It is usually harder to maintain a sliding windows .... imagine cleaning the opposite side of the glass .... that's when a lot of flying maids occur.

I've tried both castment and sliding. For cleaning, both are ok since I only clean once a year during CNY.

Sliding window has fewer bars so I do prefer the "OPEN" feeling of a sliding window.

Another option is to have the combination of both casement and sliding windows..

it is MUCH more expensive than casement

did 9 panels of casement windows at home for $900

the quote for only 6 panels of that is more than double
