Hi,

ya, my parents almost want to buy from this Palace Light, but i found out thats one lighting shop at Joo Chiat Place, No. 55 (opposite Guan Hoe Soon Restaurant), my parents have bought few lights from them early of this month after much survey at balestier & geylang lighting shop. This lighting shop prices are reasonable & friendly sales service also.

you may want to go there and have a look.

I bought from them before, no problems at all. Sometime customers get bad service because they have a bad attitude.

But we are Customer, if the shop think that we have bad attitude, they can dont give discount or dont sell, but take the money from us, sure have to give us the good installation service. So if they open a restaurant, because of customer attitude no good then any how cook?

:bangwall:

Hi, any body next time want to buy lights or fans from them, have to remember nice talk to them and smile to them first, then they will repay you with good service...

If not... :jawdrop:

I am now renovating my new place so started browsing this forum, and it brought a smile (or frown) onto my face when I saw this thread.

I am one of their unhappy customers 3 years back. I bought some ceiling lights for my current place kitchen. Because electrician did the installation, I didn't really bother to check the lighting too carefully. Just before moving in, I decided to clean all the fittings, including lights. To my horror, after removing the cover from the lights, I couldn't fit one of them back. I thought it was my technique problem so I tried and tried but to no avail. Finally, I compared the cover with the other identical one (I bought 2 for kitchen), then I realised that they gave me a different cover.

I then brought the wrong cover to them. They insisted that the cover is correct, just that "handmade" glassware items tend to differ slightly in size & shape. Granted - but if it is so different until you can even fit properly onto my lights, then it's not acceptable! After some haggling, they agree to change but claim no stock and ask me to come back again after 2 weeks. 2 weeks later, they gave me a cover that is similar in size and shape but different shade! And that's the only alternative they have for me so it's take it or leave it. No choice - LL accept - but I don't recommend this shop to anyone who's looking for lightings!

When I first got my keys for my HDB flat 14 years ago, I bought some lightings from them. I had no issue. That's why I decided to go back to them this year to buy some ceiling fans. However, I wished I had read this thread before I would surely NOT have gone back to them.

Why? Their after service really sucks!

1) When items does not work, no money refunds for returning the item back to them. They give you credit note with one year expiry.

2) Useless credit note - why? you cannot use the credit note to buy celing fans!! They limit you to their light fixtures! Here I am, requiring more ceiling fan for other rooms but unable to use it. Why do i want to buy lights when I have no need of them!

3) For the same light fixtures sold somewhere else, if you use their credit note, they will jack up the price of the item. One has no choice but pay higher price, otherwise how to make good of the credit note? So, isn't this like day-light robbery???????

4) You argue some more with them.....they give you the "ah-beng" attitude.....what can u do??????? You cant even take your business to somewhere else when you got more than $100 stuck with them.

Therefore, better be warned.....it's not about the initial service they give to you (eg offer you drinks, speak nicely to you) BEFORE you part your money....it's the AFTER sale service that counts.

oh one more thing......if you try calling them (for replacement of parts or for problem encountered in their item) their telephone PERPETUALLY NO ONe answer it when you call. Even if they give you their mobile number,, no use...they will not answer!! will give alot of craps they attending to customers. (you go to shop, got so MANY customers every time meh????????) u can see they just sitting there doing nothing!

Wow, just too late for me. Bought lights and fan from Place Lights and now, am reading all these bad experiences from you all :o

They have yet to deliver the lights and fan because my reno is not completed yet. From what I read, I gather that it's better that my own electrician fix the lights since their electrician can be unreliable. But need your advice, do you think I should collect the lights and fan from them personally at the shop or should I ask them to deliver? But the fan is quite big and I drive a small car. Also, I bought a chandelier from them and that's heavy and fragile too...what would you guys suggest?

Thanks in advance. It's my first time renovating my apt so a lot of things are new to me.

ya, since you have transport problem and you have spent so much, to my opinion they are suppose to deliver what they have promise to you. we have finished our reno just before CNY and bought some lighting at a shop in joo chiat place, think its call brilliat lighting, they actually have delivered a good service and more over with free installation.

must deal with this palace lighting carefully.
