  1. Not all double glaze windows are the same, there's 6mm and 12mm space gap. I feel that the 6mm space gap is only effective for up to 40% in blocking off traffic noise. Either go for the thicker air space gap or thicker glass or better still, use laminated glass for the double glaze windows. I got mine done at Pang Giap. Installation was OK but they did not inform me that there's the 12mm option. I would have chosen this option. It was after some research online before I know about the various options. The after sales service is also very poor. No replies to my request for maintenance. Double glaze windows are very expensive and do check with your vendors if they provide after sales service.
  2. First, never pay all the monies before you are fully satisfied with the works. But since this is already done, it will be hard to chase them. What I would do is to sms this 'designer' of yours and inform him that you are going to embark on an internet campaign to reveal his company's deficiencies. Take pictures and post them all here. Netizens will help you spread the word. I believe this form of pressure will work. It did help me before.
  3. Its a private apartment at Textile Center. Very old place. About 40 years old. So there's lots of initial problems. Am glad that Willie has been able to overcome these problems. You need nerves of steel for that.
  4. So far so good. Willie has been accommodative to our fickleness. Its sometimes hard to visualise what we really want until the last moment. Sgnick is right, no blackface, no crap excuses, no ninja invisible tactics. He makes his presence felt throughout the project. Not bad, I like Willie. I'd gladly pay more for his service. If any of you guys wanna see the progress of the renovation or the final stage of my apartment, you can contact Willie.
  5. Ah yeah, will get some pics when they start some basic works, the next few days will be waterproofing. I got slightly above 40k, I actually didn't get any other quote. I thought the price would be around that range for a 900+ sq ft apartment. My quote is inclusive of windows, those double glazed ones which are quite pricey.
  6. These are the items I am having Willie do up for me: 1. complete hack of the place 2. double glazed windows 3. cabinetry for kitchen, living room and master bedroom 4. frosted tempered glass door for kitchen 5. granite kitchen worktop 6. homogenous floor tiling in living, kitchen and toilets 7. Floor to ceiling wall tiling for toilets and kitchen 8. fire rate main door 9. plumbing I will be getting my own: 1. airconditioners 2. curtains 3. lightings 4. fan 5. Appliances 6. toilet fixtures
  7. Good advice, I will be working closely with my contractor Willie, so far he has not missed a beat. I will try to update as the work progresses. Been really busy.
  8. Thank you for the intro Lynn. Willie is beginning work at my place this Friday...
  9. Hi, I've just noticed ***, may I know what are the services I can expect from a mortgage firm?
  10. Dear all I have a query which I hope someone can assist. Much appreciated. After having been granted an AIP by the bank and having paid the 1% for the OTP, is there any chance that the bank retract the offer of a loan? Tks all.
  11. Tried Meng, and thoroughly regretted. Maybe there are others in the company who can do better.
