Hi guys, I would like to find out and learn if i can splice the light switch wiring and add another power outlet next to the light switch? Or are the wires that run to the light switch not suitable for a power socket? Thanks a lot for the help guys.

Recently I bought a couple of Metalclad 13A sockets from CCM.However,I see disparity between the listed models in the CCM(and also other Singapore distributors,so it is not CCM's fault) and the official MK site.On page 3 of the catalog of the Metalclad plus in the CCM website, the switched 13A and 15A sockets, and the rocker switches have SKUs that start with "G" instead of "K".These "G" series look different from the "K" series that is officially on the MK website. For example,on the SG distributer's pdf,the model of 2 gang 13A BS1363 socket is "G2946 ALM".However,on the official MK site, the model number is "K2946 ALM".The models have substantial differences such as the "G" version have narrower plastic edges around the socket holes, narrower rocker switch, only 1 earth connection at the back instead of 2 on the "K" series. The safety mark sticker also looks somewhat dubious(look like low quality sticker).Googling "G" series does not provide much information either.May I know the reason for the different models, where the "G" series are made in,and also where to get the "K" variants in Singapore. Thanks for any information about the matter. PS I see the "G" series installed on the void deck of HDB,but on Circle Line MRT stations,"K" series with red rockers are used.On a corridor on Jurong Point, there are also an MK Albany Plus socket installed on the wall with a more trust-able safety mark sticker on the top left.

Anyone know anywhere in Singapore has stop that sell a wide selection of lighting switch and wall socket, not looking for the common and simple type, prefer those with design, touch sensor or similar type. Thanks in advance

Hi, I recall last time I came across a post here that someone said their electrician charged only $10 per point for changing such light switches n power sockets. I've bought 20plus for the house and want to change like 6 as soon as possible. Does anyone have any reliable contacts for this? Actually, I can do myself I think..but may be very slow. And not sure also if I will do it correctly. So please intro to me if you have frm your recent reno. Much appreciated!

Hi fellows. I've track lights installed & controlled on a 2-way circuit. Observed that my light (only connect 1 unit * 3-watt track lamp for testing) is flickering even when the switch (es) are off. Repeated the test with alternative track lamps (however, always 1 unit per test) with the same observation. My electrician says the flickering is due to the stray current always present in the circuit of 2-way circuits regardless of them being turned on/off. I'm not entirely convinced. I'm seeking feedback from users with track light systems controlled by 2-way switches. Do you observe this? What wattage are each of your track lamp? Do you observe this when only 1 lamp is left connected on your entire track? Do let me know. Much appreciated. N.B. My "2-way" circuit refers to a single track being able to be powered on/off via 2 physical switches.
