  1. Hi darcbleu, the relay cost me about 1.8k, but i think is worth it as we want our mbr bathroom to have a cosy and resort feel. here is the quote for mbr relay 4) do water proofing membrance to master toilet flooring $ 80 5) overlay new homogeneous floor tiles to master toilet flooring $ 460 6) overlay new homogeneous wall tiles to master toilet wall $ 1,270 Although is quite ex, but ID throw in the mbr sink vanity top and cabinet and mirror FOC. He is kelvin from NUSPACE, he dont to advertisement. Most of his clients through referr.

  4. Hi Windy, Im your neighbour. Ha.. Let me share some of my considerations when placing the fancoil unit. All is about minimising the distance of the pipings. For MBR, try to place near your aircon ledge and toilet. shortest distance possible. For bedrooms, try to place above the door, also shortest distance possible from MBR A/C ledge. For living room, place to the wall near bathroom so shortest diatnce for water pipe. 2 cents worth... Share some of my pic with you.
  5. Hi, Does anyone know where to get exactly the same design of this water feature? ThanksQ
  6. Actually the renovation has started for 2 weeks, therefore need to rewind back to show the start state of the house before the reno. This is our living room, we love the enlongated living room and we decide to place more mirror to make it more bigger. This is our kitchen, surprisingly, it is not as small as we expected. Just nice for small family cooking. And my mum love it as she cooks well. This is our small bedrooms , one word to describe= Pathethic [ This is our MBR, although it is not big, but we still like it. We plan to extend a feature wall to place our LCD tv. And this is our bathrooms. We plan to relay the tiles in MBR bathroom to be resort style.
  7. hi, my built in cabinet is pole system. So that corner infront of the A/ C window i'm hanging clothes. So if need to do servicing which is once a year, will have to remove all hangers and the horizontal pole. That will solve the problem.
  8. Hi eveybody, Finally decided to start the reno blog after reading and receiving tons of ideas and experinces shared by the forumers . It is time to share our joyful journey to the newbies and get comments and advise from the expert/ experience ones. : After our four attempts of balloting within 2 years and almost going into the crazy resale market, finally our wish and faith are answered. We got our dream home location at Tanglin Halt from the Jan 08 Balloting exercise. ALthough we did not get a very good queue number but at least our house is tall and scenic enough for our liking, I would say the wait is worth while. :dancingqueen Let the journey begins: Property : Tanglin Halt Blk 89 (90 sqm) ID/Contractor : Kelvin (NUSPACE) reno cost (all in $30k ) Key collection and door opening: 5th July 08 Dong-Tu : 12th Jul 08 Completion date: Mid Sep 08 Shifting in date: Oct 08 ROM and wedding : 1st Nov 08 Move to stay in Date : 2nd Nov 08 Purchases to be made/ bought (budget S$20k) 1. 12. Hi meepley, I also bought Toshiba inverter from Gaincity Marina sq last weekend. My salesman told me the condenser is made in Japan, and the fancoil units are made in Thailand. He is also very friendly, he has been selling air con for 8 yearsm kind of convinced by him toshiba is worth buying compare to other heavy advertsed brands. Btw, I only paid $3188, deliver and installed on coming saturday. Cheers!
  13. this special effect proposed by my id which really caought our eyes. Is a translucent orange marble feel material. Is going to form a rectangular veritcal box divider at my TV console area. If you have been to St james Dragonfly and seen the bar top, you will know what I mean. The lighting effect from inside the divider will give the natural marble wavey effect. Thats why willing to pay 1.2k for that.
  14. Thanks mud, The kitchen is 10ft on both top and bottom therefore is 20 ft for $2500. STill abit ex hor But his quote is the lowest compare to the high end one who quotes me 35k for the same amount of work. Because of the price rise in petrol and tariff, alot of material prices have gone up in July. Sigh.... a bad time to reno i would say...
  15. Hi veron, may i know how much you pay for the 3 items?

  18. hi hi, abviously you did not walk up and see what is on level 3. You will be surprsie to see what is upstairs. hee.. I have engaged Nu space for a quotation but yet to get back to me. My colleague has finished his reno with Nu space and has alot of good comments on their reponsibility and workmanships. The price wise is on middle high side. If you want to find out what is on level 3? You have to go up yourself. You will be amazed by their roof top balcony garden.

  23. I think is until, 8 Jun. Just to add on, my mattress also come with protector and 15 years warranty to springs problem and sagging of mattress. cheers!
  24. Hi all, went to expo today and have a chance to see and tried lying on lots of mattress. Finally, settle down with slumberland "Royal Prestige". Reasons of choosing: -The 1000 threads count mattress material which gives a cooling feel even with bed sheets on. (considering for our climate turning hotter). - WE choose more firm mattress because of long term support (good for spinal support) especailly we going to sleep it more than 10 yrs. SOb sob.. have to forgoe the comfy feel of all those hotel used mattress ie. s##ly.... (hotel used usally we only sleep for 1to2 weeks, so wouldnt affect our spinal but for long term is other wise...) Total damage: $1898 comes with: queen size mattress, bed frame (still KIV the design), 2 slumberland gel pillow P150 (very comfy, got silicon gel in it), 1 quilt cover plus 1 set of bed sheets.
