  1. Hi xiaodingdang, yes! You just reminded me another of his virture. Safety and practicality plays a big part in his work. There were times when I wanted something to be done and he warned me of the safety factors. Two thumbs up for that. From the sound of it, I suspect he will not charge you for those stuff too. If no price was ever quoted, what ground has he got to charge you. Hope you enjoy your journey of the reno work
  2. Hi, there are some information from this thread. Hope it helps http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...mp;#entry370581
  3. Hi, sure. I paid $200nett. Item Measurements/ Dimensions are: Width 186 cm /Depth 36 cm /Height 184 cm. Information can be found here http://www.ikea.com.sg/catalog/product_dis...704021-73214357
  4. Hi Honeygal, Thank you for sharing with us your reno experience. However, I read with a little 'surprise' on your comments on Ho Bee. Nonetheless, there are a few points which I agree with you but in every case, there will always be two sides of the coins. I am sure you accepted Ho Bee for more then one reason. Besides the fact that he speaks English, I am sure you will agree with me that his workmanship is good. Nothing beats having the assurance that your home is left in the hands of someone reliable. I am sure you will not wish to move in to your new pad and only to discover that the quality of the work falls apart after a short while. $22K sounds hefty for a 3 room flat but could it be that a older place requires more work? Haulage and debris will contribute to quite a bit for old flats. This, I was told by many IDs whom I have met. In addition, an old flat requires re-wiring work which will also be costly. I read you are laising with many suppliers on your own. Is the 22K purely from Ho Bee or is it accumulative for all? Perhaps you want to share your quotation here with us and we can give some comments? On the same note, though I agree that Ho Bee can be a little rigid with discounts but as I work on with Patrick, I noted that he can be very accommodating. It's a give and take suitation. As for the cost of the tile, he did give you an option of up to $3 choice but you chose $2. You made that choice. What I know is there will always be a base cost for all work. You have to factor in labour and his other material cost. Why did I say there is always two sides of the coin is because, if you were to change the scenerio round and chose a $3.20 tile. Do you think Patrick will charge you for the difference? Well, I am pretty sure he will not as he is also our contractor. In fact, Patrick even told us that they can get the tiles cheaper then walk-in. That includes our enquiry on a possible reno loan then. Patrick told us all contractors/IDs referral entiles them to a $50 commission even...so he is more then happy if any of his customers take loan. My fiance and I were both shocked at first at his honesty but we know for sure then he was a truely reliable man. This was further proven along the course of our reno and we have not regretted on our choice. Sure, we know we had cheaper alternatives out there, but we only want to have some 'assurance' from the choice we made. We chose that reliability, so we must accept his business style. Cheer up, I am sure Patrick will ensure that the quality of your work is not being compromise. If we think he is rigid, it could also mean he is a very principled man. Hope I do not sound intruding in any ways. I just wanted to share our views and also to assure you sister You are not alone. As the economy is heading south, it's only natural that we feel sore on those reno expenses.
  5. May I ask if $160 psf expensive for a WIW? I am thinking of asking Ho Bee to have it done for me instead of buying from IKEA.
  6. Agree!! Your dinning setting is very nice and well done. Thumbs up! I rate it the best part of your whole house 10/10 Even your Pringles chips on the coffee table also green. wahhhhhhhhh steady
  7. Check out this forummer's thread. I think her shoe rack is kinda cool... http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...=16627&st=0
  8. Hey, yes...I think it's totally cool too. It's tug in one of their cabinet which you will need to pull open to see. You may ask the store keeper if you still cannot find. The bin is attached to the door of the cabinet. Errrrrr...pertaining to rest of your other questions, I wun know wor...I not the salesman mah kekeke
  9. Hey, pleasure is all mine. What do you mean you have been looking for this item for a long time? You mean IKEA is out of stock or....
  10. hahaha... I burst out laughing when I saw your last statement.
  11. Hi, thanks for sharing. We bought ours from IKEA liao. I know the quality may not be as good as those from hardware shops but...that's the best we can do with our tight budget and poor 'handyman' skill to fix those from hardware shop Here's the picture of our racks from IKEA.
  12. Checked liao. The white TVs are all 32" leh. None in 37"
  13. agree! The TV feature looks awesome!!! We have almost the same theme for living room but yours is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l But it would have been 101% if your sofa is white colour too lor. My TV feature is white too and was searching high and low for a 37" WHITE TV but no luck at all. End up with a black TV like everyone else. Haiz...
  14. Hi, we are interested to get 2 of their Novvy chairs, retailing at $168 each. If your credit can assist us to pay below $150 each, we will go ahead. The store's best offer to us is at $150 each. No obligations of course
  15. Dear Mr. Chong. Yes, we are both born in Singapore. 2am is as safe as it could be. Hope to hear from you soon as we need to prep for the big day too. Once again, thank you for your kind assistance.
  16. Hi Angel81, Hello thanks for your reply. Actually I already bought the IKEA Rationelle range too. I bought the $38 dollars range. The only difference from your link is the track is the floor mounting, not the 'wall/door' mounting. I intend to return it to IKEA as they have this 90 days policy. Hi pinkpetter, I loved it so much. It's $99.90 I think from Howards. If I cannot find an alternative, I intend to buy it lor. It's practical and nice lor Haiz...hopefully someone will come out and advice where else sells them
  17. Hey thank you very much Actually the one in our common bathroom is of a better grade and design. But the master bath basin will be too big for our smaller vanity top in the common bath. Oh, may I also take this opportunity to urge fellow forummer to close the lid of their W.C whenever they take pictures? Looks better lor. I see many nice pictures in other threads but the open lid W.C looks kinda unslightly. That's IMO lah.
  18. Hi, anyone did this? We are planning to do this for our kitchen cabinet and only found this at Howards Storage World. Would love to know where else I can find this and how much will it be. The lid of the bin opens only when the cabinet is swing open. Otherwise, it remains close. Thanks in advanced
  19. Hey thanks a million for sharing. These are "news" to me. Thanks Will probably check out those 'wu jin tien' soon Nonetheless, the quotes you gotten for those doors are really a good bargain as well. Hey, I have never seen that bedside table before wor...even thou we have clocked the 'Frequent Flyer' miledge for IKEA. hehehehe. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Hi babe, Care to give us the lobang for your door? Actually, we wun need to change the door but thought of changing the door knob from crome to silver as our doors are also changed from a cream/yellow to white. Am sure the door supplier may sell door knobs bah. Also, what is the range of your bedside table from IKEA? What name huh? The colour looks different leh...You have a clearer picture babe? Thanks in a zillion.
  21. Ok, will try to post some pics or more pics when it's fully furnished. Till then, I thought I share one of our 'current' fav design for our MBR Bathroom Vanity. Cannot wait to lay my amenities on those racks...
  22. Good job on your room done Pinkpetter? So your theme is B&W? Are the racks in your room from IKEA huh? The moo moo cow which your bf gave you is such a delight to look at. It's a happy cow
