://www.xtwostore.com/hansgrohe-focus-e-single-lever-ahower-mixer-dn15-for-exposed-fitting.html Common bathroom basin mixer - Hansgrohe Focus 100 single-lever basin mixer LowFlow 3.5l / min https://www.xtwostore.com/hansgrohe-focus-single-lever-basin-mixer-100-lowflow-3-5-l-min-without-waste.html 3.5l/min is about the same as the Singapore '2 tick' version for water efficiency rating. The normal version is 5l/min which is 1 tick. Intending to have either a wall-mounted or pedestal basin in the common bathroom, so a normal height mixer should be tall enough. Still shopping around for the basins and WC, which I will be buying locally cos it's too heavy and expensive to ship from overseas
  6. Checked out my place today, glad to see that things look to be progressing ok. Didn't spot any mistakes (yet). Gas piping and gas heater installed, electrician also changed the single power socket to a double one Aircon trunking has been done up. The workmanship looks neat and I'm really happy with my aircon contractor. My ID oversaw the installation for me and praised them for being good and professional too Kitchen cabinet bases for my tiny kitchen are in progress, I couldn't fit L shaped cabinets because of where I have to put the sink at really worried about my lack of countertop space Both toilets' shower feature walls have been overlaid! The HDB tiles weren't too bad actually, but I really wanted to do something different. Since it didn't cost too much to overlay this small area, I chose to go ahead with it This is the MBR toilet, looks like the workers have started on the floor tiles overlay too. Chose to overlay both toilet floors because I thought the HDB tiles were too small and dark. My neighbours also commented that they're really slippery when wet so I thought I'd overlay with bigger, brighter, non-slip tiles. Laying them diagonally because that's supposed to help to make the space look bigger! When your place is as small as mine, you have to try everything Met up with the curtains guy and was happy with the price quoted! Probably will get my curtains from him. That's all for now, I think I'll visit again on this weekend
  7. Wow, very nice work of your ID to come up with a mood board and 4 3D drawings good luck with your reno!
  8. Reno works have started on Monday! I haven't managed to visit the place yet, will drop by later today to check on the progress. Gas piping, aircon trunking installation are done. Masonry works are ongoing. Couldn't take off from work to supervise aircon trunking installation so my ID coordinated for me. A curtains guy will also be coming down later to take measurements for curtains/blinds quotation. Here are my 3D drawings I don't have much carpentry, so I only got 2 drawings. My paint and laminates selection have all changed since I posted about them :x but kinda lazy to write about the final selection, haha Kitchen MBR (there will be slight changes to the wardrobe design. Decided to do a cut out to use as a bedside table)
  9. I got most of my lights and kitchen stainless steel sink from Taobao too! Except ceiling lamps that I got from Philips. In fact, I think we bought our track lights from the same seller! But **** I realized I didn't buy the 'hardened and thickened' version of the tracks, just the thickened one. I really hope they don't bend... Looks like you have some assembling to do in the near future
  10. Thanks for being so helpful! They're reallyyyy pretty tiles. Love the muted, neutral colors
  11. Looking forward to see how you integrate appliances in your home with Google Home!
  12. I loveee your toilet tiles! Especially the wall tiles (both the grey and beige). Mind sharing where you got them from and what price range were they in? Thanks!
  13. Home Furnishing and Appliances - Part 2 While waiting for the defects to be fixed (14 working days), I've been buying a few more items for the house, mostly lights and fans. Ordered some items from TB and also went to Tampoi, JB to get the fans since everyone says it's much cheaper there. Reno should start on 13 June, hopefully everything goes ok Kitchen sink and tap https://world.tmall.com/item/13098619426.htm?skuId=3138815873740 While looking for SS sinks, it's important to look for T304 stainless steel that are 16/18 gauge steel. I also prefer slightly rounded edges for easier cleaning. With that in mind, I decided on this single bowl sink from Taobao. I think the size is just right for my tiny kitchen Condiment pull out rack https://world.taobao.com/item/531880220797.htm Got this for the space between the built in oven and the service yard wall Gas Heater http://macro.sg/?portfolio=ma-10fe Decided to go with gas heater because for our living habits, we would prefer not to have to remember to switch on the storage heater before showering and we use a lot of hot water so gas might be more cost saving Common toilet grab bar and toilet roll holder http://item.rakuten.co.jp/maido-diy/yhbs201fln/ TOTO accessories from Japan. Love the minimalist look of these! Bedroom ceiling lights http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/cpindex.pl?scy=CZ&slg=EN&ctn=3182231P5 Philips SceneSwitch 20W, 2700K - 6500K Toilet ceiling lights http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/cpindex.pl?scy=IN&slg=EN&ctn=333623166 Philips 16W, 6500K Toilet T5 lights http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/cpindex.pl?scy=TR&slg=EN&ctn=310913166 Philips Linea 3000K. Wanted a warmer light option for the toilets in addition to the bright white ceiling lamp Dining area pendant light https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=39534472108&toSite=main Walkway lights https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=527375967252&toSite=main For the small area outside the bedrooms and at the entrance Kitchen track lights https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=537751153901&toSite=main 10W. Got tunable ones for the kitchen since I won't be having any other lights and I wanted the option of both warm and white light Living room/MBR track lights https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=12541826247&toSite=main 7W, warm light. These will be for the wardrobe area in MBR and console area in the living room Living room ceiling fan with light http://acornceilingfan.com/product/ac-308-limited-edition 52 inch DC fan with 18W lightkit. Got the Malaysia version of this fan so the colour is slightly different, in a lighter oak colour which I prefer wanted the Aeratron fan but the lightkit is only 6W, which is way too dim for the living room Kitchen/dining area ceiling fans http://www.nsb.com.my/phone/vento-fino2.html Vento Fino 2. Got these from Tampoi at a much cheaper price than SG. Chose the oak + chrome combination
  14. Haven't updated in awhile because nothing's been happening. But!! All that changed on Thursday! I. GOT. MY. KEYS! Visited the place immediately and whoaaaa... can't deny that I was a bit surprised by how small it is. Oh well. I opted out of everything except the flooring. Living Room: Bedrooms: Kitchen: Bathrooms: View from MBR : I'm still checking for defects, should be rectified earliest by end May. Can't wait for reno to begin!
  15. Your place looks great!! Love how the living room furniture has been placed, very atypical of HDB flats. Also love the colour of your kitchen laminates. Did you choose the same laminates for your kitchen cabinets, vanity cabinet and wardrobe?
  16. Hm don't have the exact numbers yet cos haven't settled on the tile I want.. but I think $4+ ones still ok. There were $14 per sqft tiles! Faint Considered buying from taobao too... but... idk. A bold move for sure
  17. Ohhh you have a wardrobe like that, nice. DXO 1337 is the fabric feel laminate right? Thanks for the pic
  18. Ah I see. Thanks! Looking forward to more pics

  20. Those plain hexagon tiles were the cheapest I could find already huh still got IDs quote $2 tiles ah... $2 cannot get anything much. Minimum I saw was mostly $3 and above. My ID quoted me for $3.20 so I'll need to top up too!
  21. Bounded in to take a look at your wardrobes!! Beautiful home. And congrats on moving in! Is that DXO 1338D used for your MBR wardrobe? Where did you use 1337D?
  22. Hahah I had to learn where to shop for these things to! Because I didn't just want to walk into a store like Courts and accept whatever price they give me, so have to do research lor Yeah I bought LG fridge, washing machine, dvd player, TV etc for my current place. Really bad experience... especially with the small ones like you said. Hoe Kee you should go to the one at Tanjong Katong complex, heard the service there is much better than the other branches. That's the one I went ot. I'm also considering between hexagon tiles and marble-look tiles in the bathroom (see latest post)... hmm not sure if they will go out of style cos I'm not a pro at design trends but I like the way they look and I think they're a nice change from subway tiles. So... definitely considering them.
  23. Today was the first 'design' meeting I had with ID A! I picked out my paint colors, laminates and vinyl design today. ID A will use my selection for the first draft of 3D drawings. I have nooooo idea how it will turn out both excited and afraid to find out. We also looked at tiles but I'm even more confused by what I want after visiting Hafary so ID A suggested we decide on that after I get my keys. Also... I never knew there could be so many shades of white. I honestly got a little cross-eyed looking at all the shades of paint... Paint Colours Living Room Master Bedroom Common Bedroom Laminates Wardrobes - Gloss white with fabric-texture laminates Kitchen cabinets/shoe cabinet - mostly white with light wood Vanity cabinet still TBC because I couldn't decide Vinyl Raised platform Tiles Kitchen backsplash - I wanted marble-look subway tiles, but the only reasonably priced ones were these. I like the look but I'm afraid the grout lines will look weird, even if it's white grout. What do you guys think? Another option is the more typical plain white subway tiles Bathroom accent wall - this is for the wall with the shower head. Couldn't decide between white/grey hexagon tiles and marble-look long tiles. Marble-look hexagon tiles were way too expensive 3D should be ready in 2 weeks, I hope there won't be too many revisions ><
  24. I'm looking to get that fan from Tampoi too! And aw, you changed from the Hitachi 395L fridge to this Samsung one. I got the Hitachi one... although it's mostly because it comes in white
