virgo,....i hv not shortlist any contractor / id yet. will be going to meet up with chrono's id guy. let's hope to see what he can offer me and whether he can work within my budget or not.

just my 2cts worth... actually, now the prices of resale flat is slowly coming down. if you are not in hurry, maybe you shld hold and wait for another 6mths,.....i;m pretty sure you will be able to get a much better buy. good luck.

hi Chrono, can share? now i am really having a hard-time.....cos my hb was telling me to save cost and not to dismantle the false ceiling and no need re-wire,...he says remain all current wiring and false ceiling......sure will save alot! means, we only need to buy new lights and change lor. can anyone advise me here? is it advisable to keep those and remain as it is?

hi stargaze, can share with us on your on-going reno? how is your contractor / ID? how much you spent on reno? any pix to share?

does anyone of you here ever thought of doing the reno on *ala carte* basis? meaning.....hacking and tilings by 1 contractor,..then carpentary by another, .... electrician,......etc etc think it will be very much cheaper,.....but ofcoz we will be more busy lor.

just spoken to agent,.....and was told that he arrange my inspection on 4th may..... !!

lucky for me,.....no need to do the roofing cos the current owner has done that. But, I am contemplating whether should I change all the grilles and windows......cos I like it in WHITE colour,....and current windows all in green!! If change those, then my reno will be increased. hi mimisan, sure....you can PM me your email....i will email to you. maybe if we can all arrange and go to meet those designer....we will hv the bargaining power to ask for a much cheaper price!

hi hi chronograph, wow,....>$30k,...that's expensive leh! maybe you do more carpentary works? for me,...only carpentary is kitchen & MBR walk-in wardrobe. no false ceiling & downlight,....cos we intend to put nice nice lights / chandelier.......think this will save quite alot of $. we shall stay tune here and discuss on our EM's reno.....

hi all, i am also looking ard for sofa set,......wanna hv DARK coloured set,...cos my previous sofa at my previous hse was in light colour,..and it really gets dirty easily and i need to remove the fabric to wash regularly. I like the black sofa from Star Furniture, and the red sofa from OM.

hi chesfel, i only took ard 15yrs repayment for my loan. i loan for less then 150k.....hdb has wiped out my cpf of 210k.....now i am penniless...hahahaha !! my agent was telling me take teh max 30yrs loan......but, after calculation, we decided on 15yrs cos dun wish to pay so much interest lah. infact, if we allow the monlthly payment on 100% of our contribution, we just need to take 8yrs, but, after 2nd thoughts and decided not to stretch ourselves too much,.....we thus settled for 15yrs lah.

hi chesfel, ya, some of the pix can't be viewed. i like the glass stairs,....but, same here, due to my 2 boys also very young, thus will remain to the current rod-irons handles for the stairs. same here, my budget is only $20k,...dun wish to spend more. not sure how much is the main door.

hi hello88 me at hougang ave 8 I wanna do the following with a budget of $20k....do you all think it's possible? 1. overhaul kitchen 2. overlay tiles for all 3 toilets 3. whole house electrical works 4. change all pipings 5. carpentary works for kitchen, MBR & studyroom (will be converting the utilities room into study) 6. change window grilles for 2nd floor & study room. 7. change all the doors (3 bedroom doors on 2nd floor, main door & study room door) 8. polish current flooring (granite on 1st floor. parquet for stairs & 2nd floor ) 9. install new aircons (wanna do whole house, but read that cannot install 2 compressor ah???) if cannot install 2 compressor, then will install system 4. That's all.

i also need to know what are the things to look out during the final inspection.....cos my 2nd appt is scheduled on 14th May,...thus will be doing the inspection when nearer to the date. Will be doing a list to take note and bring it along...keke
