  1. If I think about it, My parents dates are in the 0x range (05th and 09th) Me and my wife are in the 1x range (14th and 17th) The kids are in the 2x range (28th, 24th and 24th) Mind you, as they say, if you look hard enough you can find patterns in anything . Thanks again all. Mother and baby probably home tomorrow. I have 1 month Paternity and my wife has the 4 months maternity leave RB Oops, I wish. I have only 1 week paternity, not 1 month .
  2. The two youngest were born on the same day (24th) although on different months. Makes it easier for me, being one of those guys who is terrible with dates, to remember . RB
  3. Of course. Be glad I didn't video the birth and put it up on Youtube for all to share . Came home to get some stuff, catch a little sleep and collect the kids so why not . Had to send the pics to my family in the UK as well. Rb
  4. Thanks everyone. We have finally, after much err..... 'debate', settled on Jonathan. It is good here, good in the UK. I am not sure my FiL/MiL will be so happy as all three kids have a 'th' in the name (Nathaniel, Ethan and now Jonathan). Will be popping back to the hospital in a minute with the other kids to see their mother. I came home to get a little sleep while my wife rested in hospital. RB
  5. Just a quick update. Early this morning we made a trip to KKH and a couple of hours later this chap popped out to say hello. Both mummy and baby and even daddy are doing well. More updates to come later. Hope everyone else has a good a day as us. RB
  6. Surely that would depend on how large the bumps are . Most of the UK posters listed row 2 and 3 as curvacious or large from the linked image. RB
  7. hi cubeball, the unit is eol and is being replaced like the onkyo 608. I heard it.was going for between 700 and 800 at adelphy but that was a couple of months ago. they also sell in courts megastore where I got.mine but were quite a bit more expensive. the preouts really are a great addition if you may upgrade later. posted from my phone so please.excuse.the typos.
  8. Yes I prefer when people are as when you know they are being so that you can trust they are not prettying up things to save face. I understand the idea of face and it is not a bad one but I would rather just get to the point and know where I stand and what my options are so I can make an accurate choice rather than a choice based on face saving words. i know you will be pretty direct by your comment on the photo of me in the blog . It is good to know so I thank you for it. Oh mama. Yes I understand and to be honest, my wifes mother is the same to her. We never hear any supportive praises of comments from her. If we hear a neutral comment then that usually means she is happy and agrees. Coming from a very supportive family I find it hard to understand how a parent would behave like that to their child. I put it down, as you said, to cultural differences and leave it alone. There is nothing stupid about it. It is combination of upbringing and environment that makes us what we are and we just have to learn that we do have the power to change it. I had the power and I am very sure you have the power locked in there and I am sure with your hubbys support you will find it. Just take an hour to see what you have done and what you have achieved with your life and I am sure you already know that it is a lot more than a large number of people could dream of. Really sit there and think about it honestly. I used to think my life was pretty boring and I had not done very much with my life until I really thought about it and looked around at my friends and what they had done and although I have made some bad choices along the way as well as good ones, I have actually had a pretty good time so far. I never dreamed 6 years ago I would be living here for a start. What it is sometimes hard to realise that everyone has inner defects....We all hide them from each other and to an extent they are what make us what and who we are. If you didn't have any defects you may not be the friendly, charismatic, animal loving, fun person you are today but may be a very self absorbed nasty cow . I hope I didn't give that impression as that is not what I intended. I know you are not deliberately saying what you do when you get a compliment in order to get more. What I was saying is that if compliments make you feel uneasy then the best way to stop the 'giving food face' lovefest is to say thank you and change the subject as denial usually results in a ping pong match back and forth until everyone has worn out all their nails typing and the spectators have collapsed with neckache I guess the point is that you do not have to agree with it but just accept that this is what others think. Accept their opinion and move on . Accept the view, put it in a box, lock it away and move on. Don't analyse it, don't think about it anytime later. My best mate back in the UK has the same sort of thoughts as you although he is not as pretty . He is also getting married this year. He has done ok and he is happy with life and he just gets on with things now. The strange thing is that he has let my previous girlfriends know that he tended to measure himself up against me and was always say doing that as I was so confident and had all this adventure. The truth is that most of the time I was flying by the seat of my pants, not knowing where I was going and worried about what would happen when I got there. I was also a ball of worry in our teens and twenties but he just couldn't see it. Of course not. Every action has a reaction though even if you are not aware of it . If I point it out it certainly does not mean I believe you are doing it on purpose. "Now I am a father I see myself in my childrens eyes. As they grow I can only hope they continue to see me with the same love, trust and respect that they do now. - RimBlock I hold you in very high regard as I do your husband and a number of others here. Nothing I say is intended to hurt and I sincerely apologise if it has / does. Nuts, I was enjoying those . Well you know how to reach me if you fancy a coffee and a chat and hubby is happy enough to let you go. Right so HiFi guy, home cinema guy, computer guy, photography guy, kickboxing (more like boxing) guy, fitness trainer guy, banking guy, psychiatrist guy, (whisper) high heel appreciating guy (/whisper), what is next . Maybe guy....... nah tried that.... that is one guy I am certainly not good at being. I think my son can paint better than me and he is 3 . Ok, here comes the midnight bell.... ding ding. Far too late for me. Off to bed. G'night all. Happy dreams of big apartments and successful renovations. RB
  9. Having done Karate for a while, touched on Judo and Jujitsu I must say I much prefer the Kick Boxing although to be honest it is mainly boxing with me. The difference to me is the full contact. Not just throwing a punch at air or throwing and pulling back for semi-contact but connecting full force. My hands had quite a shock after a evening on the heavy bag and you soon learn to be more accurate. I tend to do bag work mainly now as I tend not to heal quite so fast anymore and have enough aches and pains. I also love the way that, like Kung Fu, it can be a dance where the momentum of one move can flow in to another. I enjoy it but I think this break from it has been good and I look forward to getting back in to it. I also need to improve my footwork so maybe a few dancing lessons...... I have been thinking about salsa for a while..... . RB
  10. Welcome in. I am still waiting for the mentioned 3Ds . I see you have a top floor unit. We are also on the top floor and some of the beams are truly terrible. i don't think there is a straight line over 12" in the apartment . We also had a leak in the ceiling on moving in. There was a dark stain with broken plaster. When we replastered, a damp patch came back every time it rained. The town council were pretty good (it is them and not HDB who deal with the roof) and they came and fixed the problem. No more leaks seen since. RB
  11. Calling all gym people. If anyone is a member at Pure Fitness Suntec and would like company then let me know. I am looking to go back in the next month or so and it is a bit more fun with company. I am sort of interested in the Tampines Fitness First as well but need my contract to expire and it probably has quite a bit to go. I also suspect there will be no punch bags at Fitness First. Anyway, get in touch if interested. RB
  12. Well we have our washing out in front of our windows and I would imagine the thought of ending up with a pair of my underwear on their head like an unwelcome balaclava after crawling through that death trap of my wife devising would put off most thieves. Now for those of you screaming internally from that imagery....... Here is a cute puppy.... RB
  13. Maybe ladies bothered by workmen should stuff a great big pair of long socks down the front of a pair fo tight fitting jeans they wear whilst around the workmen and then have the wives stare at the workers . See how quickly they finish and leave . RB
  14. The are a perfect complementary height for each other . I really do not know to be honest but I discounted because of that tricky Mae trying to fool us by standing in between. RB
  15. We have the same and I very much agree that is looks great. It is our handrail we hate . RB
  16. Haha, my services are available for rent at a small fee, or nice dinner, or a good movie, or a couple of drinks, or free for a friend . Elys Hubby is more than able to keep those workers in line. It is just difficult with work commitments . RB
  17. Ahh yes it is working now. We had those on our old windows and they were very effective. RB
  18. Thanks Kobelala. It can get a bit immersive sometimes, especially with the big screen down. I just have to tidy the cables behind the speakers now. The shot is carefully angled. Don't look behind the table or you will see all the loops of spare cable which is not quite so tidy . RB
  19. I often read another website (or two) which are populated by mainly British guys to help relate to my culture, the fact that they also sometimes post pictures of hot babes has nothing at all to do with it at all. One interesting thread they had was about body types guys prefer in women and the answers were surprising, well to me anyway. This got me thinking as different cultures also look at things differently. To this end, I post the question to all you gentlemen out there in Singaporeland..... What bodyshape are you most attracted too. To aid you in this you can view the picture linked to below (only click on the link if you have no problems looking at a montage of ladies with different bodyshapes. The link goes to my own photobucket account and the ladies are in either normal clothes or swimming costumes (certainly no worse than that). It is up to you to decide if it is suitable to view when your SO is around but it is not 'adult' in any way. I have linked it rather than pasting it in to help protect those of a nervous disposition. Reference bodytype pic here. To aid choice there are 4 categories. 1. Skinny: I like my girl catwalk slender. 2. Athletic: Firm, toned and able to bend spoons with her thighs. 3. Curvy: Like a soft desert vista with bumps in all the right places. 4. Larger: Cute and cuddly, someone to hug and never let go of. 5. Looks not important: Some previous girlfriend removed my man bits and I am scared of having an opinion. You can PM me your vote if your beautiful perfectly figured lady also just happens to read here all results will be anonymous . Ok, here is the results for the poll on the UK site. Skinny:179 Athletic: 217 Curvy: 695 Large: 24 This clearly shows a preference to the larger sizes than the slimmer ones dispite what the UK media will have you believe. All joking aside, I think it is an interesting question as I really have no idea what shape is a preference over here. For those people who think it is terrible to objectify women this way who do not come under option 5 above.... there is no denying that physical appearance plays a bit part in attraction but it is only part of the package. I whole heartily agree that there are many beautiful people of all sizes out there. And for the rest of the ladies out there..... I have no objection to you objectifying us men with a poll of your own. Come on, be naughty and lower yourselves to our level . This is intended to be just a bit of fun and no offence is intended. I sincerely hope it is taken as only that which is why I have put it here rather than as a separate thread. Enjoy. RB
  20. PM people your number and they can add you if they do not already have it in their contacts. Don't PM your number to anyone you don't want to talk to. We will then all know who you shun . In fact I am going to amend my sig to that effect (the people should PM for my whatsapp id not the shun part ). Does anyone actually read peoples sigs still ??. I had them turned off for a while as people had a habit of listing every single item they had ever bought for their reno including the door jams but that seems to have stopped so I turned them back on again . RB
  21. There is something about them that does stand out as husband and wife although I cannot put my finder on what it is, and I mean that in a good way . It is not just the matching white T-shirts . We didn't take one from our drinks. It was..... err..... too dark, yes, that was it . RB
  22. Hmm, what sort of windows are affected. Sliding windows can possibly be pulled off the track but we have an edging strip which would have to be removed first. Our sliding windows also lock together on the inside with the circular locks. The grills with pin locks can be forced if there is enough movement available and you have sufficient force (ie. a crowbar). Considering the construction of the HDB alu windows, you could probably get through them pretty fast if you wanted too, just depends on how much damage you want to commit, how much noise you are willing to make and how fast you need to be. The security is in the grills and to be sure you really should have wrought iron on the corridor facing side with a decent lock rather than the cheap pin locks. To stop sliding windows you could use a door hook between the window frame panel and the wall and make sure the edging strip on the outside is high enough to prevent the windows being lifted and cannot be easily removed. Without seeing the technique though it is hard to suggest ways to defend against it. If someone wants to PM me the details then I may be able to offer better suggestions. RB
