Tolkien 0 Report post Posted June 16 Just moved house and its a bigger garden than I'm used to. Lots more boarders to fill up! Theres a few tricky shady spots and one spot that just seems a permanent puddle. Would love idea outside of the normal daffs and tulips as to what could be planted for flowering in the spring. I’ve had good luck with hellebores, hardy ferns, and astrantia for those tricky spots. For sunnier bits, I’m popping in alliums and wallflowers now. Ullani 0 Report post Posted June 17 For shady borders, I’ve had good luck with hellebores, foxgloves, and hardy ferns, which fill out nicely without much fuss. I also pop a few pots around to test what likes the light before planting permanently. For gaps near the house, I’ve brought in some indoor houseplants from inside during warmer months to add colour, and that’s been a handy way to mix things up.
