Carpentry - Matt Or Gloss

Glossy surface will show some unevenness or rather make it more obvious.

oh yeah. my neighbour was complaining that his laminate got some trapped bubbles, then he asked the carpenter to come and redo :jawdrop: . In the end, the carpenter pasted another layer of laminate over the existing one.

no matter how small the defect, it'll deform the reflected image, making even the slightest imperfection very obvious. I was thinking TV console which is set against the wall shouldn't be that obvious, but my neigbour one is a TV console that he asked to redo.

Gloss = defect / dust highly visible.

Matt = Magnet for dirt/dust. harder to clean.

Preference = Matt but a pattern that dust not easily visible.

my ID is suggesting Matt painting (not laminate) for our carpentry. My thought is that it gives a very raw and industrial feel to the furnishing. Surface will feel abit rough.

Gloss to me gives a more refine and finished elegant look.

Having this crash of idea w my ID.. !!!
