  1. Yes from Johnson, 4ft @ $600/-, solid ply wood.
  2. Children's room, bed frames, mattress, curtain are all new and selected by my elder daughter. She loves the flower lamp from Ikea, didn't take too much time to mount it on the wall. Study room, book shelf from Ikea not really appealing but cheap. Installation is also easy and direct. Living hall, sofa from my previous 5I Living hall, installed the 37" LCD myself, should be centered to the blue wall and aligned to the ground.
  3. Usually, good material comes with a cost. They are infact more of the material guy, it is how deep your pocket is. Need not worry, they have done many houses experience enough to give you the right advice. Most important is attitude and cost.
  4. No more pic already, i think i have posted most of it, all major work. Like the awning, overhaul toilets x2, overhaul washroom, overhaul kitchen, master bed room carpentry etc.... Living room/dinning nothing much as it is false ceiling so nothing fanciful, 2 other bed rooms also not doing wardrobe... so i guess it is about it. Maybe pic with furnishing...... when i'm free.
  5. You have to be tough on your stand, charge them. Don't let them take you on a ride, already agreed one month, anything longer need $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
  6. Not really fat cos not enough to cover everything. I think have to come out with agent com, 35.8k for my reno and another 10 k fittings/furnishing, in the end depleted all my savings.
  7. Yes down light with 2 bulbs and they are not really large, i'm using square ones, its about 6" x 6" cost arount $28. If u want smaller than 6", then go for spot lights, halogen lights.
  8. Use double tube, think is 18w x 2 living room x 6 Master bed room x 6 Bed rooms each x 4 living room to dinning room walk way x 2
  9. Many people applied for the smalle units, 4 rooms and below. Now it is left with mostly 5 rooms.
  10. My contractors get back to me within 3 days whereas ID usually takes 2 weeks.
  11. Val @ 375K + Cov 40k = 415k Guess i should said i'm happy with my CPF $$, can't compare with those rich people lor.... I know nuts about investment so planning to clear off the loan in 10 years or lesser. CPF ordinary has got >3% interest cap at the first 20k???? Must take advantage of it lor.
  12. Fantastic work for just 14k. If u do the toilets it will cost u another 3k plus per toilet.
  13. Ic, i only used up one concessionary rate. Should have made full use of all the concessionary rates.
  14. Yes, i did. But i did not take up the loan. My colleague combine income exceeded 8k lor.
  15. The contractor called it roofing at 2.8k, not those retractable, using treated wood and german tiles. Need to apply permit from HDB.
  16. I got only one pic to show on the awning: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...16088&st=80
  17. 2.6% is the concessionary rate, 3.6% is the market rate. That's my col is not eligible for concessionary rate but instead is taking 3.6% from HDB.
  18. can, my colleague is getting loan from HDB at 3.6%.
  19. of course can except that it is market rate rather than concessionary rate.
