BINGO!!!! that's also what we love abt EM! especially my hb is the only son, and we expecting my in-laws will be staying with us,...and my MIL plays mahjong,....so, i can stay in the room with my kids, and my boys can sleep without being disturbed by the noise.

hi GMC do agree with your view in a way,....but think of it,.....the area is so much bigger for EM,...and EC or pte condo, all small area nia.......and if wanna buy big area units, it will cost alot lor. how to afford? it's very individual lor. eg. my bro stayed in a pte condo,.....and he sold off that apartment after just stayed there for 1year,.....cos, area is too small for him and also, he hardly make use of the facilities, and yet hv to pay so much for the maintenance......hahahhahaa he always ask us go over to help him use since he no time to use. and also, those neighbours or residents in pte condos / EC......very yaya-papaya.....and they are really think so high abt themselves.....that's why my bro just dun like the environment! he thus, sell it at a good price and earned the profit,....and now he has shifted to HG, HDB 5room flat......and much happier......cos neighbours all very friendly and helpful.

ya i agree with chrono. cos i know that all these EM, when they 1st purchased the unit, the buying price is pretty high and they hv to sell high to break even. my unit also,..that seller losses at that selling price to me. think, majority breaking even selling price shld be ard 450k, or even more. now i calculated mine,.....if i next sell, i will also need to sell at that price to break-even (with reno, interest all in).

actually, i felt...if your cousin is really ready to commit to that unit....maybe he can try to reach to an agreeable price with that owner. And once that owner is back in SIN on Aug, then immeidately sign and exercise OTP lor. meanwhile, your cousin dun hv to shop ard for a unit and can start looking forward to that owner back to SIN lor.

my current kitchen is *country style* by previous owner. we want to re-do all the kitchen cabinets, but felt that the wall tiles are all new and nice and it's quite wasted if wanna hack it off. thus, looking at remaining the wall tiles but we dun like country style. the theme we have in-mind is modern oriental theme. how to do abt that? please help and advise. thanks

666, Just for your info. I have just spoken to my bro (he's a property agent). He said, EM rental for fully furnished unit cost ard 2.2k-2.5k (also hv to depend on the location and amenities in the surrounding). So, u hv to decide for your unit,.....if it's very convenient and near MRT stn, then maybe you can ask for 2.6k! Hope it helps u cheers

hey 666, u must be firm and tell that agent the price you are looking at. cos u also need to make your own domestic arrangement if they delay move out, right? then tell him,.....u also hv problems with your own accommodation arrangement. Dun be so chin chai, or else they will just take advantage lor.
