Please Advice On Cj Ambience

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am getting my key for my unit in Casa Merah.

I have received a brochure from CJ Ambience.

The pictures inside look very attractive.

Thinking of getting them to renovate my unit a bit.

However, I wish to find out more about them in here.

Any positive or negative comments?

Greatly appreciate any contribution of comments.

I have attached my floor plan here.

Any suggestion on renovation ideas will also be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rose

Hi Rose,

I love the floorplan!

The existing layout looks perfectly fine though I thought Bedroom 2's space can be better managed. I'm assuming the bed (head) is directly in-front of the bay windows?

Hi moobat,

I'm thinking of getting this CJ Ambience to spice up my unit a bit with a beautiful feature wall and a tv console.

How is their carpentry work?

Is their design good?

Awaits your reply.

Thanks,

Rose

Hi rose,

I think you can go and ask for a quote 1st. I mean apart from them, also go to some other ID to see what they can provide you with. Give them a estimated budget to work with. It a fairer ground to do comparison.

Hi mengliangchan,

Thanks for the advice.

He has a particular carpentry team that's good - so good to ask for them.

Design-wise, it really depends on how adventurous you are but best to reference some Interior Design magazine to get some ideas on what type of concept/theme you prefer. We love our master bathroom! :D

We haven't "officially" move into our unit yet but we do pop-by every weekend to slowly clean-up the place. Let me know if you're interested to take a look.

Cheers!

I usually post my experience at another forum but thought I should speak up.

So far, I've got no problems with CJ Ambience and I'm already finishing my renovation works next week. Actually, I've checked out 7 IDs (and contractors) before deciding on them.

You may want to check out my experience at this forum :

(remove spacing)

Feel free to drop by my place if you want to check things out yourself. Maybe can help me look for defects too!

hi mmobat,

thanks i got it

Hi moobat,

Do you think carpentry work is able to help me solve my problem?

My daughters' room is facing the main road and MRT track, quite noisy.

I'm looking forward to reduce the noise pollution.

Below are the original and proposed floor plans of my unit at Blk 24, New Changi Rd.

Many Thanks!

Hi ahweewee,

I doubt carpentry can help much though you can try asking Adrian for ideas. viperconan is right - good to approach other IDs for their ideas too! :)

However, two suggestions :

a) Use thicker and heavier curtains for your daughter's room. Some audio enthusiasts using thick velvet curtains in their rooms for better sound insulation. Downside is, it may feel warmer.

b) Double-glazed or secondary glazed windows - heard about these somewhere but it means you need to keep your windows closed (need to turn-on air-conditioning)

Hope this helps in anyway. :yeah:

Hi moobat,

Me and my hubby are not really forum people.

However, heard from my colleagues about this forum and comment it to be pretty helpful.

We are getting our keys in a couple of months time.

Happened to see your post.

Also saw your post in myhometown: www renotalk.com/Forum/tabid/84/forumid/23/tpage/9/view/topic/postid/93143/Default.aspx

Your ID seems to be very effective and responsible.

Can see you are quite please with their work.

Also saw quite many people checking out on them.

Are they really good?

Coz we are quite busy and don't want to run islandwide to do too much sourcing for a good ID.

Can you advice us on some of the better ID you have come across?

Also provide me with your ID's contact?

Do you happen to have any final pictures of your finished unit?

I think pictures speak a thousand words.

Million thanks!

Hi angelateoml,

Sorry for late reply. :P

I'm planning to take photos this weekend after I get my hands on a wide-angle camera lens. :)

Will share at the MyHomeTown forum as I've been posting there since before we got our flat. But will keep everyone here posted.

Me and wife-to-be went to about 7 IDs/contractor prior to deciding on CJ...though only two other came close to our final decision. Our approach to finding an ID or Contractor was simple :

(to get quotation)

- find mostly those that come recommended by friends/colleagues/etc -- we contacted about 4 (3 IDs + 1 contractor)

- find 1 during those regular Home Renovation Convention (usually at Singapore Expo)

- find 2 more through walk-ins -- somehow, this is the worse way to get quotation (one quoted us $38K w/ lotsa missing items still!)

My advice is to obtain at least get 3 quotations to get an estimate of the price based on your requirements.

Hope this helps! :)
